I agree that Stark can be annoying at times, but I also think he's way better done than most other characters in anime with similar traits. He's like Zenitsu, if Zenitsu was an actually likeable character.
Its sad to understand that no matter how many statues of himmel and the party are scatter all over the world, they will be forgotten by the future generations like kraft, that even frieren seems to dont know who he was when they meet and she is freaaking old. Dont know why that small and obvious realization got me every time i rewatch that scene.
I actually did recoil physically for a quick second when they made it clear Old man Vol had dementia/memory loss. It runs in our family and it has been my biggest fear in my life since middle school… memory loss/not knowing yourself/not recognizing loved ones/etc… Their final years I debated on even seeing them again as I didn’t want them to not recognize me or think me some scary stranger. Even seeing them in a different state can be traumatic m. Shit sucks y'all and I wouldn't wish it on anyone
Ah perfection. I rate this anime perfect but it has things that I would do differently, but again, it is not my story. And I get (mostly) why the author tells it in a particular way. That I can sense this is also a sign of quality btw. So in the end I judge mostly execution. 10/10 Maybe later I will write what I would do given talent and money 😂 In this great episode I did particularly like the sublime dread on Frierens face as she realized that Voll was not joking. And we see a great fear, imo, of her - loosening ones memory. Addendum Old people dreaming of long gone friends/loved ones means they will soon see them again, in folklore.
I like the real human flaws that Stark and Fern have. I don't mind the wimpy-ness as much as it's a flaw that time will erase if Stark becomes famous, as with Fern's flaws likewise. My issues with the show are some of the pacing in the beginning feels a bit off but really hits its stride around 6, and I'm not 100% clear on the power scaling at the moment. Also, maybe an explanation of non mages and if they have mana/power scale.
