I actually started making holsters like this for my EDC a bit ago. Definitely changed my EDC game. I don't have to worry about my Leatherman or flashlight jingling around or falling out of my pocket, and I always remember to take everything with me when I leave the house
I’ve made a few organizers for inside pocket carry, but haven’t made one yet for on-the-hip carry. I think I’ll make one like this for a flashlight & my Leatherman Wave (w/clip) or Spyderco Delica 4.
Growing up in Texas and on and off ranches it reminds me of what a lot of guys had. It would just carry a traditional knife but you can count on us having them on our hip
I carry my EDC stuff in coin purses with two to four pockets on them. The left one holds a flashlight, a Leatherman Squirt, and a BIC Lighter. The one on the right holds my cash (in the center pocket) plus the small and regular size Swiss Army knives, plus an eyeglass repair kit, plus P-38 and P-51 can openers in the other smaller pockets. These do create some bulge in my pockets, since I also carry a plastic wallet insert with my ID and cards in the left pocket and a medical tool holder (like nurses have clipped to their belts, but without the clip) as a pocket organizer which holds my pens and a tactical pen and my comb in the right pocket. The advantage to using coin purses is that nothing rattles around against each other in the pocket and everything is laid flat and nothing falls out of the pockets ever. The one caveat is that coin purses have weak zippers - if you try to rip them open, you'll destroy the zipper, so be very careful when opening them. But the ones I use have lasted my several years now. I'd like to find a more efficient way of carrying things (I do have some ankle carriers I use for carrying a larger Leatherman and a 3-inch folding knife), but spending $85 for a piece of leather to carry two or three items is not in the cards.
I would love this but it's just not practical for a white collar working environment. Speaking of, I don't know if you've done this theme before but I'd love to see a white collar, suit required, edc theme.
Might work if you got the black leather one. (I assume you are wearing black pants) It would also be less noticable if you used the one that only holds a knife as it would be smaller.
@@BestDamnEDC White collar/suit environment EDC weekly would be siick! I'm in the UK, so attitudes here are different. I reckon a normal EDC here is quite similar to the 'white collar' stuff you guys are carrying.
Totally agree, and carrying a knife on your belt in a typical corporate environment probably isn't going to go over well regardless of how corporate-looking the holder is. 😁 My solution is to keep things small. On a keychain I carry a small medication tube, a Spyderco Manbug, Fenix LD02 and a Leatherman Style PS. Fits into my dress pants with no problem and is truly my EDC. I have other more typical EDC items I carry in addition to those when I'm outside of work.
Nathaniel Prentice, LCSW, CAS-PC i am a civilian with a large PD. I was sporting a knife rig like this. It can be to easily mistaken for a firearm. I was brought into a classroom full of cadets and a gun call was made identifying me as carrying a firearm. Just saying
yep. I live in California and made one like this to carry a zt561, a flashlight and a pen. Went into it to pull the pen out and 5 minutes later I had 3 officers guns drawn telling me to put my hands up and don't move fast. After 10 minutes of what I can only discribe as total fear for my life. I was let up off the ground. The officers suggested I maybe not use that kind of carrying device. Some people are a little tweeky when they see something they don't understand. It's one of my favorite ways to carry but I don't like the added contact with law enforcement.
rekozma I am sorry but that’s dumb !!! So your telling me my leather phone case, since work makes me carry two phones, would get me shot? Since it looks exactly like this ?!
Totally totally disagree with people saying this will get you shot. I have to carry two phones because of work. The leather phone case looks almost exactly like this. So now I would be shot for my phone?
Really nice. I could definitely use this for my work EDC. If only it was a better price point like the others have commented on. Quality looks really good. I would definitely give it a try if it was in the $45 range.
You can rear carry your pistol or move this to the left side! It'll just be harder to take off in a hurry without almost completely undoing your belt. lol
I dig this but speaking of pistol... coming from a law enforcement stand point... if this rig isn’t 100% conceited and say only the bottom portion is exposed I’d definitely expect some looks or attention.
