For those asking, this is on 2002 Flight Simulator and it was added for sensitivity around the time of the event, as debris was still being cleared and bodies recovered. No modern day flight simulator will crash or ban you for this! Edit: Can definitely see how people got mislead by this, apologies and will do better with clarification in the future ✊
The misinformation being spread is crazy. Microsoft Flight Simulator itself won't ban you from recreating the events of 9/11. This is a rule that applies and is enforced on the ATC network VATSIM, in the VATSIM rules it states that you are not allowed to recreate or use callsigns from past tragedies. So, you can do whatever you want in base Flight Simulator, but there are rules to be followed on networks like VATSIM or IVAO.
@bobc.6746 it really isn't. When you purchase a product, say a video game, you are actually purchasing a license to use a particular bit of software. Said license has a EULA, an End User License Agreement. Failure to follow said agreement, removes the license. When using an online service, failure to follow the EULA for said service results in a removal of the ability to use the service, more commonly known as a ban. So in the future remember, you aren't really buying a game, you're buying a license.
@@FokkeWulfe Again, wrong. When you buy a product, you buy the rights to it. They can't deny you the use of a purchased product. That only prevents you from copying it.
@@Normal1855 you buy the rights to the license, in the case of a video game. The gamedev still retains the ownership of the software. Moreover, as I said, in online services, the owners of said services do have the right to prevent you from using the services, should you violate the EULA. Have you actually *read* any? It's not just copy prevention. So, no it isn't illegal. But, here's what I propose. Take it to court next time you're banned. It'll be Civil court, but that won't matter. Take the entirety of the EULA and show why it's illegal that you have been banned from using the service. After the Judge and the Defense are done laughing hysterically, you will be shown exactly why it isn't illegal, and then encouraged to never use their services again.
Yeah I’m sure the people who typed in “9/11” on Microsoft flight simulator were completely unaware of what that date meant. Microsoft is completely erasing history by not letting you play a fictional game on a date you can Google in 3 seconds.
@@IsItActuallyWorthIt they could have just removed the towers from any time or if they tried, just have a pop up telling you that you can’t do that and resetting the plane
It's to prevent anyone from creating terroristic acts or recreations. If you really want to crash into a tower the one world trade center is still a thing although you'll just bounce off it
That's strange...... On a different note, you should look up the rate of gravity and i don't know..... apply it to things you know... Food for thought, and a nice rabbit hole to poke around in
"Prevent players from crashing into and (pretending to) destroying the towers, by removing the towers." They became the sole thing they swore to destroy.
Banning someone, for using something they paid money for is illegal. And no, just because it says you can be banned in the tos, doesn't make it legal. Time for a lawsuit.
Anyways, here is a brownie recipe. Ingredients: - 1 cup unsalted butter - 2 cups granulated sugar - 4 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 1/2 cup cocoa powder - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional) Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C) and grease a baking pan. 2. Melt 1 cup butter, mix with 2 cups sugar. 3. Add 4 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla; mix well. 5. Sift in 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, and 1/5 tsp salt; stir. 1. Optional: add 1 cup nuts or chocolate chips. 2. Pour into the pan, bake 25-30 mins. 3. Cool completely, Cut into squares, and enjoy your brownies!
@@sweetwater6319 This is a fallacy. A person can believe that 9/11 was tragic and play a video game that contains it. Recreating such events in a game is independent of the event itself. For example, WWII was tragic, but people still play WWII video games, because playing a video game of WWII is a factor independent of whether or not the event was tragic.
@@tyhatch3771Why Tf Are You Even Trying To Recreate A Terrorist Attack? Besides Read The TOS Before Being Angry That U Cant Recreate 9/11 . You Don't Own It Its A License And They Can Revoke You.
Bro imagine a game being like "You can crash into anything but if you crash into those towers I'll ban you" Yo 11k is crazy, wtf wrong with yall, all I did is pretty much restate what going on in the video, like tf
@@RaviVemula2 thats not true also, they trained flying in flight simulator, the kind they use to teach professionally or in the military. They didnt just load up Microsoft flight simulator.
@@kh-wq4jbno no you speak nothing but lies. They used Roblox airplane simulator to train, they tried to jump out but who would’ve known that jumping up once or pressing the E button doesn’t immediately eject you out of the plane 💀
Imagine designing a game where unbeknownst to you, people are recreating a tragic event and posting videos. Now the game devs and their game look bad like they intended it. MSX dont want that publicity
@@Wtfinc yeah i get that, this comment wasn't supposed to make fun of them banning players it was just what i thought when i heard that and thought some people might find it funny so
@@Wtfinc But Activision does 😂 Sry, my point is that these guys could learn something from the big time players and just stand behind your creation instead of being a bunch of ninnies
People who put their date to 9/10/2001 and waiting till the morning: *Never let em know your next move.* NEVER LET THEM KNOA UR NEXT MOVE I MIGHT CHANGE THIS COMMENT TO SOMETHING STUPID ON A RANDOM TIME :)
How so? This isn't denying 9/11 happened. Its just saying "Don't recreate one of the largest terror attacks in human history for jokes." An ATLA equivalent would be like if Zuko forbid plays making fun of the time his father literally burned half of his face off
Changing the date & time in the simulator does not actually change the landmarks around you, so even if you did set your time to September 11th 2001, nothing would change. There are however, 3rd party addons that add historical landmarks such as the WTC.
“Oh boy I just spent all my money on this game it better be good…WOW THIS IS SO GREAT! Hmmmm, I know! Let’s entire my wedding date so I can revisit the best day of my life!” -Famous final words
Oh nice! I think flying to New York would be best for your honeymoon i know a place which used to be neartwin towers where theres a Baker-**Gets yeeted*
One thing that bothers me the most is people taking ish about 9/11. Yeah I get dark humor, but it seems this really bothers people. When you witness it live in person, it hits different. Way different! Watching dozens of innocent people jump to their death isn’t something easily removed from your memory. I’ve taught about it at least once a day since it happened.
Personally think it is neither good nor bad, using the nuke on Japan as an example, Japan definitely deserved everything they got, but massacring a population like that isn't good or justifiable either. No point in trying to fight over it imo. There will always be different opinions.
@@NolifeWest The goverment of Japan did deserve it,the people who were just minding their own lives?Nope, and USA isn't punished for that(It's just my opinion no means to start a fight)
@@Erased_UnityXDX understandable and respectable view, and I agree, innocents should never pay. But that's not how war works sadly. Neither side deserved the deaths they got, except maybe as you said the Japanese higher ups. But as a citizen of a nation what your nation and government do affect the entire population. including innocents. Again, neither sides are justified and yes, many innocent people were killed. But so were Innocent Americans and soldiers at that. Do I think the murders were ok? No. Do I think the nuclear bomb was overkill? Also no. You can't attack the military of one of the worlds if not the world's strongest country at the time and not expect large retaliation. That's my take on things at least. And I don't believe the US deserves punishment either, Japan has commit many war crimes and attacked a nation that wasn't even involved in their war. And also at the time nuclear bombs weren't considered war crimes. So the US' actions at the time weren't even illegal.
Ah yes Microsoft flight simulator, famous for having 100% accurate 3d scans of all world events with the inability to alter them if needed It's almost like if there was something to hide they could do it in any way they wanted, and this isn't an indication of anything
@@CamWick well thats just like any game. GTA literally has you killing people, COD and MW have war in it, and many other games mimic what you dont want now. Very ignorant of you to assume that doing something that effected people in the past means your trying to bring out the negative aspects as a sort or weird trolling attempt. it is indeed sensative game devs.
