I'd have accepted responsibility for my mistake but NOT contacted the buyer other than possibly to say "hope you enjoy the dynamite deal you got on this item. I made a mistake when sending the offer, but that's on me."

I always wrap shoes in cellophane before putting them in bins. Sometimes dark leather shoes and bleed onto light colored shoes .. just a tip 😍

I love selling neck ties, Nobody looks at them in the thrift store so Zero competition and you only have to remember 10-15 brands that go for 30 and up. $3 in 30+ everyday multiple times a day.

Yikes! Too painful. As a rule, I don’t do offers. I always select immediate payment so has to be fixed. Buyers ask anyway and I change the listing to an agreed price. 31 orders? I’m at a loss for words. How? Wow!

Like you Ebay vids. Comment on your custom sku... I use the same bin system, but on my stickers that I put on clothing bags, I use the bin number and the last 4 numbers of the Ebay listing ID. Fast and easy to find and confirm correct item.

@2:21 "I sent out an offer for $7.00". I made this same mistake selling a $40.00 item and sent an offer for $5.00 instead. In my case (maybe yours as well), I accidentally clicked on the offer button for 'total amount' when I thought I was clicking the 'percentage off' offer button after putting a '5' in the amount field. I honored the sale.

I would have canceled the sale and refunded his money with an explanation. Most buyers will understand especially if they are also sellers. Just take a hit on your account and do what you said, don’t make offers when your tired or distracted. Best day to send out offers are on Sundays and that’s the only day I send offers out, especially if I have best offers on the listings and I’m not counter offering. Oh well lesson learnt!

Great video, very nice variety of sales. Is this from a weekend or just 1 days sales? One thing I don’t like about offers is if a customer makes an offer it last 24 hours but when sellers make an offer we can’t make any changes for 48 hours. Do you allow offers on All of your items? Do you use the auto accept/reject price points? Thanks. Btw as a seller & Nikon shooter I would have understood and canceled the sale. As a seller it would pain me to pack it up. Be Blessed 😇. Yeah, the $3.99 is for those lighter First Class items. Sometimes I lose a few cents, and sometimes I make a few cents... but I think it mostly evens out at the end? I've just done it for the longest time, and haven't changed it up to be honest though hahah

Buyer's typically have recourse when sending offers, I wonder if Ebay has the same system for seller's? It may have been too late considering the buyer already paid but I guess you could have tried to reach Ebay to see if they could assist. Either way, props to you for honoring the sale.

To anyone who says they would cancel the order, just think for a minute, would you pay $60 to have a negative feedback and strike on your account removed? I absolutely would pay up for that, and this is no different. Yes, they can leave negative feedback for a canceled order, and that negative wouldn't be worth the potential of making another $60ish on the item. Mistakes happen, same as if the item was dropped when putting it away after listing.

Its a known eBay glitch Josh. Has happened to a lot of us. Its been a discussion several times in a Facebook reseller group I belong to. It could have been human error, but please know, its also a known eBay issue.

I usually give an explanation and try to give the buyer a good deal as opposed to the mistake. Usually they say no it's okay, go ahead and cancel. At the point I just honor the deal I gave them.

16:30 It looks like this item was listed for less than 2 weeks. You offered 15% off. Is that usually what you offer on your best offers? It seems a little aggressive to me with such a new listing. I just like to turn-over inventory quickly. My cost of goods is low enough that I feel comfortable accepting those offers. I've found that I end up making more money at the end of every month when I turn-over items faster. I think it snowballs, since you can take the money you made and buy more inventory with it. It requires you to list more often, but I think it's worth it!

I use poly mailers for clothing that weight less than 1lb. You can send them USPS First Class, which is cheaper than the flat rate padded envelope rate!

I would have canceled, mistakes happen. But I understand cuz I have always honored the price when I've made a mistake. I am learning though that it's okay to cancel if I make a mistake, so maybe next time I will cancel if I make such a mistake. Once, I accepted a $30 offer for a goose down North Face jacket when I meant to decline, I had already listed it low for $50, and someone lowballed me, I should have canceled. I think when making such a big mistake, it's best to cancel because I will probably be beating myself up for a long time after such a mistake.

5:41 Good evening Josh, I have total shelves envy here :) I got myself some 48x18x72 shelves from a Costco warehouse today. Unfortunately I can't fit 3 of my bins (similar to yours) because the usable width (inside measurement from left post to right post) is 45.5" and I really need 46.5". What's the usable width for the shelves you got if you don't mind doing a quick measurement? I will get those if it can solve my bin dilemma. Cheers, Julien

@Josh How do your bins fit on the shelves 3 at a time? The measurements on amazon make it look like they should not :) since the shelf is about 45.5" wide (between the poles) and the bins are around 15.5" wide each.

I ended up honoring the sale. Just had a gut feeling that it was the right thing to do. Also, didn't want to cancel since the buyer didn't agree to have the sale cancelled. It could have potentially hurt my eBay metrics / seller rating.

You have some really good sales and some bread and butter. I remember when you were selling those Bugatchi shirts for much higher prices, at least you got your money back.

I would have canceled the order myself on my end and said the package got damage during prep and take the eBay hit on my account. It won’t show up viewable to anyone or hurt you.

That right there is the problem with ebay. Anyone can LIE to get out of anything and they get away with it... ebay would be alot better if more people were honest like him
