I understand, glad you have your dedicated friend!! I also suffer from anxiety due to PTSD!! No amount of meds they throw at helps except xanax!! It have tears of happiness for you. I am broken, been to numerous specialist that don't know squat, they haven't seen the stuff I have and I refused to shoot anything EVERY again!! I no longer hunt!! Just the sound of a gun shot freaks me out!! I take no antidepressants, just xanan 1m in morning and 1 m in the evening since 2011. Sorry for the story, but I to have a furry friend that helps, although she has never been officially trained, she never leaves my side!! God I love dogs!!

Anxiety and Panic Disorder is no joke. You always see awareness about depression but never really anxiety. I personally have panic disorder and severe anxiety. Imagine the pain, fear and urgency of a heart attack. That’s what a panic attack feels like, but more frequent. It’s a living nightmare. You can literally experience/trigger a panic attack from the fear of having another one alone. It’s technically not “life-threatening” to have panic attacks unless you have a heart condition or asthma... lucky me I have asthma and my attacks can trigger my asthma, closing up my lungs and perpetuating my asthma attacks. Most of my friends and family memebers can’t understand it, but the look of fear on their faces when I’m experiencing an attack shows it all. It’s a lonely life. It persuades you to stay in your comfort zone and even going to the grocery store seems like a risk. But we keep pushing. :(

I’m so glad that you Both have each other❤️ I also struggle with bad anxiety, depression ect But whenever I’m with dogs ..i forget for a second all the pain and fear there is? Like i can go to places without having a panic attack when a dog is by my side..sadly my beloved dog died 2 months ago. I can’t imagine my life without them since I’ve been growing up with a dog ..and not having one around is painful and hard for me to live with. I asked my parents if we could get another one (we live in a huge house and have a big backyard) but they don’t want another one ..and now I just have to live with it and I’m alone again.

If you're wondering what dog breed he is, I'm 98% sure he is a Belgian Malinoi Pit Bull mix. And I'm about 2% sure he is just a Belgian Malinoi.

I’m getting a service dog for my Anxiety ADHD Trichotillomania dermotilimania and ocd personality type from a program hopefully!

Obvious credit to the dog but also GET THAT WOMAN AN ACTING JOB!! Like that “simulated” attack was re-enacted perfectly. Like obviously she has experience having them which is unfortunate but the way she conveyed that kind of emotion out of nowhere like thats incredible.

ithis is my first comment regarding my lab and my anxiety. i got hime in january 2020 when she was just one month. i have already having anxiety and sepression, panic attacks for almost three years. so i was under therapy and medicine. i was bullied in school for being a shy and anri=bullying person. also when i was 16 a man tried tomake me his girlfrieend . but luckily ii said to my parents and i was rescued from a huge liar. also i heard he had several other girls and also what he truly loved was my parents wealth. so i got into a terrible situation i was in a girl's school and never had male friends. so i was very carful and until today i haven't had a boyfriend and i'll suurely only marry via arranged marriage. so i got a bit out of topic. but at age 19 in 2020 i was going to do advanced level exam. but due to school bullying i had just stopped going to school as my best friend also went to another school due to passing very well in O/L. so my therapist recommended getting a labrador as emotional assistant dog. so i used to keep puppy beside me and started to study again and i was able to get a credit for computer science. also when i have panic attacks i would cuddle the dog and it would make me feel relaxed. so also as i was getting scared of bad dreams i took a sleeping pill. but after having dog now sometimes only i take it. also my therapist told me that i'll be able to stop my medicine totally in few weeks. so also when i feel a rolercoaster of emeotions i would just run with her in yard. also i trained her to relax me when i'm about to faint. before i used to faint several times in a day. but now rarely in a month occsasionally only. also i am thinking of getting a rottweiler . i am currently doing charted it and hnd planning to do top-up next year. so the best remedy for me for panic attacks is my dog.

My meds won’t help Therapy only helps while I’m there The people I live with almost kicked me out over my attacks. I gotta bottle it up. I had a dog and had to get rid of him :( I’m at a loss of how to calm my panic attacks. Someone help.

My cats helped me with mine animals are the real therapists

I lost my emotional support dog 5 months ago :( he was ran over on purpose by a salty neighbor. Just having him aorund helped my anxiety. I had prolonged anxiety today for about 4 hrs i almoat aksed my husband to take me to the E.R. i felt short of breath all afternoon, sweating fast heartbeat. I started feeling lightheaded then asked my husband and his friend in thebmiddle.of dinner to pray for me. They did at that second and within 10 mins i felt great. Carlos..my dog would bow his head while my husband prayed for me other times. I miss his sweet face. :(

Ugh anxiety is no joke, especially when it's that severe that you cannot go out, you cannot think straight, and you actually end up hurting yourself just trying to make the static stop, just desperate for relief. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder back in 2012, which brought with it a metric ton of anxiety. My boy is not a service dog, not a trained one anyway, but he always seems to know when I'm on the verge of a panic attack and he knows to get in my lap and protect my head from me punching myself or banging it against a wall. I wish I had had the forethought to train him to be a service dog, but he's 12 now so... maybe next time. x3

dogs are the BEST thing to EVER happen to humans!!! they work their way into our hearts and become our kids .. they teach UNCONDITIONAL LOYALTY AND LOVE !!!!!! I lost my baby in 2004 and i still miss her ! there are days that i don't think about her maybe 2 in the last 14years ..As Will Rogers said when i get to heaven (hopefully) and there are no dogs SEND ME TO WHERE THEY GO !! As another person wrote if you have never loved a dog then your soul is incomplete and you will NEVER know what UNCONDITIONAL LOYALTY AND LOVE is and i feel sorry for you!! One thing that a LOT of people DO NOT understand is when you get a pet YOU are saying to that pet I PROMISE TO LOVE ,FEED ,AND TAKE CARE OF YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE !!!!!!

I have severe anxiety, panic disorder and PTSD so I get it. The only thing about the pandemic that has been a blessing is not being around so many people and noise!!! If I could have a service dog I would. I know it would help me when having a panic attack in public which is horrible and embarrassing particularly when people don’t understand and just think you’re looking for attention. Really?!
