The Milan was the Mercury twin to the Ford Fusion. The Mercury Montego was the twin to the Ford Five Hundred. They were both actually Volvo 850s I had a 2007 Montego, nicest car I ever had. I muss the 6 disc changer.

I have a special connection to the Explorer Sport Trac. From the time I was 2 years old, I knew I wanted one and I even asked my nana to bring me to the Ford dealership (keep in mind I was quite literally a toddler still learning how to talk) and see one. *They did not have one because they had been discontinued by then*. It stayed my dream car until I was about 10 years old until I realized there are better trucks out there but I still feel this truck has a special place in my heart. P.S I even wanted a bright red one but the first generation

I owned a 09 Milan with the 2.3 L 4cyl. It was a nice looking car with a touch of luxury. It was a great highway cruiser as well. My brother ended up using it as an Uber and drove it to 275 K before selling it to buy a Corolla.

I agree, however as long as it is NOT THE 3.0 V6!! I had a 2000 Ford Ranger Supercab step side with that GUTLESS 3.0L V6. It was the very first vehicle I ever bought for myself. I had an ‘89 Mazda 626 before that!! However my first duty station after joining the military was Alaska and I didn’t think it would work well in that climate even though I grew up in Boston and it worked there. I thought I NEEDED a truck or 4X4 SUV!! So I bought that Ranger when I got there in very early 2005. I still say to this day, close to 20 years later that there HAD to be something wrong with it because even after having the engine replaced (my own fault not the truck they put in a used engine and even after that it STILL ONLY EVER GOT 10 MPG no matter what I did. Fuel filters, cleaned the injectors, ran cleaners through it. I remember I would only get 200 miles per tank and in Alaska in 2007 gas was $4.00/gal ON BASE even with the pipeline running RIGHT THROUGH THE ENTIRE BASE!!! I’ll never understand that, and YES there was a local refinery as well (as well as a bar in North Pole Alaska that I used to go to all the time until I was told I wasn’t allowed back for damaging some of their property but that’s another story. My point is, DON’T WALK…..SPRINT AWAY FROM ANY RANGER WITH THE 3 POINT SLOW MOTOR!!!

You would be amazed at how many Rangers, NOT the current generation, and Sport Tracs there are still in use as daily driver/work trucks running around our area. One gent I know purchased a Sport Trac simply because he could not find a Ranger like the one you featured in this video and currently has just over 300,000 miles on it! Great video!

The Rangers with the 4.0 were great. My grandfather purchased a brand new one in 1996 with the 4.0 in it. That truck went well over 300k miles, probably close to 350k, before finally giving out.

The Milan was the Fusion basically, middle of the range, below the MKZ, which was the nicest one you could get. That Sport Trac is interesting, I like those as well.

PLEASE BUY THAT 260k MILE MILAN!!! The Mercury Milan/Ford Fusion first gen (basically exactly the same except Milan was a bit more luxury) were some excellent cars. I’ve had 2 fusions one with the same V6 as the Milan. Great car

Those sport trac adrenaline come with two engines options which is a 4.0 liter V6 or the 4.6 liter V8. I think they are sought after especially the V8 model

I had a 2006 Ford Fusion. Same car as this Mercury Milan. It was very reliable to me, a real good go getter. I upgraded to a 2010 Taurus. That Fusion could be fixed by anyone. Aircon sucks on them. I did everything to mine and the AC always blew out the defrost.

The Mercury Milan was based on the Fusion. The Montego was based on the Taurus/500. As for the road rage, just it go. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll forget about it when you just let the person pass you or remove yourself from the situation.

I’m pretty sure that Hellcat Challenger was in a High speed pursuit. That plastic device stuck to the passenger side door is a tracker that is lunched from a squad car and sticks to the car they are pursuing with a GPS tracker built in.

IDK if someone has already answered the question, But on the red Ford Ranger the writing is from a hail estimate. For example 31 N 10 O/S means that they counted 31 nickle size dents and 10 of those dents were considered oversized. On the door it also had a 25% next to the dent count, which means that the panel was either made of aluminum, high strength steel, or is was double paneled.

On the ranger, when it says 16 N or 101 N, the number is the amount of dents on the panel, and the N stands for Nickel sized hail dents

Randy, like Daniel said The Milan is the Mercury Twin to the Ford Fusion (1st gen) like the Mercury Mariner is to the Ford Escape, these are amazing vehicles and can go for a lot of miles if the automatic transmission gets proper fluid exchanges and if they're AWD, their Transfers also need proper maintenance The best thing about the Fusions/Milan/Escape/Mariner/Taurus is their Duratec 3.0 V6 DOHC engine with SMPFI Fuel Injection (old school port sequential injection which won't carbon up like more recent fords with Direct injection) various Ford Techs compare the duratec 3.0 to the old 2 Valve 4.6 V8 found in Crown Victorias in terms of reliability 👌🏻

The Ranger and Explorer Sport Trac are both great trucks! I see older Sport Tracs and Ranger all the time with just insane mileage! They run forever and don't stop. Its sad that the red Sport Trac sold would of been nice to see you bid on it Randy. The Ranger though would be a great buy even though its not a manual. Love the Milan I don't see many around anymore but still good cars. If you bid on that it would be nice for some videos on the channel. Great video as always Randy!👍👍

Being 36 years old and living in New England my entire life, I can say I have never seen hail. Or a tornado for that matter. Does hail damage total every vehicle? Does it cost more for insurance, like is there a special clause for hail damage? I just started watching this channel and am amazed at how many vehicles have hail damage.

I had a 2006 Mercury Milan and they had a history of the starter going bad. I'm actually looking into getting another one. The one I had was a V6 Premier and the one I'm looking at is a 4 cylinder Premier. My honest opinion, they are good cars.

@autoauctionrebuilds I absolutely love those Adrenalines. I have only seen 3 or 4 ever. The first one I saw was about 4yrs ago on the highway. I immediately felt the desire to own one some day. These are very close to the same size as the new Ranger for less than half the price. I would rather have an Adrenaline than a new Ranger.

The Ford Five Hundred (2005-2007) & Mercury Montego (2004-2007) were full size cars based on the Volvo P2/Ford D3 platform (same platform as the Volvo XC70). At the time the Ford Taurus & Mercury Sable were mid-size cars made in parallel with the Five Hundred & Montego. The mid-size Sable & Taurus ended production in 2005 & 2007 respectively. Then in 2007 they rebadged the Montego as the Sable, and in 2008 they rebadged the Five Hundred as Taurus. The Ford Fusion & Mercury Milan were always Mid size cars. Mercury was discontinued in 2011. The Taurus would then be the replacement for the Crown Victoria after it's discontinuation in 2011 (in the US, 2012 worldwide).

The newer Nissan Leaf is much more easy on the eyes. Plus the range improved a lot. But I think after the 2023 year model they're no longer making the leaf. They need to get away from those chademo chargers also.
