Lag causes weird things to happen. I'm seeing telltale signs of desync, so things likely looked quite a bit different on Desert's end.

It's not always immediately apparent who hit you, so it can take some detective work to figure it out, thus resulting in a late call. Also, depending on where you car ends up after the crash, it's better to make sure you're out of the way before starting to type.

It's a racing incident, both turned into each other. Desert got the worse end of the deal. When both drivers are at fault there shouldn't be a call out just because you got the worse end of the deal.

Broughy, I would really like to see you start standing up for yourself in these waiting situations. The call out at 18 minutes was complete BS as they clearly turned straight into you and then called it your fault. Sometimes I just want to see you say no it wasn’t my fault.

And get DSQ for not respecting callouts. Yes it seemed BS but its in the rules to respect callouts and report false ones after the race. I doubt you want to see Broughy in the sinbin for the final 10 minutes of the race. :)

DiNmiTe hmmm. I get it but it still feels pretty iffy to me that anyone can throw a call out whether it’s correct or not and then get a little reprimand at the end after the damage is done. I understand that this particular community is pretty tight and generally well-mannered, but people have a tendency to not admit their own faults and blame it on an outside source. Like how sports teams just so happen to “truly believe” that the call should go their way.

@@WaveOfPig We don't hand out little reprimands for false callouts. The punishment, if deemed a false callout, can be as little as temporary removal from the whitelist, to straight up banned from the server, depending on the frequency and severity of the false callouts.

He's always quick to throw a hissy fit when someone spins him out, but when its the other way round he thinks it's never his fault... Why has he not been disciplined/removed from the server like you describe?

Considering how disproportionately violent the hit is when compared to the speed of the cars and how slowly Desert's vehicle moves to the left, I'm certain significant desync was in play.

17:53 Both turned into each other, on a straight. Both are at fault. Racing incident. He called you out because he was worse off, but the rules of racing state that in a racing incident there should be no penalty. So you shouldn't have been called out. Remember just because you're the one who got the worse end of the deal doesn't mean you're not to blame.

0:46 not to be an ass, but i have to highly disagree with Broughy. I think the Sugoi is fine right where it is. It's only a Honda Civic Type R, it isn't that great anyway. I mean, it's a four cyl, what do you expect? Definitely fits as a low tier sports car imo. Maybe a slight buff in speed to make up for not having a VTEC, but that's it. Not every car needs to break a land speed record in the game.

@@DiNmiTe There's nothing to enlighten. Always takes two to tango and your system gives one of them total power which obviously leads to false call outs, abuse and misunderstandings. Especially with the servers massive lag issues and a lage proportion of players who seem rather unaware of basic racing rules, at least in the random ones.

The Poor Carbonawhatsitsface getting called out for something that happened when it existed only as a quantum probability function! But looking at what happened with the Comet, Broughy was definitely not guilty because it looked like he'd straightened up after swerving the air tug and had the car been further to the left he'd still have got hit!

The way he gets launched forward and to the right suggests that he got rear-ended. i.e. on his screen Broughy was behind him, and as such, moving to the left is completely fine in preparation to the upcoming chicane.

Random “ScrewBrough”. Everyone is running Random Sporty, Broughy only breaks out of random pain long enough for a half decent lap, before being knocked back into a Regina or Duneloader Tell him it’s a normal random, then at the end, the notification pops “Thanks for participating in our new series: Random Screw” Obviously it’s gotta take place on March 31st or April 2nd, so he thinks he’s safe.

The only valid response to a call-out is to wait. Any discussion in the chat regarding the incident will only serve as a distraction for the other people racing, and make both parties lose more time instead of just waiting and carrying on. Any confusion as to whose fault the incident was is dealt with after the race.

Complaining that the sugoi is in sports class because how slow it is really bothers me because not every car is made for racing. The Civic type R is a sports car and the sugoi is based off it. The sports class already has slow cars like the futo for example. I know broughy is a racing channel but still, not every car is made to be competetive

It isn't even the Type R. It's just a Civic hatchback. Also, with that logic the Blista Compact belongs in the Sports class. It just doesn't. Edit: after some googling, it seemed pretty clear that the Type R still isn't a sports car. It's just as fast as some of them. Hot hatch =/= sports car.

An all cars random all is in the planning stage i believe, for the other types it'll normally be for a special occasion, not to replace normal 25 minute randoms :)

Because he calls everyone out for the tiniest hits but never waits himself. Look at 13:22, sends someone off the track by hitting him twice and drives on as if nothing happened.

