The horrors committed by the IDF are a direct response to the horrors committed by Hamas. I have heard Gazan men, women, and children reciting hatred that was taught to them when they were growing up. The IDF do not trust Gazans because they harbor Hamas and keep hostage captive. Over 14 million people live in Palestine/Israel, 7 million call themselves Palestinians, 7 million call themselves Jews. Yet, they are genetically 99.999% identical because they originate from the same place. Brother killing brother. Hatred begets hatred. Blood begets blood. Both sides want to live in the same place. Israel has the upper hand militarily and has a despicable ultra-right-wing government. Hamas' stated cause is the genocide of Israelis. Neither party wants peace. The Palestinian men are out of this world they are so compassionate and loving and caring. I used to think how do the kids and women of Palestine are so brave and always thankful even after living under such awful condition. I told my therapist today how I try to watch some footage of Gazans every day. I feel so powerless and am ashamed of all the 'civilized' world governments not demanding a ceasefire; the least i can do is bear witness to these people bravely sharing these harrowing experiences with the world. It's so tough to comment on this horrific situation. My heart aches for my Palestinian brothers and sisters. This is not a war, we have not seen any Palestinian with guns or body armor. These people are our distant cousins. We briefly feel their pain but do not have to live it. We feel helpless and we are lucky. Tell yourself how lucky you are if you are reading this and how blessed and thank God for everything that you have
This is one of the most extraordinary examples of how parents put aside their worst most present fears to protect their children. Imagine the level of emotional sacrifice you would have to make to ensure you’re child felt safe while living actual hell? Where are the “parenting blogs” and mommy influencers? How can those who remain silent, how do they look away? And the vilification of Palestinian men we’ve seen when men like this are all over the place, being this resilient and emotionally attuned to the needs of their kids.
