THIS ENDED BADLY | Motorcycle Crash | Chikmagalur 

This is the summary of what exactly happened: We were riding up along the curves of Kottigehara. On one such bend, there was a car coming towards us with the right side of the car slightly in OUR lane. As both of them were driving and riding at slightly higher speeds in rainy conditions, it was difficult to brake quickly, hence the crash. It is only fair to say that both parties were at fault. At this point, all of us were just relieved that Manoj was unscathed and was able to walk out of the accident even after falling head-first into the windshield of the car on impact. Following this, we mutually agreed to claim our respective vehicle insurance. We are grateful to the very kind and helpful localites who ensured our safety and helped us tow Manoj’s bike into town. Such incidents pose a reality check. We are happy to have escaped unharmed this time. Safety is of the utmost priority.

Very sad to see the ride end this way but on the flip side Manoj was safe, broken parts on motorcycle can be replaced. Have to say, usually in a crash like this, there would be heated arguments, was geneuinely surprised to see both parties handle it smoothly. Ride safe bro, wishing Manoj a speedy recovery.

I just started to watch your videos a few weeks ago. Familiar routes, familiar places. It has been amazing content. I'm sorry to see this happen to your riding buddy. Lets hope all is well. A bent fork can be straightened, a damaged wheel can be replaced, a shotty handlebar can be a good chance to finally upgrade to better ones. But most importantly, he was okay and not seriously injured. Accidents are called such for a reason. They happen when a lot of things that could go wrong, go wrong, at the same time. A series of fateful events that cant be blamed on one person or one mistake. Dont let this stop you riding!

as soon as anyone falls, or is hit, EVERYONE says no it doesnt hurt, but guys, its the adrenline rush that doesnt make u feel the pain, so due to that confidence we walk around meanwhile inside you are hurting yourself further and damaging yourself. rule of thumb any day, just sit down and have some water.

This is just material please be safe and calmly drive and if anyone gets this type of situation please solve it calmly and help each other. This is the true rider behaviour and professional ethics.

This is an unfortunate situation to be in... Must've been difficult for Manoj and you as well. It's best to take some time off, and gear back up for the next ride to make some fresh memories ☺️

This literally happened to me 2 days ago a cab tried to run over me cause I saw him using phone while driving and told to pull over. Eventually I stopped the cab at a point and the people at place blamed me like the mistake is on my side and the driver simply said I was racing with him on bike. I called the cops and cab driver and me agreed to file a complaint against each other. While on the police station the cab driver ran away and never showed up and the phone number which he gave to cops was invalid. He was such a coward and the people at that place were supporting him. So it always better to listen to both side of the stories and it's completely wrong to blame a guy just because he is on motorcycle and simply comes up with a statement "he was racing"

Its good that other person mutually understand for claiming process - gratefully you guys handled the situation calmly. most of time people directly blame us for incident even it is not our fault as we looks very younger by looks. Were you on the belur kottigehara stretch? I was on this stretch just last weekend on a ride with Karunadu bikers club and Himalayan riders, MUST NOT CORNER OR SPEED, period after Belur until you pass charmadi. It’s not meant for that. Watch Duke Giris video for the accident involving again a Himalayan. I own a fellow Rock Red and it’s my prized possession.

In India ppl dont know how to drive on their lane. Specially when they take turn. They will just take turn assuming no body is coming from opposite. Most ppl dont honk also in the turns.

Many car drivers make this mistake of taking the shortest route at bends of ghats. Even on flat roads. Then they blame the other for being a bad rider. Stay in your lane and take a big turn, how hard is it. Good that you guys are safe.

Charmadi - Kottigehara stretch is very narrow and curvy. Riders must be extremely cautious while riding and must avoid during rainy season at all costs.

One of them said about fate. That's somewhat true. I have been in situation where I crossed from a section of road safe and sound but my friend just riding 50m behind me met with an accident on the same section of the road that I crossed.

Even If you are a biker waiting road side and someone crashes into you.. it still is a bikers fault. Coz Biker with gears = Racer 🫡🙏🏻

Car, TT, Bus doesn't matter. As bike riders we should be extremely careful. and all time we should assume that other vehicles might crash into us any time. India roads are not that wide and big vehicles drivers doesn't drive with respect of their blind spots. I have crashed into Autos and Everyday Joes many times. Because all of them think bikes can be maneuvered at any condition. But we know, slight change in speed, we go skidding under lorry. To add petrol to this kind of accidents, we have chapris who drive like snakes, so any bike accident wil be blamed on biker saying you were driving like snake. :( sad state of bikers.
