@@Karan_Thakkar I feel you on that but to be fair this video may be a revaluation to someone new to the show or is early in their sitcom experience. Just because something isn’t new doesn’t mean it’s not new to someone if you know what I mean. People make super similar video videos in interesting ways because there is a chance that they could be the first time a viewer experiences that conversation about himym or any show for that matter.

When I read the title, the playbook was the one I remembered immediately. But I'm actually fine with it being the Pineapple incident. I love this episode.

I believe it’s a top two or three episode, because even though I know the twist is coming it’s still just as good as the first time I saw it.

I also really like the fight. I really forget about that episode too shockingly

I consider the introduction of the Playbook the start of the downfall of HIMYM.

I think I would have liked the format more if maybe the events had more weight rather than it just being a dinner party

It’s a clever episode, but I don’t really like it. It’s one of those you can easily skip. Ted really didn’t need to tell that one to his kids haha

Now THAT is an overlooked episode! I get it’s not for everyone but the storytelling is still impressive to me every time

@@olavjorvik94 one of the main fun things about the show is that 90% of what he tells the kids he had no motive to tell them, and probably should not tell them at all

tbh, the laugh track is unoticeable. It isn't nearly as bas as friends and I don't even notice it.

@@tasmayshah5539 me neither but it’s obviously formatted like one of those type of shows, the laugh track is so silent you barely notice it but the format in which it was shot like there’s an audience in front of them like Friends TBBT and Two and a Half Men hurts it, I wish it would have been shot more akin to modern sitcoms like B99 or Modern Family

At least they had a goal in mind. Not many shows do. Would have probably with at least a season with the actual mother and gang ,though outside of the wedding season.

@@tasmayshah5539 because in friends they are filming infront of a live audience. In HIMYM theres no audience, so they can edit as much as they want, also newer technology and better editing tools in 2006 than 1994 tbh.

it threw me for such a loop when it revealed marshall and lily werent actually sitting next to each other

The first night, Robin couldn't make it because she was covering a story about a kid got stuck in one of those toy vending machines where a robot arm grabs a random toy and slips it out. The kid wanted a purple giraffe, but kept getting other toys, so he somehow found his way inside the machine, but couldn't come out. Robin was stuck there until they could the kid out, which led to her missing the first party. It was sort of a parallel between Ted and the kid, Robin being Ted's Purple Giraffe, as he wouldn't let go of her despite failing to get her again and again.

@@hellica8802 that scene was improvised. Jason had the scene direction that he would have to hug Lily but he didn't know what he would be responding to. Jason's reaction as Marshal is pretty much real in that scene and they kept he original take that's why they use the original audio and not the dubbing (you can hear that the audio is not perfect in that moment if you hear clearly)

While I totally agree with you, I have always been confused about the number of slaps Barney gets. I can't help but wonder if there was something personal from Lily in that decision. Or something the writers consciously choose to draw out the comedy. I think it would have been really cool if we had found out later. Lily abused her powers as the slap bet commissioner to get back at Barney for a personal vendetta. Which would have been totally in line with her personality and some of the things she does throughout the series. My reason for this is Marshall prematurely slapped Barney, and he also tried to hide the fact that his slap was premature from him, and his punishment was three consecutive slaps. One for lying and two for a premature slap. So one can't help but wonder why Barney was giving the choice of ten slaps all at once or five at random? Should it not have been two slaps for the one premature slap committed by Barney? Based on the precedent set by Lily in her ruling of Marshall's premature slap. I don't know. This is just something I have always wondered.

It made me cry like a little girl, and I loved every second of it(:

The time travelers, hands down the best HIMYM episode of all time.

thats a top 5 episode for sure, maybe the best. it's not the absolute saddest sitcom episode ever (see all of MASH), but in comparison to a given show's average episode it might be the saddest

Yes. That's the episode that made me a HIMYM fan. I dun think Victoria was ruined and it was great that she was brought back.

Wasn't that the one, which was supposed to be the final Episode before it got more episode and seasons? Victoria has always been my favorite, the actual mother being a close second.

@@puaykimteo2997 I still love victoria at the time of the ducky tie episode where ted bumps into her at an event. Then after that they had to make up weird quirks for victoria for ted to break up with her again. This is after victoria left klaus at the altar for ted. In the later seasons, Later seasons were just bad with a few good episodes sprinkled here and there. I wish they introduced the mother character earlier since she was the best part of the last season.

I think he brought on a second collaborator to take on some work for him, so he can be more consistent with uploading on RU-vid. Still sucks thought because it misses the mark on why I love Nerdstalgic videos. The pacing and narrating done by the original creator is some of the best Production RU-vid has to offer and his videography takes are some of the most educated on this platform. No offense to the new but the original nerdstalgic creator is irreplaceable.
