made my own sub ROV for under $200, not as fancy but just as functional for retrieving GOPROs and boats at the bottom.😁😁😁 thanks Kev!

Fun toy, same controls as flying a drone but much slower - 3 knots. Using a phone/ipad is ok but after a few dives you will go FPV where it really puts you in the water with the fish! First time a salmon bumped me from the side and went full screen on my FPV goggles I had my JAWS moment! Already did lots of videos on this ROV and having a blast!

they've using similar (but more powerful, professional, deeper depth versions) in the offshore oil industry up here for years, used for quick reccy's sometimes before sending in full on ROV, just be careful you dont tie yourself in knots or get it snagged on something obv, looks a decentish bit of kit :)

Check Subfilms and R/C boats to see the FIFISH in action. They are often used to show the bottom of ships (drives, rudders, etc.) and underwater views of R/C subs.

maybe not crawler (water wouldn't be deep enuf unless you're just using it as a stationary waterproof camera) but defo xmass pond crossing on paddle tyres etc, be a pretty cool shot seeing it skimming over the water from underneath :)

At $2000, this is no toy, but my 47 inch Shelley Foss R/C Tug is over two and a half times that, and not finished with the detailing. It is all relative. More for someone running R/C boats, and especially subs than land vehicles. It certainly would have been nice to have one in my old club, Smokey Mountain Maritime Modelers, when a $10,000 replica of a Civil War sub went missing in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am in Texas now, but have run boats, real and R/C in Alabama, Florida, Colorado, California, New Mexico and Texas as well as the Philippines and Puerto Rico. I can think of a number of times when this would have saved hours of SCUBA work and tens of thousands of dollars! I hope you get to the water soon to test it out. You might think of videoing a MaxxTraxx or similar running on the surface of the water. It would be interesting to see from below, especially in slow motion!!!

In the clips it shows you it diving but if you found something like a gold coin there's nothing on the submersible to pick it up with like a Grab or Claw So not so hot for me May be if they put one I may spend my money

i see a problem already personally being tethered you should be careful as to doing to many rotations as the twisting will in turn be transferred to the tethercable which is also the electronics hardline
