They did Carly dirty in the anime. Season two should have had her using fortune ladies to get over her dark signer nightmares or something akin to that.
Actually, I've read in three different places that the second season of 5D's was suppose to include the Arcadia Movement more, but that it got scrapped because of Carly's first Japanese VA was discovered to be a part of an organization that was being investigated, and as a result Carly's role was heavily lowered. But I'll be the first to admit that it should be taken with a grain of salt, I wasn't able to find ANYTHING about the group.
@williamsloan9530 That’s evidently a myth. The cult investigation had nothing to do with Carly’s diminished role. Honestly, I just think Shin Yoshida wasn’t interested in writing the story he inherited, given all the changes he made from season one. Now Crow’s prominence appears to be Ono’s influence, and 5D’s hard shift to sci-fi and away from fantasy seems to be a Shueisha decision given how every season of Yugioh after the Dark Signers Arc has been sci-fi focused-even the Studio Gallop era has continued this trend despite Yoshida’s departure from head writing duties.

Whats interesting is that Past is wearing the same wardrobe as Dark Signer Carly. Nice little detail and callback, that. 😊 Meanwhile, Every is like a Light Signer version especially with the light of synchro summoning (also like a grown version of Solitaire Magician.)
I will always have a soft spot for this deck. When I first started playing Duel Links years ago and had no idea what an archetype was and all my decks were composed of whatever good stuff I could get for free, Fortune Lady Earth carried me through some matches that by all rights I should never have won.
Been working on my fortune deck in master duel for a while now, and keep trying to find the balance of Fortune Fairies to literally anything else without hitting a brick. I like to have decks stick to one archetype as much as possible, but this archetype just does not allow it. The main issue is that the fairies themselves can't be chained because they say "WHEN you draw this card". Without that, they would be actually insane.
I can help you figure it out. During the Duel Triangle Event on Master Duel. I got FTKed by a Rare Fortune Lady Deck. It had a few Cards that you’d be shocked to see. Though finding a Replacement for “Temple of the Kings” is the one tricky spot for a TCG version of the deck.
Love this archetype from the very moment it was introduced in the anime along with Aslla Piscu! Unfortunately it lacks support much like Red Eyes but that still doesn’t stop me from playing them in Master Duel.
yaaay this is one of my favorite archetypes whenever im in like gold on master duel i like playing it alongside silent magician (all the draws givr it a big attack) and quintent magician (you have a fairly easy time setting up 5 differently named spellcasters in the gy). i hope they give it support (that doesnt help facilitate ftks) someday edit: magicians souls is another good tech pick i think. gives even more draws, and you can send fortune vision thats just vibing in your backrow
Also I requested this one to but this deck really needs more support that’s is consistent and you can’t use dragon shields sleeves and game mats In yugioh tournaments in Europe anymore
So nothing is stopping you from using Dragon Shield sleeves, as long as they are a single color from what I've read. I hope I'm not wrong on this, tbh, but I think they just don't want any designs on them unless said design is Konami specific. IE the Magnificent Mavens or even the IP/Albaz sleeves.
Back in like....2020 (i think) I was introduced to Fortune Lady from Master Duel because it had its own pool. Every looks like Hatsune Miku so that's what made me fall in love with the archerype and have been trying to make it work. 4 years later we get White Woods and I've been finding good synergy between the two archerypes. My time to show the power of Fortune Lady draws ever closer
could also mention fortune lady fire doesnt burn for original attack, but attack on field, one of the few cards that do that and so has ftk potential (i think shadow toon is the other one) also, heres a fun interaction: fortune visions has no opt. which means if your opponent is on floo, every single normal summon they make will be banished
27:32 nova are you sure about that boy. For your info there are exodia ftks with fortune lady, together with some weird combos, mostly in duel links. This is because you can make synchros with fortune lady past and water, then use de-synchro to resummon them, getting yourself a pot of greed, and repeat this process till you draw enough. Granted its not consistent but it is an ftk. So probably 4 in objectivity instead of 5
I enjoy playing Fortune Lady with Charmers/Possessed honestly. Awakening of the Possessed works well to buff any charmers and fortunes on the field since they each have one of every element, and they can all be used to link summon charmers to steal anything your opponent may have in grave for an added bonus to your lineup.
