The idea is that our "good works" still aren't that great or glorious or worth putting on display. The dishes on display disposable dishes, plastic and styrofoam etc.

That's not worship though. God warns against that kind of "experience." He wants us to love Him, the kind of deep love a child has for a father. Not the kind that lusts. Not the kind that is ruled by emotion. The old testament is full of people worshipping God, and they are great examples of what worship should really look like.

@TehButterflyEffect - would you care to cite any scripture references warning against "that kind of 'experience'"? I think you are wrongly attributing "lusting" to that type of worship service. Of course I'm speaking in generalities because I wasn't in the particular room Jordan was talking about, but having emotions be a part of your worship has nothing to do with lust. And I'm not even talking principally about emotions. I'm talking about one's spirit being fully engaged in the worship. Emotions can often be an outflow of that, but they are symptomatic rather than causative. There can be intellectual outcomes, too, but the spirit level is the foundational one. Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4 that the Father seeks true worshipers who worship Him in spirit and in truth. He set that in the context of "a time is coming and now is", which suggests that fundamental changes were coming to worship, relative to what the Samaritans and Jews had known up to that point. Yet you just have to look at David dancing before the ark of the covenant to see that some had the revelation long before that point. Note that David also institutionalized 24/7 worship, not just 3-hour services.

I agree, I love singing to the Lord with like minded believers, I can repeat a chorus for a while. He's so worth all the adoration I can give Him! I can't give Him enough :D Praise the Lord!
