Glad you're enjoying big sword, unfortunately as you have realised in this game specifically they have destroyed recovery time on attacks. But fuck what everyones saying youve gotten quite good really quickly and your final part of the last maliketh fight was truly really good. Ive been rocking the same build pretty much except for faith as well to just be an absolute beast with beast type incantations. Glad youre making elden ring vids and be sure to try out pvp for a vid, look at builds that look fun cus this game has the most variety and just have fun. It would be great to see you integrating into the souls community 😅. P.S. You dont have to prove your skills by stripping yourself and doing a sl1 run, no hit, no mimic, no maidens type playstyle. Use the cheese, we been cheesing for years but these gatekeepers think its funny to I guess think theyre better than you because you used a subjectively easier build meanwhile theyve been sweating ds3 pvp since the game came out. nah but fr love the change in content, keeping shit fresh, but like also its not like cod been doing you any favours recently.
The thing is, the feeling YOU will get when you beat a hard boss from your own merits and skill and not using summons or magic is unlike any other. Most gatekeepers gate keep not for themselves and proving clout, but because they did this and they know the feeling. It’s unrivaled. Try it. Beat malenia without summoning or using magic. No better feeling in the world. You truly feel like the king of the entire world when you do it.

This isn't a case of gatekeeping cus wow the experience is amazing if you beat the game using this build specifically, this is gatekeeping cus your merits are invalid because you didnt beat the game with this build specifically. Ive seen the difference in chats between games and god Elden ring so far has been the most toxic. Thats why he keeps feeling the need to tell people mage was also difficult at times cus he feels like everyone is invalidating his ability. Your point makes sense if this wasnt the shitty side of the souls community that shits on others because they struggled on a boss you didnt. More power to you though, you clearly understand the fun without being a dick and i respect that highly brother. The only time I will ever turn toxic towards someone who uses mechanics like magic and summoning to beat bosses is if they claim the game is too easy or that the bosses suck afterwards. That’s the point where I will tell someone to do it with no summons and magic and then talk. And then I get called toxic. No. I’m not toxic. Someone who knowingly makes a boss as easy as possible and then complains that it was too easy is toxic. But that’s just me. If someone wants the game to be easier and willingly uses these items knowing it will be easier, that’s fine. Not everyone has it in them to learn a boss like malenia for hours on end. This game can truly be beaten by anyone with enough perseverance and that’s great. But don’t call the game trash and the bosses shite if you knowingly made them that way. Because let me tell you a mimic turns basically every boss in the game into a normal enemy that stands no chance. It’s crazy how easy the mimic and some spell make this game.

Completed my first playthrough as melee and am working on my second as mage and so far the mage playthrough has been much easier but I also already know the bosses movements from the previous playthrough so I know how I need to play even with mage despite not playing it yet. It definitely is a different playstyle but both can be cheesy as hell.
hey I think you'd really enjoy the Black Knife Tiche summons instead of the mimic summons. it does a great amount of damage over time and dogged attacks quite fluently.
Agro changes not from only attacks like previous games it’s a little smarter in elden ring where just your presence of being nearby can cause a change in agro
Bloodhound Step is great for bosses who have delays, fast combos, and aoes. It really helps the melee class against those somewhat faster moving, arguably annoying bosses because you can also close the distance. It's a defensive moveset that can be turned into offense fast if you control it right. Keep it coming Jev!
It’s like Greatsword in monster hunter ur not supposed to be healing a lot u need to know all their moves. The skill ceiling is when u could deal massive melee damage while I-framing everything and not needing to heal.
Honestly gank fights have been fun when they become 2v2. When its been the traditional 2v1 then its just a chore to get through since your windows for attacking are much much slower. Now with you and mimic fighting they can be a fun game of whose side will be overwhelmed first.
