Mini review of the Frigidaire countertop ice maker - amzn.to/43TFq9R - that can produce 26 pounds of ice every 24 hours.
I picked this up at my local Costco for $89.99 plus tax.
Fits my family's needs very nicely. Our refrigerators ice-maker broke over 10 years ago and since then we have purchased a new older home that doesn't have a water line installed for a refrigerated ice maker, so this was the most economical way to spend our money for ice.
I highly recommend this countertop ice maker! Perfect for a family with with situation like ours. Probably be great for RVing with electrical hookups. Dorm room or apartment living with no refrigerator ice-maker.
If you don't live near a Costco, I have Amazon affiliate links down below so you can check out the pricing from any number of sellers.

@@DavidDs-Random-Videos sorry I missed your comment. I know it's been over a year but maybe this info will still help. Yes, mine does make various noises when going through its different cycles. It makes a pshhhh sound, like air being released from a valve when the freezing is over and then kind of a buzzing, or gear movement sound as it dumps the ice. So I guess it's "normal". Other than that it's pretty quiet.

When the icemaker went out on our refrigerator, the cost of the replacement would have been almost $400.00. Never used ice that much, so I purchased this ice maker from Amazon, and very pleased with it. When the refrigerator ice maker went kaput, I removed it and wow, it gave me a lot more freezer space (but kept the bucket the ice fell in and use it for storage of ice from the new machine). The refrigerator would take almost an hour and a half to produce seven slivers of ice, this machine does circles around it making a full basket of ice in the same amount of time. Glad I purchased it.

Congratulations on 385K views! I watched this video before I bought the Frigidaire countertop ice maker at Costco a couple months ago. I bought a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator this year and it DOES NOT produce enough ice. The countertop ice maker makes the same amount of ice in three hours as the refrigerator ice maker does in two days. The refrigerator has the ice dispenser in the door, so I just dump the ice from the countertop model into the refrigerator ice bin and dispense it through the door as needed. Thanks for making this review.

Due to 8 people in the household that love ice constantly, our built in ice maker in the fridge was always empty. I have the SS version of this one and it is a godsend. When the ice maker in the fridge is running low, we just dump the basket from the portable one into the fridge basket and we always have enough. Between the two, we always have plenty of ice. The bullet cubes are easier to chew on as well.

My friend has one , in fact it was in use at a party this weekend, it makes ice about every 7 minutes, pretty fast, and the ice compartment isn’t chilled, so if you don’t dump the ice out into a bucket, it will just melt back into the reservoir and be used again , can’t go wrong with it

I have the same unit. It works good for drinks, but for cooler ice, not so well. It's ice none the less, but because the cubes are hollow, they don't last as long as solid cubes for coolers. If you are planning a day out on the beach on a hot day, don't expect the hollow cubes to last like regular solid cubes if you own a Yetti cooler, maybe no big deal.

Had this model for 2 years. We fill it with water from a filtration pitcher. Chilled water works best (and faster, too,) so we remove the basket and let the first 2 or 3 iterations fall back into the water reservoir, then we replace the basket once the source water is well chilled. We move the ice to a container in the freezer so it is available all the time, and crank up the countertop icemaker when the freezer container is down to about 1/3 full.

These are very convenient because the ice pieces from these things make are just BARELY ice. I can't measure the temperature of one but using the device it has, it can only freeze at around 25 degrees, I would guess because of the way the dissolves in room temp water. I mean, in 5 minutes, it is gone. Normal ice from your 0-10 degree refrigerator lasts much longer. The idea from the video of putting your countertop made ice in baggies and re-freezing it is a really good idea because that brings it down to a more useable temp. Each cycle of 8 cubes only takes 8 minutes or so and the basket fills up fast. I have one at my liquor bar, that I fill with bottled water, because the taste of city water with all the chlorine really can screw up the taste of a good drink. But so can fast melting ice.

got the same model, just made with the UK brand 'cookworks' while i find it handy, its not 120GBP handy (bout 135 dollars) but handily i didn't pay that, it cost me 8.99 (11.50usd) from our version of goodwill, for 10 bucks, its worth the money. though will say its a little bit on the noisy side whirring, humming and clunking. so if you're using it for a quiet party (chatting over drinks) leave the machine in the kitchen or pantry. and on the large vs small ice cubes, personally there's not much difference (unless you throw them in the freezer after, then the water on the larger cubes freezes them to be about 20% bigger vs small) though if you're the type of person who likes to crunch your ice, the smaller ones are easier to crunch for those interested, you can use other liquids rather than water, so long as your machine has a autoclean function to flush the pump and pump lines through, though wouldnt reccomend it. but its your appliance, im not the boss of you, if you wanna make some franks red hot ice cubes to cram inside a hot pocket so you dont burn your mouth, go nuts.

I bought this Frigidaire Ice Maker from Costco, tried it for a couple of days, but returned it because I just couldn't stand the cloudy ice it made, even from great tasting, bottled, Canadian spring water. I also hated that it was only spitting out 9 cubes at a time. I even took the time to try the two different "sizes" of bullets, but upon weighing 9 large bullets vs 9 small bullets, the 9 small bullets weighed only 8 grams less than the large ones. In other words, less than 1 gram difference between large v small. I decided this wasn't really what I was looking for, so I returned it to Costco and ordered Frigidaire model EFIC452-SS which makes 40lbs of clear, square ice cubes per day, (and 24 cubes with each cycle.). Frigidaire also has an even larger model that produces 48lbs of clear, square ice cubes per day. My wife & I love having crystal clear ice in our drinks and have even found that the clear solid cubes make much smoother milk shakes, smoothies, and slushees. Also, these models are internally cooled by compressor, and so will retain the ice internally for a much longer period than the 26lb model.

Just a tip: use distilled water. The ice will be crystal clear and the machine won't get calcium build up. Distilled water is all I use in my coffee maker.
