Ah yes, a campaign ruined by your allies giving military access to your enemies... I remember an Ottoman Empire run where my dumbass Bulgarian puppet provided military access to Germany which led to Germany naval invading my holdings in Turkey and almost capitulating me. Fun! I haven't touched HOI4 since then because that entire situation made me mad as hell.

Commenting before watching the video: I stand by the doctrine, tank design and tank template. My mistakes were elsewhere. Edit: Okay, I had too much to say so I made a video response, uploading in a minute.

I think the mil access is not functioning properly in this most recent patch. Taking Norway as Sov after Germany does results in germany retreating into sweden, as they have mil access - makes sense - but then german units can attack out of sweden, a neutral country. Taking italy as the soviets results in the puppet giving mil access to the allies, including if you fight the allies. Allied troops and non-italian comintern troops have been skrimishing in soviet italy for 3 years in my campaign lmao

Part of the issue with the air is that you're flying over several air zones the enemy controls to get to the Italy airzone. This causes you to take a ton of additional losses before they even arrive in the airzone that are completely unnecessary. Recommend concentrating them in the air zone you want to control whenever possible, and making sure you have control of your own airzone when possible (though it was clear in here you could really only secure one to begin with given what you had). Will add edits as the video goes on instead of spamming more comments.

Vichy France mil access only needs 20 opinion. 1 spy on diplo pressure generates 20 at max, improving relations to 200 gives 20 as well. Some combo would get you mil access and the spy mission is basically free!

While I was watching this is just invented a disaster save because I was caught of guard when Lithuania joined the Comintern and the frontline is a mess (how to send disaster saves?)

My favourite Division template is 9-Inf, 2-Line Art, Engineers, Rangers, And Field hospitals. Plus or minus pioneers if you somehow have spare support equipment and AA if you need it. Shreds from day one and if you go down Superior Firepower it gets even better. I use this template ubiquitously and never have to go above extensive conscription.

The real place they should have sent this save file to is the paradox forums for bugfixing so that the devs can find out how/why Romania gave military access to germany when germany is at war with their overlord.

Video idea: Only use interwar planes and tanks, also you can only use basic infantry equipment. You can’t research anything else past 1937.

1:01 I have seen AI go through netrual country into the enemy land via military access(Players can't). I think that's what happened there; germany going through romania into bulgaria via military access. I think it's kind of a bug becuase from my experience, sometime AI go through netural countries and sometimes they don't.

The thing that makes Operational Integrity the best air doctrine is it gives the best buffs for everything concerning obtaining aerial supremacy. Strategic Destruction comes somewhat close in this regard, but Operational Integrity is just the best overall for this, and IMO the best thing an air doctrine can do is give you air supremacy. Also, Heavy MGs x4 across the board is generally the best way to go. Cannons, in my opinion, are not really good until 1945, and even when you get Cannon 2's it's still better to favor sticking Heavy MGs on your planes to keep costs reasonable.

I think the left and right air doctrines are the best for fighters. The only difference is which you pick if you want to strategically bomb or naval bomber meme. Since 99% of all countries don't have the industry for strat bombing and 100% should never do it against the AI unless you're roleplaying because of how boring and unecessary it is, you should almost always go right doctrine for fighters.

i use cas planes. 1936 model ---> bombs 4x machine guns. best engine and defense turrets. 1940 model i use same thing but more guns on it. with middle doctrine this cas outclass AI planes even on ground attack missions while AI try to interrupt. decent plane that does everything. good for countrys if you cannot afford fighter and cas at the same time

So weird to hear things like "Our Italian puppet is our main strength". I've been gunshy myself about puppets for a few patches because of things that happen with them that keeps burning me. Like puppets giving Military Access to my enemies. Or factions being able to call my puppets into wars when I don't want them involved due to the trash designs puppets tend to make and low unit counts as opposed to a "Secure" border through neutrality. Or in the case of a South American run I had about two patches ago, a case where all my puppets just randomly decided to be Italian Puppets and I had no say in it. They just instantly flipped ownership. ... there's so many bizarre and annoying things involving puppet nations for me that I've lately been avoiding them like the plague, even when it might have otherwise made sense.

Why don't you just use the field marshal bug? You give a general a garrison order on a country you can't get to, than put a field marshal frontline and attack plan. The units under the general still get planing bonus and you can micro manage the units how you like to. If you want I could even show it to you over Discord or something like that.