YES, but with Fortune Fairies it works WAY better! Awakening gives you draws whenever you make a link charmer, and Miracle Stone boosts link-charmers, too! Whenever you have Miracle Stone, you use the Familiars to make the link charmers so the Fortune Fairies can buff them and net more draws, and whenever you don’t, using those same 0-ATK fairies to climb keeps you from getting run over! I also recommend RGB Rainbowloution when Awakening is out to give your whole field +1800 ATK.
I've always really loved this deck and tried my best to actually make it work on both Master Duel and duel emulators, though it's been tough to do. Maybe some day we'll get some really good support to make the deck truly viable, though not to dimish Past and Every's contributions because those cards are awesome!
Fortune Ladies are one of my favorite decks and i never thought id see them here lol some tech picks i really like include; Light of Redemption : an easy way to get Light back in your hand immediately after you banish it Different Dimension Gate : can let you remove both Light for her effect and also get an opponents monster out of the way. Light of Redemption can also get Light back for you without destroying the card Inverse Universe : this is a really fun card i like to use that swaps all Effect Monsters stats, and since Fortune Ladies have identical ATK/DEF, only your opponents cards will swap also i think you missed the Trap Card 'Slip of Fortune' its not an on theme Fortune Lady card but it feels like it was still designed for them
Im personally a "i like the card art so i wanna use it" type of person, so when i saw FL Every i knew i wanted a FL deck. Trying to use it is a bit of a learning curve but im gonna do my best o7
Poor Fortune ladies they was a great archetype but they had so many issues that Konami did them dirty. A big one was searching due to them having ? atk and def. Since most recruiter monsters searched or summon based on atk and def. It was unfortunately a major fail. You could use cards that focused on lv but at the time we didn't have many. Word on the street was they planned to give fortune Ladies their synchro but dropped it after not making things so broken. As well they didn't have an idea for a tuner. Since Carly was a dark signer the gimmick to have a negative tuner and synchro was gonna be easy for the archetype that focus on levels. Unfortunately it was a 10 years later. Still really good but late. Even with the inclusion of fortune fairies not much helped but oddly gave some fun deck ideas on release on the OCG and TCG.
If i am not crazy, "Inherited Fortune" is ment to basically represent the Dark Signer aspect as it would give you the material to summon out the Earthbound Immortal during your next turn.
I love the Fortune Lady cards, I still play with a deck focus on them and still find it fun. I do wish there was more support for them, like having variations of each lady. Example: Fortune Lady Quake. Lv.6/earth/spellcaster/Atk: ?/Def: ?. -the Atk/Def of this card is 400 x their lv. Once per turn, during your standby phase: increase this cards lv. by 1. Whenever a monster on the field has their modulated, deal 300 damage to your opponent. And if this card is banished by a card effect: special summon a spellcaster from your hand, deck, or gy, whose lv. Is lower than this cards current lv. Also for extra deck, we can have the Fortune Lady's do contact fusion (as doing so banishes the monsters for the fusion summon) and have the monster be a something that represents their attributes being fused. Like: F.L Fire + F.L Earth = F.L Magma. F.L Light + F.L Dark = F.L Eclipse.
here is my Fortune lady deck in master duel: 3 FL light, 3 FL past, 3 Magicians' souls, 3 FL water, 1 Performapal Sky Magician, 2 illusion of chaos, 1 monster reborn, 1 one for one, 3 shadow's light, 1 foolish burial goods, 1 spellbook of knowledge, 1 FL calling, 1 Magician's right hand, 1 Magician's left hand, 3 Magician's restage, 3 fortune vision. rest of the deck is for non-engine cards like hand traps, anti-hand traps, removal, and sometime floodgates. extra deck: Formula Synchron, FL every, Stellar wind wolfrayet, Baronne de fleur, Linkuriboh, Relinquished anima, Artemis the magistus moon maiden, Akashic magician, I:P Masquerena, Barricadeborg blocker, Dharc the dark charmer, S:P little knight, selene queen of the master magicians, Apollousa bow of the goddess, Underworld goddess of the closed world. going 1st I have killed many meta decks.
