What Sakura wanted to say was that Suo could easily defeat Kanuma with just one blow, just like what Sugishita did. But Suo decided to toy with that man, he didn't even take that match seriously and continuously made his opponent look like a fool in front of everyone. He didn't knock him out, just showed the huge difference between him and his opponent. And that way, he gradually destroyed that man mentally. His opponent was constantly having "mental breakdowns", as you could see during the match. “If I were his opponent now, I would rather die,” was a perfect way to demonstrate the whole situation. So like you said, that fight was truly humiliating and embarrassing for Kanuma. Suo taught his opponent a lesson, smiled and walked off the stage as if nothing had happened. I thought they caught up with the jokes but is no one gonna tell them that Suo was just joking around saying he's Leonardo Dicaprio and that his eye seals some dragon or whatever. lol.
True that those things are not real. BUT I am excitedly suspicious that there is some truth behind those “not real details” Suo tells others. For example, Suo doesn’t literally have an evil ancient Chinese spirit sealed in his right eye. But he does have very cold side that he “seals away” within himself. And he had a meaningful change-of-life moment at the time of his eye injury that spurred him to make the decision to “seal away” the “evil spirit” he had within himself. The way the writing is done in the Windbreaker manga lends itself for Suo to have a backstory like that. That writing I’m talking about is how the story builds itself upon details previously given, not one thing wasted, and can come back later on in another moment where both the story and a character/characters advance in their development.
Istg, reactors in youtube never pay attention to the story. Nirei already said the eyes is injured because of accident, and still wondering if the eyes look different. And about the name too, its literally the same bit of joke as his eye.
They kept us waiting for a month for more fights. These two were fun warm-ups. We've got one of the Four Kings, Hiragi, in a personal grudge match, the sixteen year old MC against the Shishitoren second-in-command, and Umemiya vs Choji all coming up. It's about to get intense.
hiragi vs sato is next but that one will be insane too . just recently checked those chapters of the manga ... i was speechless, i hope they animated it well
So far I’ve been super impressed with the animation for the fights so far. So I’m definitely looking forward to what’s coming the anticipation is killer
btw where are you watching the series. the translation in so many parts is so much different than the one im watching (which is much close to the manga translations) it takes me back a lot while watching ;D
Their subtitles they’re watching may be similar to scanlation/unofficial translations of the manga? I watch the show on Crunchyroll, and the English subtitle translations there are pretty close to the official English manga publication. For further differentiation, what they’re watching is a translation as Americanized as it can get. It does not leave room to retain things like -kun and -san that Crunchyroll subs use. They are small things that anime and manga otaku often learned because of how they help distinguish how things are being said in the Japanese context that don’t fully translate into English because of the culture.

@@3MGLIVE Ik Japanese well,a lot of the stuff the subtitles is saying is entirely different from what the show is convoying,use the main subtitles in Crunchyroll much better and i can guarantee you it's much more better
