Hello everyone! Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend 😍I hope you all enjoy this video, it honestly is one of my favourites. If you enjoy it and want to help me out, please share it around social media, let's make it viral 😁 It was obviously filmed last year, I am extremely behind on my uploads as filming so many videos and editing them at the same time is very hard to do and I really just end up doing one or the other 😅However! I am actually currently in Kathmandu as we speak, editing like a mad man to get these videos out for you guys. If you see me around the Thamel area, please feel free to come say hello! 🥰 Look forward to reading your wonderful comments as always and cant wait for you to see the rest of the videos from my time in Nepal! Much Love ❤
@@angrymaniac53 Newars have festivals everyday, if you count the small festivals and the local festivals that are only celebrated in one small place. Some festivals are celebrated only in an alley.
Look at the Diversity, look at hospitality, look at respect, look at culture, look at kindness, Nepal is undoubtedly the best country in the world ❤❤❤❤❤
Gai jatra is true example of Nepali Resilience. It has a deep meaning. To be concise, it teaches us that we cannot deny the death but we can always find reasons to move on with life. Death is not unique experience.
16:11 the one with big read mask called "Lakhe" and other is called "Jhingha" the weight of the main character mask is around 5/6 kg. Role of jgingha is to tease Lakhe and make him angry while saving himself from being captured by lakhe. Lakhe dance is a beautiful story portrayed via dance very old and very famous from "Newari" culture.
this festival is particulary celebrated in kathmandu valley from newar community and it is celebrated differently in Bhaktapur with with different vibes
Wow i like how they use classic instruments for there music, it reminds me of a kulintang, the masks are so cool, almost like a halloween thing .. very cool, its like a fiesta everyone is full of energy, cool dance.. im sure there is a story behind it..its almost like there fighting or like an arnis dance w the sticks heheh

I was watching video thinking 2024 gaijatra. Date of posting video made me confused how jatra was on month May, 3 month earlier . Later it turn outs last year gaijatra as mention in comment. Josh you made my mind blow out for just a min. Wow
@@TheJourneyofJosh if u do plan on visiting Bhaktapur again, i recommend around 15th April as its the nepali new year and you get to see the biggest crowd of people in Nepal in Bhaktapur, doing tug of wars on chariot and the Biska jatra
Samay Baji consists of many items on a single plate. But basically it must have beaten rice , chatamari, wa: , chhwela, small finger cut ginger, black soybeans, fried boiled egg, black eye beans, green leaves, potatoes, alcohol, pickles not one that west eat. Pickles are made from different vegetables. It's tangy & spicy. And lots of meat items chicken & buff basically. no mutton or pork. There are more than 200 newa cuisines.
Loving your videos and your attempt at speaking Nepali. If I may, can I say ‘ k chA?’ Is equivalent to what’s up? ‘Kosto hunuhuncha?’ Is ‘ how are you? Slight difference in formality.
25:18 people here believes that bhairav tahamacha(bhairav's cow) shows that even god has to die 1 day... And the tahamacha(cow of dead people) of certain area of bhaktapur are fortunate enough to follow the cow of Bhairav which helps their soul to cross a big river easily which comes as barrier on the gate of heaven. And about yomari..yes "yo"is like ,love in newari and mari is a form of bread, roti ...and it would be tastiest if its served hot and definitely not thick, hope you get better one next time❤ Keep exploring 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵❤❤❤
Much appreciate the information! ☺️ I definitely have to give Yomari another shot as it sounds amazing but the one I had was not great 😂 had no idea it should be hot?! That would be way better ❤️
@@TheJourneyofJosh yeah ,should be served hot one,and i don't know what its called in english, bt the filling should be called "chaku " for better experience. You can ask for that in shop.People are mostly fan of chaku yomari than the one you have tried.
The black hat or topi doesn't called a Dhaka Topi it's called a Bhadgaule Topi because it was originate from our Bhaktapur District I will let you know that why the Dhaka Topi was called a Dhaka Topi many many years ago we import the clothing material from Dhaka Capital city of Bsngo to make Dhaka Topi and the Nepali people start call the clothe as a Dhaka ko kapada or clothe of Dhaka because it's come Dhaka and the clothe which is used to make Dhaka Topi called as Dhaka Topi that's reason we called it Dhaka Topi at last Bhadgau is old name of Bhaktapur District🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Unfortunately we couldn’t stay the whole night and we needed to get back to KTM and it was too dark for a GoPro anyway. What we saw of the night was awesome though! Much love ❤️
