I'm so glad someone stepped away from ebisu and went and drifted all the other legendary tracks in Japan, this little series was so refreshing compared to all the ebisu drift matsuri videos👍🏼
Jimmy has made it very clear he goes to Japan mainly for the driving, but damn do I wish one of the trips was purely everything else…. He may find new traditions he wants to do every trip in the future, just gotta go explore more to find out.
Only one I've seen that really get into details on how to do shit love it other's just show it getting done jimmy and crew want you to be able to so it
Thank you for showing the learning curve. Not really your friends. But plenty of RU-vidrs wouldn’t show that. Just try to make themselves look awesome from the start. Great to see you actually learn the car and the track.
@@Jake_Hamlin not so much man he fuxks up more shit and half asses so much stuff remember when he went thought the grey 240 got almost all the way through it and half asses the final 30% he shouldn't be near any cara with any kind of tools
@@Jake_Hamlindidn’t realize he has his own channel Ricer Miata; he’s definitely got personality- I’d cast him in the F&F drift movie starring solely RU-vidrs.
Remember kids it’s not the power that breaks transmissions it’s the torque, but with drifting the life of your trans is equal to how grippy your tires are!
And your clutch, I run a standard SR20 gearbox and have never blown one and my Silvia makes more power than his one in Japan, you want your tyres, clutch or diff to break before your gearbox, all way cheaper and easy to replace, Ive just got a standard clutch and cheaper tyres and my box has lasted many sessions of drifting. The car used to break gearboxes before I owned it and after changing the setup when I got it I've never done one so far in 2 years.. yet
Jimmy your the most humble dude ever an absolute Legend 👍 and the Japan content has been straight 🔥 Austin the vids incredible 👌 and the S14 shes looking and sounding sick and you were shredding out there 👌 also the rest of the cars and the style just epic nothing better 👍 and the ending hilarious 😂 keep up the great work 👍
The Snot Rocket looked crazy good on track. I’m glad you got to experience the high caliber drift machines and drivers while you were there. Definitely looked amazing!
Jimmy, I just wonna say that you’re such a dope human being. Too humble, I aspire to be as humble as you are. Letting Dylan borrow your chaser to enjoy Japan to the fullest. It’s what life is all about
Have any of y’all ever experimented with a 5th generation 3S-GE BEAMS Blacktop with a turbo on it? I’ve been beating the piss out of 3S-GTE with e153 transmissions my whole life and I’ve only ever broken my first N/A engine and my first turbo engine. The rest of them have hundreds of thousands of miles on them with 20PSI daily/25PSI Weekend type setups on them. I know SRs are great engines but even the Castrol Supra had a version of the 3S platform for weight distribution. Yamaha head, forged bottom end, 86mm x 86mm. Great aftermarket support. For all intents and purposes, it’s a 4cyl 2J. And, that 5th gen engine is a FR setup. IDK, just a suggestion.
Hi jimmy. Just came from the drift games video. Been a subscriber for years and you’ve hung out with a few friends of mine at events from media teams to drivers enough to know you’re a genuinely great guy. What are the chances you could come out with a shirt design for Ireland crew where all profits past costs could go to them?
Nothing better than an S chassis with a 200-300 hp SR to bad the trans. wasn't up to the task! Especially in Japan with some of the most iconic drivers! Soooo good!
In the states I feel like a lot of time my government is trying to legislate motorsports and just the car community in general out of existence. I hope it will never reach the extent where it seriously affects my ability to participate (past what has already been done), but knowing around the world I hopefully have a safe haven is nice. The extreme talent, but simplicity on display at 15:25 with perfectly chosen music, is enough to make a grown man cry.
Jimmy it's super cool to see how pumped the locals are to have you guys in town for the week, Drifting there local track. No way dudes are hiding this week.
Such a cool event, I wasn't able to make it out but a few of my friends did (Darnell with the rear ended Verossa). It looks like it was amazing. I definitely can't wait to be back in Japan and will for sure come back to drive at Bihoku!
Can't wait to watch this video, Jimmy's trips(2nd or 3rd) are just so amazing and to tell you the truth him and Adam have inspired since the BMX days and for them to be doing such legendary stuff is just down right Amazing✨This Josh all the way from 🇿🇦 continue to inspire the next generation (Me)✌🏾😁
I think I remember hearing the new Z's trans is similar to the G37/ 370Z trans but with better synchros. That's good to hear cause my G's trans was grinding when I first test drove it. Luckily was replaced under warranty
So refreshing to see this kind of videos, than the frankly oversaturated ebisu drift matsuri etc etc every single time. This perspective is like a breath of fresh air.
Singing the outro music got me, its the only channel I sit and listen tot he outro music for, Austin missed out on using that clip as the outro there I would have died, we need all the boys singing the outro for a video
That green reminds me of my te27 corolla levin. I think it is the same shade of green that we had on it. Then I sold it and the guy who bought it did the upgrades that I've always wanted to do to it, he did a right hand drive swap trueno sprinter front swap and he painted it orange and installed all the parts that like wheels that came with the car when I sold it. But he didn't use it as a drift car or race car, it just got turned into a show queen.
It's kinda old school to me as I'm 36 now 😅 but my buddy's dad who owns a very large salvage auto yard always would grab fish tank bubble controls as a quick boost controller good to 17 psi 😊
Iv ran a stock trans for about 4 years with an ORC super single at 430 horsepower on my SR and have never had a single issue. 😅 i can say SR transmissions do not like twin plates so you might want to stay away from that. Or just drop a CD009 in it and you should be golden
Damn, all down to tire choice and Jimmy knew this would happen. But i thought for sure with the 2nd gearbox u would loosen it up, max psi or change the Valinos lol. But still an amazing event, S-chassis heaven.
Loved the video , keep it coming. Just got one question,. I'm genuinely curious, if the SR20 5MT is known to be a glass cannon in the community. Why don't people who run them not try to air up like the Japanese folks I've seen?
So basically Ebisu is the land of the JZX and this track is the land of the S-Chassis, man Japan must be an awesome place to visit if you're a car guy🔥🔥
It’s crazy to think that nearly all these S chassis Nissans are at least 25 years old ! I wonder, out of all the surviving S chassis what the ratio is for drift to road cars ?
Yall are living life the right way. Ill make it to Japan one day. Everyone's cars look fucking amazing and killing it with the period correct Japanese drift car specs. S15 is my dream car for sure and ive been trying to decide which one I like more Jimmy's or Tom's I like the green but I also like the dark nardo grey on Tom's it looks mean and stealthy
I find it so interesting how in America most people roll up with a truck and trailer but in Japan everyone has or has use of a full on transport truck just to haul one or two cars. Wild
So sorry about the transmission problems 🥲 We will get that 400Z one in there and hit a few other tracks next time!! So fun having all you guys at the shop. It’s so quiet now 😔
I Had to rewind in the beginning never seen hydraulic jacks on front of truck to get car off (no tilt bed no problem)😅 Great driving James (Tranny) Oaks 😉😅👍 ☮️
Ran 235 valino greevas on my s14 for an entire season except the last event. Put on 235 pergea c’s for the final event of the year and grenaded the 5 speed.
What is the front end setup in the car? And which car back at home is going to be setup the same? Forgive my ignorance if it was mentioned but how hyped you are about how it drives has got me very interested. Would also love to hear your alignment specs, even if it is just a rough estimate
