When I had my dog, I took good care of him. I didn't always have the money for the vet, but I let something go to pay the vet. Also, he was a long-haired dog like this one he had to be groomed. I feel bad for people who can't afford a pet for their family. I believe people who have should the money to help should step in and help a family pay for animal care.
I am a retired groomer and admire these two people for the love and care they put into rescuing and grooming these poor neglected dogs and helping them find a better life. Bless you both.
As a retired Animal Cruelty Investigator of 18 years, I can tell you what this young lady has done in grooming an animal in this bad of a condition is a highly skilled endeavor!! It is almost like being a surgeon! U need to know when and where to shave or cut, making sure the blades stay sharp and lubricated. Not letting clippers get hot. Keeping what u have already removed, from pulling on the skin while u continue to finish shaving or cutting what it is still connected to the skin. Along with so much more. This is why when I needed to have a dog in this condition helped, I ALWAYS took them to a groomer. Thank you for what you did for those dogs and so many others, I am sure!!
Oh, thank you very much. I must say that you are right. It was really tough. The hardest thing was handling dehydrated skin because it was so stretchy, that I could cut it in a second. So, yeah, support from people like you, with experience, has special meaning for me. I hope my Country will get Animal Cruelty Investigators someday. Thank you! ❤️
May I ask if you see progress after all those years? There is so much crualty on RU-vid and how much we don't get to see. It breaks my heart to see all the suffering of those sweet animals.
@nittepetit. I would have to say yes in the way of new laws on the books to protect them better and somewhat in changing people's minds as to realizing they DO have feelings. They feel pain, both physical and emotional. Letting dogs do what they are bred for as it makes them happy and keeps them healthy. Not every dog is a lap dog, BUT they all need PROPER nutrition and medical care. People being held accountable for the damage their animals do to person and property. I say that one because it all comes down to training. If u get a dog because u think it's a status accessory like, let's say, the Argentina DoGo or the Presa canaria. These dogs are hard-headed and should be with someone who has the space and knowledge to train them, PROPERLY. They will hurt or kill someone if not with someone who knows what they are doing. Too many of the protection/ big game hunting breeds end up at shelters and/or euthanize. This also includes really all other breeds as well because no one did the needed research of the breed b4 getting!! Once the newness wears off, they find that they really don't want the hassle. Sorry for the soap box. I have spent many days trying to educate lawmakers on these issues and many other issues. Just ALWAYS remember they become a family member and deserve the same love, care, and respect that any HUMAN in ur family does. So do the breed research and KNOW that they could be with you for 6-16 years.
Wow my father was a cruelty officer for 38 1/2 years. With the Humane Society in hennepin County mn.. nice to meet you ! I can't understand why some people even want dogs if they can't take care of them!😡

Because true traumatized dogs don’t act bad or show signs of aggressions. Truly traumatized dogs show signs of fear.. Spoiled mean dogs are the ones that act aggressive and difficult. Huge myth that trauma=aggression.

If I were the owner and I couldn’t afford professional grooming, I would trim my dog’s hair with scissors and I would brush and bathe my dog regularly. I would clip the nails., clean the ears and teeth and give my dog a comfortable, happy life. Mickey and Minnie both know that you are SAVING THEIR LIVES.
I dont think this was about affording professional grooming, as much as it is about sustained animal abuse. This pair look like they were kept confined on a mountain of thier own excrement, and possibly chained up very short ( look at thier necks). Urine burns on legs and undersides, from lying in it continually... I'd say they were owned by an unscrupulous puppy farmer who did not give a damn about thier comfort or welfare. Disgusting excuses for humans. I hope they were found out and jailed. I am callous eough to think that if they threw these dogs onto the street, it would only be because they were getting 2 more to take thier place ie for a future of hell.
@@lynneh9744 I agree. I had the same impression, puppy mill. My response was meant to be “in general”, not specific to this case. These two dogs are lucky to be alive. Groom House and the lady who found them saved their lives.
@@lynneh9744 And the replacement breeding pair are most likely the brother and sister offspring of Mickey and Minnie, who are probably also brother and sister. I’m as cynical as you are. I’ve been in animal rescue for a long time and I’ve seen things that still give me nightmares 20 years later.
I adopted a two year old Maltese doggie who had been rescued from a puppy mill. She's twelve now. She was timid and scared of everything in the beginning. She didn't even know how to walk on the leash. Even though she's twelve, she still gets the zoomies and when I come home, even if I'm only gone for half an hour, she jumps on me just like Mickey and Minnie do at the end of this video. We don't deserve dogs!🥹

I get the feeling these two were probably victims of a puppy mill situation. The two of them were probably no longer "worth keeping" in their condition so they tossed them. I was so happy to see them at the end of the video so much happier and healthier, thank you for what you two do!

Uhhh, seeing them in real life was really tough... Especially because we didn't know if they would make it. Lots of fear, mixed feelings... Real struggle. But luckily, in the end, they survived, and they are happy now.❤️🥳
