The back definitely looks better than it did. And for trying to come back from as dark as it was along with the coppers it definitely blends better and looks better than it did when you bleached it the last round. And you can totally pull this off for a few weeks till you are ready to bleach the back.
I think it looks better. I know it wasn't what you wanted, but I don't think its too bad, at least on camera. But you will figure it out, you always do!! Can't wait to see what you do next!
Considering the banding you started with and the fact that you did it all yourself, it looks great! Doing the back of your own head is SO dang hard, give yourself some credit! Yer a wizard, Aislinn!
Honestly it's a big improvement. You're getting there, just stay the course and don't do anything impulsive! In a couple weeks you can go in with bleach and maybe 10 volume...low and slow and your hair will be fine. Also if you coat your hair in argan oil before bleaching it prevents a lot of the potential damage.
One of the things I love about watching you is that you show every part of your hair journey, success and failure alike! Not that this is a failure but it didn't turn out exactly how you wanted! You are amazing either way and thank you for showing us reality with no sugar coating 😅
I think it is an enormous improvement! It was literally orange in patches and now it is a very light cool beige. It blends so much better with the platinum then the orange did. The tonal differences are much closer to where you would like to be. low and slow is going to be the way to go. Do another round with the mixture you used on the ends in about 6 weeks and I know it will be even better. This is a total win in my eyes!
The timing of the sirens after you were like.. "uhh I can really only handle 1 hair disaster a year... and we're at 2....and its February!" I love your sense of humor & humility
Good way to get rid of unwanted green shades is to tone it again with some pale pink/dusty pink semi color and dilute it so it is not too much pigment to turn the whole hair more visible pink than blonde but just enough that it counters the green shades. I tried this years ago when my hair looked the same after toning and it worked very well.
I agree with the others that this looks way better than the splotches of dark orange/brown all over the back. It at least blends together much more tonally. I think keeping to solid colors and letting this grow out a bit would be best. That way, you can evenly bleach the new growth as it comes in. I know you're more active in changing your hair, so it's challenging, but I typically go 6 months without a root touch up and I dye my hair between appointments. My hair is the healthiest possible while still having fun and incorporating styles that blend well with my darker root color. My hair is also pretty long, full and curly. But again, I am not changing my hair as much as you so you'll know what's best in the end.
Tbh the different tones of blonde look so good on you with your skin tone and the way you do your make-up and wear dark clothes but girl you could pull off any colour
Oh, it's not that terrible 😘 I have every confidence in your ability to turn it around! Also, thanks for always giving me something to watch while I wait for the inevitably late Ethan 😆 ✌❤🌈
honestly when you go back from the start to the end the back looks so much better it's so orange at the start and it almost blends it in alittle, give it a few weeks and re-bleach low and slow! you got this 💜
The front looks really good but I agree with you, the back is worse. It looks like a drity green. I messed with ash toner, too, once and the color turned out similar and I did not know what to do. I did a color correction with a much pastellised semi permanent red, that worked well, but my hair was not patchy, just too green. I would maybe just dye the back vibrant red and maybe even leave the front white, that could be a nice contrast. you could make the roods darker a red and the ends a lighter one to get it more even. Or just REALLY go with it and do a gradient with orange roots and red ends at the back. A bit like the fire and ice split dye you once had, I really loved that. Just so that the front is the ice and the back fire. And when it washes out it is hopefully more neutral because the red cancelled out the green and then you can dye something else or see if it is okay to bleach again.
"I can only handle one major hair disaster a year" - Yeah, that's a mood. Honestly the back is not as bad as I expected from the title. It looks better for sure!! Perfect? No, but considering where you started with the copper this is like an A+ 100!!!! The haircut is still looking excellent too
I think it looks better! Also when you turned around with your glasses on I was living for the look. the thin brows and lips made you look like Bayonetta. 😍
i feel like a half up, half down look would really help hide those golden tones, since it'll show off your white roots. i really do think that this is way better than what you had before, and i cant even make out those blue tones youre seeing. you did great
The glasses are super cute! I’m so impressed you can wear them comfortably with those falsies. Even the tamest of falsies make me want to cry when I wear them sans glasses haha
I think it looks better for sure, hopefully it holds you over till you decide to bleach it again. That 050 of wella is more blue toned than violet in my opinion and experience 🥴 and yassss sessy alt librarian w the glasses!! Glasses gorlies represent!!
Any time I try to use Wella toners on my blonde it gets JACKED UP. But considering what you were fixing, this turned out way better than anyone could have expected, honestly. And, at least the toner didn't make you more brassy.
I did this exact mistake before, but I fixed it with a level 7 ash for mids and ends and did a smudge root with a level 5 ash. Completely covered the mistakes. I think the toner would help to prolong from brasiness but just depends on what look you're going for next. The toner does make it look more even though. 💯
Just remember you went from "mac and cheese" in the back to THIS! I think it looks great as you know it's a transition colour on the journey to blonde, just cuz it isn't there YET doesn't mean it's bad! The few weeks breather between bleachings will do so much for damage recovery, pack your K18 and redken on the trip!
I would literally do a sunset colour in the back, yellow at the top orange into red. Then id do a lilac into pink at the front. Would look so cool. ❤❤❤
I've defiantly used t14 and the 050 on my hair when I had a faded ion color brilliance red copper color on my head I think it was 8RC it was faded my ends were porous so they faded faster I used strawberry leopard with a 20 volume developer and left it on for 20 min and it removed most of the color I then used the toner and got a good grey silver base. I work at a Sally Beauty where I live and I'm the color consultant. Not saying I know exactly what I'm talking about because I'm not a professional as well as Sally Beauty literally just being a DIY store but the closest I can be without going to school for it I'm always testing things out on myself and I can say that, that combo can work really well!
I agree it does look better, and how about you go dark Grey mix maybe with a bit of red to cancel the green-ish brassy part and a lighter Grey at the root while you baby sit and then take from there. The ion color Grey cream has saved my live way to many times, or maybe gargoyle from unicorn hair ❤
It does look better in term of the brassiness. I've actually mixed equal parts T10 (blue) & T11 (GV) before when I've been what I call "bronze". They work together BEAUTIFULLY to get me to a light beige blonde.
It looks so much better! From a damage perspective, if you're putting 20vol on your hair...just do a bleach bath on the orange bits to get it even then one toner all over with 10 vol or lower
It’s definitely less “cheese-y” and generally closer in colour all over, but it looks like there was maybe too much blue in the mixture so it’s left some greenish-blue hues. I’ve not used toners before though, only know about it through colour theory 😅
I think it definitely looks better after, especially considering that you've done it yourself and where you started. But yeah, the back is a struggle bus. All you need is a bit of a shadow root on the back, and it should cover most of the problematic bits. I'm sure whatever you're gonna do next is gonna come out awesome 😁
The back definitely looks a lot better than the previous color you had. There are still some brassy tones but they’re barely noticeable. Nothing more than a little bleach with 10 or 20 volume can’t fix.
Your hair isn't a disaster...you just need a few rounds of clarifying shampoo to fade the toner. Considering what you started with, it actually is a lot better. Enjoy your trip and don't worry...you look adorable as always!!
So much better. Back in the 60's and 70's we did A LOT of blond on blonde coloring, why not do that!?!? Anyway have your hubby apply lightner to the banded areas, then you will have a blank canvas too play with! Luv ya and have fun while away. 😃
Hey beautiful Aislinn! I think it looks better than it did before! Less orange in it for sure! I’m sorry you’re not happy with it 😕 I am lookin forward to seeing what you do with it! 🤩 Hope you’re doin well! 🥰🌈❤️
