This is a reupload. I took it down when the channel got deleted but I am confident that won't happen again, so it is back up. But the two I refer to at the end are not back up just yet! A laughable fake CasiOak here today. We know who ate all the pies now. Do us all a favour and just buy a real one. I won a fake/bootleg casio F-91W as a 10 year old kid back in 2001. No reason to get into details. Believe it or not, it felt apart right after putting it on my wrist as the strap broke off. It also REEKED of heavy, gagging rubber/plastic/chemical smell. The backlight worked... Only once. And the strap-less watch died while trying to set the time on the same day, so I threw it away. What a prize... As much as I love Casio watches (have 11 of them now), I feel reluctant towards F-91W itself. Closest to F-91W I have is a F-94W and W-86.

It's a damn shame the fake turned you off the F-91W, it really is a classic piece that needs to included in any Casio collection. I just find it odd that someone went through the trouble of copying something as cheap as the F-91W.

On a thought here but as a huge casio fan these fakes and SKHMIE ( you know however you spell them) it does leave me pondering on how much casios actually cost to make? I have a much worn and tatty MRW200 which cost £16.00 but how much did it actually cost to produce? My guess is about£3.00?

I found a Skmei chronograph that I liked so much I bought the company. Sorry, that just slipped out...there used to be this Philishave ad on TV where the guy says, well nevermind what he says. I bought two more of the same is what I did, except they have white hands & indices instead of yellow. Then I bought three very good leather straps in three different colours, and the rest is history (in the sense that they still work and I do occasionally wear them to get my money's worth).

I got my fake from eBay yesterday. Paid $70. For an $8. Chinese watch. I didn't stop to smell the fish! The moment it was delivered the order details were taken down. The funniest part of my watch is the bezel is one solid piece of hard plastic. The SECOND I opened the package I said OH NO! I immediately ordered a gray one on Amazon on sale for $10. More than the fake. Lesson learned!

I don't understand people knowingly, purposely buying fake, whatever. I admit I have bought 2 homage watches in the past, before buying the real thing. Spent a little to see if I liked the look, fit, feel, etc, before spending 4-5 figures on the real thing. But if you buy a fake, knowing its fake, and try to pass it off as real, what does that say about you?

There are newer fakes with the proper 2 lines on the LCD and the quick release straps. Be careful when buying these. Scrutinize every pictures online and just go with a reputable seller.

Honestly, I think Jody's been faked out by the fake. This is an apples to oranges comparison. The fake is not a copy of Jody's plastic Casioak with the white markers, but the newer metal versions that come in all the funky colors. While this one's obviously flawed with the wrong colorway, there are actual color fakes out there that will make the Chinese a boatload of cash, as the price point for the genuine metal Casioaks is totally absurd.
