The PC client is sooo good! I really love PGR and have been playing it since it's launch, I recommend you check it out: Download Punishing Gray Raven on PC, iOS or Android here: pgr.onelink.me/V3xI/khmoypr90
the 99% in the title is exaggeration, but if you actually tried to play the game, read into the story, understand the game mechanics, understand the playstyle of each character, you'll for sure enjoy the game. glad it's getting more recognition! edit: the title was once "99% better than any other gacha games"
Ironically even if PGR is the very best gacha game to me, I still see that title as bait (the former one) because if it is actually better than 99% other games why hasn't he uploaded any PGR content before
Their devs are really taking hoyo's route with ARPG and then with Open World with WW, and I'm not even mad because that system works. They didn't really copy but they made it unique to their own, for me they are the best competitor for hoyoverse
I absolutely agree. Kuro Game, PGR's devs, are actually amazing. But It's a pity that we have such a giant gap between CN and Global versions of the game.
@@ANNFPSTV Yeah, but before that you'll have to click some buttons in the settings if you want a better version of the game. For example, for some reason there's emulator-like WASD thing on the screen by default. Thankfully you can disable it in the settings. Sorry for my bad explanation, I don't know how to explain it better in english right now.
Ended up returning during the tail end of pulao banner. (Was able to get 2 copies overtime) been having an absolute blast with her. Kung fu loli and her follow up kit is satisfying to do imo.
Started it this week because of the pc client release. I hit level 40 last night. I'm probably not the typical audience for this. I have cerebral palsy and am legally blind. But thanks to being able to custom configure my controller, I've been having a great time.
This is mostly for new players that will try the game thanks to this video: As of now you can actually get 2 S Rank Characters Selectors, the 1st one you get it just by starting the game and completing some couple Stages (pretty much the tutorial), and the 2nd one you get it by completing some tasks in a Milestone Event that was introduced in this Patch (The Event is not permanent tho). So yeah this is a reaaally good time to start into PGR, even if you don't end up sticking to the game you might get a good idea of KuroGames talent for making games aka. you will get hyped for Wuthering Waves, which is pretty much a Open World PGR that will release in the following months/year/s, either way giving a new Gacha a chance never hurts anyone, ¿right?, hope you have fun Commandant 😌
@@sk8soxerr If you mean the 3-Ping System, then that won't make it into Wuthering Waves, from what I've seen it's gonna be closer to the new released Aether Gazer when it comes to combat, Skill-combo based I think it's the right term, the fast paced nature of PGR's combat will remain in Wuthering Waves so don't worry 👌🏼
@@chrishemsworth3679 We already had the NieR Collab rerun this year, so It's kinda hard for them to come for a 3rd time, but not impossible, pretty sure the CN Server will get the news first if that re-rerun ever happens.
Damn Kuro sponsored like 4 videos within two days :o keep up the good work kuro. And for those who are seeing this comment, try this game out it's worth it! I'm playing for more than a year
As a non-gamer whose first RPG is GI, i am so happy that I stuck with this game. The start is so slow and confusing but after learning the game mechanics (core passives, QTE, dodging, etc), I became invested to it. It's just so sad that there are few husbandos but I fell in love with the combat so getting the meta units is not a problem for me and is, in fact, rewarding. Each character's gameplay is unique and each one has different combos to proc core passives and it is so challenging to master each one of them and it is so satisfying when you do. In this game, whaling cannot dodge for you so you really need that skill to pass the difficult contents. I downloaded this game for Hyperreal. The premium DPS/units are coming soon starting with Bianca Abystigma in Sept, i am so excited! Sorry for the construction of my sentences 😂
PGR is very F2P-friendly. You can afford every character as they release if you only spend your Black Cards on the Themed Event Construct banner (100% rate and 60 pity ). Getting older S ranks is not really recommended as they are not guaranteed (70% rate). The reasons people spend money in the game is to get dupes for more stats, 6* weapons, or CUBs (combat pets), coatings (skins), or exclusive Dorm furnishings. If your goal is to enjoy kickass combat and collecting waifus/husbandos, you can't go wrong with this one. Hop in before you miss out on new character releases 😉
@Kira1807-uy6fe copy-pasting this over and over again, so I'll just debunk all of this right now. Arrogant devs: So incorrect. I'll just list a few things where the devs listened to their community *Making the garage system so generous that f2p can get the debut s-rank on every patch *Removing the "artifacts" from gacha and making the 6 star variants a lot more available through grinding *Taking blame for an advertisement that plagiarized, despite never making it. Gimmicky gameplay: Yes, the orb system is a gimmick, but it's a masterpiece of a gimmick, because rather than unloading the same rotation and waiting for cool downs, you have to pay attention to what orbs you have and choose the right ones, making each rotation different everytime, with minimal downtime. Graphics: No Buddy, the graphics are really good. Just look at the alpha cw vs. twins video, and you won't be able to say the graphics are bad. Boring story: At the beginning, the story is boring, and the lack of voice acting does do even more harm, but the story writing has only improved and improved, with fully voiced cutscenes, and great character arcs. Nier-rip off: That's exactly what the devs were going for, they even got a collab with Nier characters, so thanks for the compliment. Pathetic and arrogant community: Cap, the community is extremely helpful, pointing websites to get help with builds. And if you criticize the game, like it's lack of advertisement, there's no disrespect, instead people will agree with you and seek to make the game better, rather than devolving into a meaningless argument. They even respect other communities, as a top reply regarding a post of AG, was someone telling everyone to not call it a pgr clone. Revenue: Buddy, that 500k only applies for global revenue. With global and cn, together, they make over 1 million per month, but when you count kr and jp, you get an even higher revenue count. F2P's hating the game: That rumor is far from true. If anything f2p's are extremely grateful to the pgr devs for being able to get so much s-ranks, so adding some cubs and skins that cost money doesn't bother them at all. Heck, some of them are available for free too. Also, skill is the main thing which allows a player to clear content, not money. If you spend to max out a character to sss without knowing what you're doing, a f2p will outclassed you with an a rank. Heck even f2p can get sss rank characters pretty easily too. It doesn't cost money to gear up at all, just playing the game on a regular basis(aka every gacha game ever).