I would have put in a lot of Cards that either increase the Turn Counter, or ones that skip over individual Phases, espiacially my Opponents Battle and MainPhase 2. If he If he waists Negates on those, he will lack them once the Effects of the Fortune Ladys are relevant
I hope they get more synchros. I'd also like a bridge card that would better integrate asla piscu into the deck like hundred eyes dragon with infernitys but considering the otks that card has done we'd prob be better off without it
I always play ass archetypes in the older decks in tag force 1 I played the few neo spacian cards that they put unto the game Iirc the only fusions available were the dolphin one, the panther one and the moss guy one, and that's it. No scarab, no mole, no field spell so that they stay on field, on tag force 2 and 3 it was volcanics and crystal beasts and in the 5ds games i tried to make these work but I remember feeling my brain was too smooth for it, like, all i would manage to do is big bongus beats with some of the fortune ladies and that's it
I want this deck to be supported, it is so cool in concept and is from a character literally everyone likes. Easy cash grab for Konami and nice support for a liked archetype. Everyone wins
Or just play Awakening of the Possessed for 300x your different number of attributes alongside Miracle Sone. And if you play Link Charmers in your Extra, you get a draw while Awakening is up. My Fairy Charmer deck gets to 3K pretty consistently on at least one or two of its on-board bodies in this way. And if you wanna get WAY nutso with it, pop RGB Rainbowlution on one of your monsters to have all 6 attributes at once present under Awakening’s boost (1800 ATK to all monsters). Although if you do that, your monster won’t be a Spellcaster any more for Miracle Stone, so… don’t target a Spellcaster? Target a Familiar instead; they summon for free while you have a Spellcaster. I personally like targeting Unchained Abomination!
The problem is, decks are too small in size limit to allow for both Fortune Fairies and Forutne Ladies to both be in the same deck, but is too large for a pure varriant of either strategy to be consistent! Consider that Hikari, En, Swee, and Chee are all great cards for whatever engine they're put in. But if you want the banish-spellcaster-pile support, or a fully powered Miracle Stone board, you also have to run Hu and Ann. Six monsters of varrying porportions- and then you have to fit the Fortune Ladies into the deck, who are the ones that are supposed to pack the punch! The dichotomy splits the consistency of the hybrid strategy in half- in the perfect circumstance, they are more powerful together, but when played out of order, they are weaker than if played without the other half due to inconsistent bricking. Fortune Ladies get the advantage in Duel Links, however, allowing them to run a denser deck size greatly improves their consistency. Fortune Fairies, however, get the short end of the stick without their Skill, having only three zones to max out Miracle Stone on, and even then, it often isn't enough. That's why my Fortune Fairy deck pitches the ladies and calls in the Charmer archetpe for their support. Familiars summon for free, Link-Charmers give us a use for the 0-ATK bodies when we can't find Miracle Stone, and Awakening of the Posessed is an extra ATK-stacking-and-draws-for-playing-the-game Continuous Spell. On a good board, I have multiple 3K beaters varying from Links, XYZ, and Synchros depending on how I built my Extra Deck toolbox.
Can Prophecy of Strength increase Fortune Lady Every's Level indefinitely if you could stop your opponent from running out of cards in their deck? Prophecy of strength increases a monsters level by 1 and gives them 500+ attack by returning a spellbook card to your deck from your grave so you could never run out of cards and boost her indefinitely but how do you make your opponent not deck out? If I could continue this action could I make her a level 999?
Easy: Ditch the ladies, and go Fairies hybrid with the Familiars from the Charmer archetype, and the Link Charmers. Summoning a Link-Charmer while Awakening Of The Posessed is on the field will net an extra draw, and the monsters you steal from your opponent's GY will help you link climb into bigger monsters- I personally like Unchained Abomination, as it lets me destroy both my opponent's cards AND destroy my Familiars with monster-swarming floating effects. That said, Acesscode exists for a reason, I guess, and with 6 attributes of link chramers... that's alota damage. If you don't believe in Link-Climbing, however, the Familiars, Swee, and a tech-in Chocholate Magician Girl (for more deck-cycling draws) will double as Rank-4 fodder. Or when combined with the afformentioned Hikari into Effect Veiler, allows for easy Level 5 synchro acess, or just straight-up Relinquished Anima- be it to absorb an opponent's mosnter, or to convert your monster into a DARK attribute so you can summon the Dharc-Link monster. Either way, "Fairy Charmers" becomes a multi-3K beatstick fielding powerhouse of a deck. Glass cannon, but a cannon I've fired in Master Duel and even managed to win on occasion.