This is actually very nice for me , I am an electrician and I always use a knife and I have a tilting head Milwaukee flashlight that is a little large for most holders. I'm going to use some old leather work boots to try and make my own pouch
Now that is something I can get behind! The main reason I don’t carry all my EDC’s with me is that things like flashlights take up to much pocket space.
I bought a Tale Of Knives holster cut exactly like this one, but the leather is definitely not supple or soft. This isn't a problem, and I think I would like mine better than the flimsy version you reviewed, but viewers should be aware that current versions of this holster are being made with a very different type of leather.
Bought an inside the pocket and a belt holster like this in black. Looking forward to seeing how well they work out for me. Thanks for the link and honest review.
I like this organizer and I'm looking forward to buy one myself. Thank you for sharing! I did a lot of searching , but without a result... btw, I like your channel!
Happy to see you do a video on this product because I think you mentioned it on a previous video a while back, and I ordered one. Haven’t received it yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to having something to carry my knife and flashlight on my belt and free up an extra pocket.
Merry christmas to you and your family. I just found your video but will continue to be looking forward to bigger and better things up come . As an older person I even have dump pouches for ammo most people remember Barney fife and his empty gun . As a firefighter emt I carried a pouch with a buck knife medic scissor and a mini flashlight
I think it's a cool idea. I just like to see the knife and flashlight holders separately and horizontal. Then you can put your knife on one side and your flashlight on the other. It would also be more concealable and look less like a gun holster if someone got a flash of it.
I like the idea but here's my problem with it if its suppose to be concealed i would image you would get looks i had to go with a shoulder holster because it was to much weight on my belt with the rest of my edc but on the flip side i can see where it can be useful Thanks for another great video. As always be safe have a blessed day.
I do leatherwork and what you have there in your hands is called chrome tanned leather. You can tell because it is nice and soft. Feels great but here is the deal, it is not good for use with sheaths or holsters because the chromium will react with the metal of your gun/knife and the loser in that transaction is always the metal. So, this item is not good long term in my opinion. If this item were made with Veg tanned leather, then it would be good to go. Maybe the maker makes both, I don't know. But the one on this video i am 98.93795% sure is chrome tanned. Also, it is way overpriced.
@@johnimmenschuh222 The one that is overpriced is chrome tanned. The one I recommended which costs twice as much is Veg tanned leather. Not the same thing. But you do have a point, they are both a little pricey. Here is a better option: www.etsy.com/listing/658087904/edc-belt-sheath-7-long-made-in-usa-from
If you're having problems with the pm2 falling out take off the pocket clip and bend it in a little bit so that it has a tad more retention in your pocket.
Hey, it would be really nice if you showed how to carry a pocket organizer(with video showing how it looks in the pants) plus what clothes you think would be used for. I haven’t been able to see how pocket organizers look in pockets only seen them out.
I'd like to take the concept step further and turn it into a under arm/shoulder holster but instead of keeping a gun or spare magazines you'd keep pens, pencils, phones, note books, USB's, wallet, keys, knifes, Multi-tools, earbuds, torches, hip flasks or any other thing you may want in your EDC, within reason of course
When your knife and flashlight are clipped to the backside on opposing front pockets they really don't take up much space and easley accessable and you can carry whatever you want but if you feel you need to waste your money trying to fit your gear and probably have to change it to fit on an expensive carrier go for it
Head out in the field or do an over-night'er. It is one thing to see expensive hipster insta snaps of gear laid out all fancy. Let's actually see something truly being unitized, real world application (other than opening more Amazon boxes in the office.) A simple key can be used to open most boxes.
