You should aim your anger at RU-vid as well. They made it so that 8+ mins videos get at least twice the exposure. I hate it too, it's stupid, but that's how they've set it up to be. I have a channel with 40k subscribers, where I have tons of work into 2/3 mins cinematics that barely get any reach, whereas my more simple 10+ mins videos all got at least ten times as many views.

Great tutorial, thanks. One thing I’m wondering about is that could you combine multiple trackings after one and the other? I see these with cars and in one shot, the tracking point kinda changes in a smooth way, but cannot figure out how it is done. May I ask your opinion?

You can do this *without* having a speed-change! Just skip 00:25 - 01:27. Tho it WILL be applied on that whole clip, so instead of using _'Ctrl+R'_ & _'Add Speed Points',_ just use _'Blade Edit Mode'_ to "select" that special part that will have this function. I am kinda new, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I got it to work😋

So helpful. I always used the point tracker and hated life when it didn’t consistently work. This is a game changer. A tip I use to speed this up: You can also click the transform button in Fusion instead of typing it in everytime - saves me a few seconds here and there. I also created a custom toolbar (right click where the transform is) and added in a Planar tracker! You can have all your frequently used effects here for quick access.

Yea. If it stops in the middle of tracking just move the points somewhere else

@@JamieFenn are you also able to stop the track in the middle of a track forward? With the tracker node (not planar) it doesn’t allow to track frame by frame it just gives the option to track forward but sometimes the track gets thrown off when something obscures the track point

im rly down right now, i just came home from a shoot and watched my footage, even tough i tried to use the right walking technique my footage is still shaky (used gimbal of course) and the normal stabilization of davinci only makes it worse.. i really hope this method helps, i think i probably also walked to slow and i should walk a little bit faster

Bc of u i found the motivation to do some car edits. so i filmed my shots with a gimble today, but quickly realised, that the clips are sometimes pretty unstable. i went to yt for ur other tutorials and saw this. youre the man thank u so much, u made my day

Looking at this is making me want to hurry up my transition from PP to DR. Resolve is looking like it can almost completely replace AE when it comes to effects. 3D is another case. But as an editing software it seems like DR is slowly becoming the industry standard. I take it you would probably 110% recommend the transition.

can we do triple monitors instead of dual screen!!! reason asking bc I'm in need of three monitors because I use three cameras for work. When I'm editing, I prefer to have three monitors to display each camera's footage separately. This makes it much easier for me to review and select clips during timeline editing. What frame rate and shutter speed did you shoot at? Did you have to increase your shutter speed to avoid any motion blur? I’m new at all of this 😊

Frame rate either 60 or 120 fps for shots like this. I like motion blur so I keep shutter 1/2 (like normal) and project settings are either 24 or 30 fps.

jamie, i recently upgraded to 18.1.4 davinci and i'm not liking the new layout at all. it's harder to work with i find and clunky viewing with everything slightly bigger so just harder to work with. and the color grade section lost its separate qualifier and curves panel in the lower middle... is there a way to revert back to the older 18. version? how are you finding it?
