Can you do an add on video with the breaker panel hookups and breaker sizes? That would be most helpful Just trying to wrap my head around what I would need to feed back to my main panel with an interlock instead of using a transfer panel. And then eventually adding in a generator and chargeverter. Thanks for all the great info

$8600 if you plan to sign an interconnect contract with your power company to export power back to the grid. $5900 if you do not plan to export back to the grid.

Sam, I am not an electrician, but I am installing my own solar system in Tennessee. My understanding of the NEC 690.31 all DC circuits over 30 volts or 8 amps "... be contained IN metal raceways, or Type MC metal-clad cable that complies with 250.118(10), or in metal enclosures." I don't think your use of Liquatite Flexible Electrical Conduit complies with this requirement. Your thoughts?

NEC 690.31 is for a subset of DC circuits, specifically PV circuits. The language is ..."PV system dc circuits that exceed 30 volts"... For the PV wires, they should be in metal conduit within the house. I think you may want to look into NEC 706 for ESS systems as I believe the other (non-PV) circuits like between the battery and inverter can be in rigid PVC.

Since the other inverter is basically made by the same company maybe switch it up and run them in parralell. Then you can share battery and can add a few more arrays to offset ahop usage

What was the 'mechanical object' you used to lift the inverter? I've seen one video where a guy screwed in some heavy duty hooks into the wall above the inverter and looped a ratchet strap to lift the unit - worked well.

Question. If you were to add on to your house adding more outlets, lights and so on would you have to upgrade the systems production and setup to accommodate the remodel?

Not unless we really added a lot of electrical demands. This inverter will output 12,000 watts continuous... that's 100 amps and plenty for our needs.

as you expand battery and inverter capacity will you need to add more solar? or do you have enough?

Through the summer longer days we have excess of solar, but we'll see how the winter goes. If anything I'll be looking to expand the EG4 battery like we did with our ETHOS on the house. That way we can ride through the cloudy weather longer.

i love to have a good solar system , i have my 6 =100 watt solar panels and my mppt and inverter so i can have some solar back up but those battery's are expensive i want the lithium ones one day i will be able to get those what kind of breaker box i need for them

Sam are u say that eg4 14kwh battery has more juice than those 6 ethos batteries... I have eg4 batteries and the 6000xp and outback inverters. I dont see that one battery keeping up ur house tottally off grid........ Nice set up

Because we're working with Signature Solar on this EG4 system whereas we worked with BigBattery on the other. We will be comparing the two systems in future content to help others know the differences between the two and their pros/cons.

Sam! Dude you know good and well that you live in Tennessee now and bud I hate to tell you this but you going to have to redo this video. You need to turn your hat to the side, then get you a wad of chewing baca, the black out a couple of teeth and break all that technical stuff down. Translating to Tennessee-nse!😂😂😂. Color code some wires. Throw some accent in there too!! lol