I have one of the clones (cheap) one, good soft real leather like this one, but because is too soft and nice struggles with sr1 knife clip and when I pull it out the whole pouch bent out so you have re adjust the pouch in order to re hostler the knife. Not a deal breaker but something to think about if you have to pull your knife/tool all day.......... solution: I attached contour to the hostler a sheet of polymer plastic, stiff but semi bendable in the back with 4 belt openings not 2 like the original
At the price of these! I’ve got an old holster that looks just like this in my closet, that I can sew right up just off center and make this for near nothing
It's very nice, but my Leatherman nylon snap sheath efficiently carries both my Wingman and mini LED flashlight, and all three items together cost less than this holster.
I agree completely. I love leather products to death. I’ve had a Geuss leather wallet for about 4 years and the person I bought it from had it for few years already. 40$ sounds more realistic to me.
People complain about the price. What they don’t know, is that Jeremy makes everything by hand! and makes it all by himself, and there’s a waiting list.
Those other pocket organizers seem like they would be great for a jacket pocket. I don't have one but I can see them being way too heavy in a pants pocket but I think they would be perfect for the inside pocket of a jacket. Does your edc ever change based off of the clothes you wear?
I like the video, especially your call back to 80s movies with clip montage and music. I immediately thought this would have been a fanny pack video after that opening.
I need one that will fit my Leatherman Rebar,my Thrunite TC-15 and a pen but I can’t find one ANYWHERE...if I could go back,I would’ve got a Leatherman Wave and an Olight of some sort because belt pouches are everywhere for this setup..lol
Great item! I dont get the criticisms. this would work in any environement. As for the cost its not the cost of the material your paying for but the proven design and time it takes to make it as well as the tools. Unless you want to take half a day to go buy whats needed to make it and then sit down and stitch it etc. If not your paying about $15.00 and hour for aomwone else to make it. at keast thats the time it wouls take you vs the cost your paying them. makes sense to me.
Print through is tough enough with a firearm; with this, I would look armed when I don't want to look armed. Of course, I could get a Swiss Army Knife with a pen and flashlight built in, and avoid the armed look.
Duuude I was looking at something like this today on Etsy Also Taylor, question my edc setup is very beginner but I still want to submit it how do I do it on the site if I’m already registered?
it looks better on his wife....j/s...back in the late 70's-early 80's there were several EMT belt holsters that held a knife, flashlight, scissors, bite stick and clamps, they were about half again as long as that holster but kept the essentials easily accessible. I wear suspenders so this belt model wont work for me, Ive done several prototypes for suspenders but nothing I've been truly happy with
This could be a work uniform type accessory. EDC I clip my knife, no light necessary enough to carry on me, but its in my bag. But somewhere its perfect size for work stuff but prob too expensive. Make some nylon ones
Likely. Maybe different leather and thread colors and might hold other type of gear. I don't know for sure, he didn't say. Some ladies carry PM2s, too. lol
Ive been wearing a holster like that on my belt for years....you featured it lol. My problem is ouside of work i wear skinny jeans and thats an issue when you lile knives and flashlight im getting the belt clip one.
I’m really interested! Could you do me a giant favor and tell me if a leatherman skeletool will fit in the knife compartment on the specific model you have?
I can't find my Skeletool right now, but I'm pretty sure it will fit just fine. It's smaller than the Signal. You'd just have to go clip out on that one, since the pocket is probably a bit deep for the Skeletool.
Wish they would put a pen hold on the xl version. Thinking about getting the trio version, but not sure I like the metal clip, being that I'm a bigger guy.
@william Lidgett, in my state, people are used to seeing good citizens with guns on their belts. And guess what!? Those citizens are not causing any problems. So the people who create big hassles when they think they've seen a gun, are the problem. EDC sheaths are not the problem.
@william Lidgett, good point. In a Constitution respecting state, it wouldn't matter if it's a gun, EDC organizer, or both. But in a pinko Nazi/Commie state, it would be a huge problem. And still, the organizer is the least of their problems. Cheers.
My s2r has become my car flashlight, I love it but it’s too big for me to want to edc it in my pockets, with this belt sheath I might start to edc it again