@@TDwulf Thought they spun by themselves at first, but after checking again it does certainly seem like it's clearly his fault on Broughy's screen. Good chance the person getting spun didn't actually see who spun them out so no callout could be made. Though I would've said at least something, so maybe Mild could put 2 and 2 together.

But seriously, the Issi V8 had already lost control by the time Mild hit it, so a call-out isn't valid, and Mild does not have to wait. After all, it's an Issi V8; it was never going to have a good time on the banked turn.

Any non-stock option in the spoiler category gives the traction bonus (the spare wheel on the Stirling GT, for example). Essentially the engine just looks whether a custom spoiler has been applied or not, and gives the traction bonus accordingly, regardless of what said spoiler looks like (or if it even has a model or not). Most cars in vanilla don't have a "no spoiler" spoiler option, so we've been adding the option manually to cars on Homecoming.

@@ElliWoelfin Because the staff disagrees with the whole "lean backwards to go faster" fiasco. Also bike races are just chaos, it's bad enough with car races and FiveM lag. The two bikes have custom handling thats more realistic, and thats as far as anyone wants to take it.

I respect the callout system, but what happens if you use a wrong callout. People said that they're taking a look into it but what are the consequences?

I imagine suspensions or straight up bans; there's a role implemented that involves players who DNF, troll, or do any unwanted behavior, and I imagine false callouts may be included in that category if unwanted behavior (dont quote me though, as I could be totally wrong)

How about that race: Everybody starts in the same car, after the first lap the game decides what Random category u get for the entire race. Then u race with everybody but only against the people in the same class.

So multiclass, but different gamemodes? Yeah that sounds stupidly hard to code and what's to stop a group in random sporty from having to deal with backmarkers racing random pain? Dont say some form of ghost mode or non-contact, kinda takes away the whole PH being a racing oriented server if everyone battles knowing they dont need to have any sense if space awareness

@@sharkeatinpizza Its meant to be something between normal random all and something like random sporty. There is still the competitive aspect to it against your group but on the other side rediculous situations with backmarkers. Was just a thought maybe it would be really annoying..

Sadly, GTA considers sirens sound effects and lumps them in with everything "not music", so there's no way of singling them out in order to mute them.

Well Broughy doesn't decide what content gets added to PH since he's not a staff member of the server. As of now we are waiting for the FiveM devs to update to the latest version of the game, which can help free up some resources and let us add more cars. If cars are added, they're automatically added to the other types of Random modes, if they're in the right classes :)

The callout is being investigated; also rules say ya gotta respect callouts, if the callout was invalid, it can be reported for investigation and whoever did the calling out will probably be punished for false callouts

It's a lag hit. Broughy was wayyy further back on Desert's screen, and he was just moving to the racing line when he got lag shunted. This is evident in how he gets pushed forward and to the right, and by how violent the collision at such slow speeds.

One false call-out generally results in a stern talking to by the staff, and if that doesn't work, temp bans and ultimately permanent bans are utilised.

Not sure why desert called you to wait? They were the one the hit into you and spun off, and then to do it 20 seconds later is a bit shitty. I’ve it’s not called straight away it you shouldn’t wait

It was a lag collision, Desert saw Broughy plow through him on his screen, thus the callout. The reason the callout was 20 seconds later was because Desert was trying to figure out who hit him, and was finding a spot to call them out safety without slowing down on the racing line.

DiNmiTe do not agree with that one but. Lag collision or not there have been plenty of races where broughy has been hit and the other person has just drove off. Doesn’t matter what you can see after the race, if during the race that happened then there’s no need to stop. Broughy didn’t move into contact so should have just cracked on

Again lag is per screen so an incident may look one way on one person's perspective but completely different on someone else's -- case in point this Broughy-Desert incident. >If during the race that happened then there’s no need to stop. Then there's no punishment for ruining other people's races since you assume you weren't at fault, which for many scenarios is the wrong way to think, _especially_ given lag bubbles exist in FiveM. You wait for callouts regardless on how you feel about it. And if you felt it was false, you report it in Discord, ideally with footage. @@danielbrown6566 Broughy hit me in the ass, i was flung off into the wall and was trying to figure out who hit me for about 5 seconds, i was in the way of other racers so the 15 remaining seconds i used to get too a safe spot to call broughy out, lag is a thing we have to deal with on Project Homecoming. that's what the callout is for to let the other person know that they have hit you
