It took this Dirt Jumper Build a year to complete. Shortages of mountain bike parts made this dirt jumper build a challenge. Through careful shopping and some creativilty, I got this one done at a fairly reasonable cost.

3rd way to install a star-nut: Use a phillips 1 screwdriver and a hammer. It must fit through the nut obvs and it must have a narrow handle so it doesn't push on the wings of the nut. It's much easier to keep it straight than just hammering on a short bolt and it doesn't load up the threads either. Edit: You'll need two hands to do it this way so I rest the bottom of the fork on a piece of wood (or something forgiving/non-marring), supporting the level part of the fork casting, not the rebound adjuster.

Aeolian thats my name that sprang to mind , the sound of the wind anyway theres nothing wrong with taking a year on a bike at least you got it finished ive got lots of half built bikes that will never get finished , even the one I ride isnt finished yet , cool video cheers

This looks like it'll be a nice build. Good frame only issue is threaded bbs. Also reminds me of my dj plan. Slightly different, tryna hit like a really high end build that's only what an average higher end build might cost. Not a full pimped out build. Like 23.5 ish pounds or less before any titanium... Reynolds 853 frame. Bomber dj or a pike dj. Little bit of cheap carbon fiber xD loo bmx race pivotal posts ftw. But mostly just smart average parts choice and a few trick bits. Btw mtb gyro info. Short pull brakes for bmx levers. And short pull for gyro anyways. Road mechanical discs work best.

Grease yo threads or use lock tite. Anti seize also works. Only required tool for any bb job. Regardless of other tools.

Just fyi. Gusset chain tugs work well on these frame…I have built three. They also come with three different length bolts just for shorter dropouts.

Thanks. I didn't realize Gusset makes those. I bought a set of Arcane tensioners a while back that cost me an arm and a leg and look almost identical.

beautiful I am so pumped on that bike what is the gear ratio i know ya got a 28 tooth up front but what is the rear look like ? and how does it feel ?

Thanks! It turned out great. The rear cog is 11 tooth. It's firm but feels good to me.

Sweet build! The Stolen crankset, was the spindle long enough that the crank arms cleared the frame? Any spacers needed?

Thanks. The spindle was plenty long. I used a spacer or two to get the chain line straight.

The rear wheel will fit. You will need the appropriate wheel for the front wheel depending on the fork. There are different standards out there. Spank is very good with dirt jump products and should be able to set you up with the correct front wheel.

I have the Void one Frame too. I have been having a hard time to keep the chain from lossening up. Any suggestions please

I pull the wheel tight and straight then tighten the drive side first. Then I tighten the non drive side. That has always worked for me. Another option is to use a half link chain and slam the wheel all the way forward. Some axels just tend to get loose no matter what. Arcane makes a short chain tensioner that might help. I haven't tried it yet but it looks small enough to work with the short Octane on dropouts.

You need an IS mount adapter. The threads are on the adapter.

Unfortun8 that the fork is a straight steerer. I would put a Pike on this bad boy. But still I can’t believe how it stayed around 1100 £!

I would have preferred a tapered fork but they were hard to find. A silver Pike would look amazing in this bike but out of my budget. Lots of careful shopping and some lucky breaks will save some money.

That crown race adapter that you’re using was the fork pretty solid with that frame even jumping ramps, and getting aggressive on the bike or did you ever have problems with it loosening up? Would that work with a rigid fork and a dirt jumper bike?

I didn't have any trouble with it. It never loosened on me. It should work the same on a rigid fork.

The dropouts were very short. Maybe they changed it. I was able to use an Arcane tensioner, which is very short. Standard chain tensioners were just too long.

There were a few reasons. I like the look and feel of a chromoly frame. I feel less bad about crashing one. I was able to get it for about the price of the Zircus frame. I would've been happy with either cromo or aluminum but this was too good of a deal to pass up.

If you're doing street/ park get a steal frame If you're doing dirt jumps/ a bit of park then get an aluminium

I'm thinking about getting a dirt jumper but I dont know where to start. is there a certain bike brand that specializes in dirt jumpers? or should I just individual parts?

Many brands will offer dirt jumpers as part if their larger product line. Some are more focused on them than others like NS Bikes. You can't go wrong with many of them. You can alway build your own but it's usually more expensive to do that. If you are looking to do some serious jumping the higher end the better the components. If you are just looking to roll the pump track and some small jumps you can get away with a cheaper model.

That's a Manitou fork. That's how they're designed. The reverse arch is supposed to improve rigidity while keeping the weight down.

@kingog9421 the Melt frame is fine for dirt jumping if you put a dirt jump fork on it. NS and Octane One are the same company. I like the Movement better. It has better cranks and the DJ fork. Otherwise, they are very similar.

I navigate to the website to buy the frame, it does not have any option to send to the United States of America, even though it has one distributing center in the U.S., the website has options to ship to pretty much every other countries including Republic of Congo, but NOT the the U.S.A. What the Fuck???????

It's possible that they have some kind of exclusivity agreement with the US distributor. It look like it out of stock everywhere though.