Little bit of info on the gacha system. The gacha characters are 100% drop rate on 60 only on their introduction banner. After that every time there is a rerun it goes to 80% and so on and so forth. Still very F2P friendly since like Honkai Impact, you can basically guarantee a SSS rank character simply by playing the events and getting the shards for the character to rank it up (mind you this isn't levelling but more like Honkai where you SSS the char or like Genshin where you get the Constellations).
I still dont understand why and how PGR isn't ontop on the gacha chain if we're going based on the gacha monthly sales. It has the gameplay that gamers are looking for, it has the story that people are looking for and lastly, it has the care that is utmost of importance to the players. Its always hovering around the $500k mark. Most slept on gacha just because it isn't "popular" compared to Genshin and others
it's actually to how they monetize the game because of how generous they are that almost every day 1 f2p player have every character available compare to gacha like Genshin and Nikke they're too predatory that's why their revenue is higher but even with low revenue PGR is still striving especially the PGR CN
IMO it boils down to 1. Gameplay that isn't for everyone since it's not particularly Casual. 2. Lack of any form of Advertisement. 3. It's Monetization and Gacha system which are Consumer friendly. You can get Every character on every banner plus it's signature weapon if you buy the monthly pass which cost like 5 or 6 bucks. For the extra subjective part, what's holding it back is it's early game which can be quite overwhelming and also underwhelming. The mechanics is a lot to take in, while the Writing for the early chapters are very stiff and a bit boring.
Might be marketing. Unlike other gacha games PGR less use marketing or advertising on their game. My friends didn't know about this game until I recommended to them. On the same time, PGR is quite f2p and more rely on player's skills. Most important constructs encourage to pulled until SS is enough already. More than that is comfortable gameplay.
Oh god, it's been forever since I first saw this game recommended to me on youtube When I first saw it, I thought it was some new devil may cry-like game. Then I learned it was mobile only and the footage was likely Blue Stacks. This was back when a PC client was basically not on any publicly considered patch plan. Then I heard a PC client was officially in development. FINALLY. This goddamn game about stylish combos is officially on PC. I'll gladly use your personal link just as thanks since I'm not plugged into PGR news and had no idea, despite my immense interest. Hearing its actually kind of a lenient gacha was just a nice compliment.
I started playing PGR last week when I learned it came out on PC. I had tried it earlier on mobile but it was way to hard for me to grasp yet on PC it feels amazing. Totally f2p friendly, story might seem a little simple at first but it goes much better with time, gameplay feels rewarding and I also like our role as Commandant. Additional points for hot guys since a lot of gatcha tends to forget girls also like to play. The weirdest thing with this game is that I don't feel the impulse to pull all the time since we get 1 free s rank, guaranteed S rank, free character at lvl 52 ect. There is always something to do. Years of using Zhongli made me a player that forgot what dodging is but this game restores my reflex.
@@oars_024 Totally agree. With such temps it's actually players that volunteerly advertised game instead of devs success. I don't know whenether to laugh or cry.
A tip for pc players, press Y (while in the field) to swap to mouse mode, where u can move the cam using ur mouse instead, as well as dodge and attack. Heavily recommend lowering camera sensitivity btw. I recommend rebinding a couple of the keys in the settings as it'll only show (on screen) what the 1st keybind is, which by default is for the keyboard mode one. For me i just changed interact to my mouse 4 and made R the 1st bind for ultimate.
I enjoyed PGR back when I played it... I started around the NA launch, I think, but dipped shortly after the Nier collab ended. I liked the combat and animations well enough but the game always felt so... obtuse and hard to understand to me. It felt like a more complex and confusing Honkai Impact 3rd (which might be unfair since I was familiar with that game's systems) and just wasn't what I was interested in. I kinda wanna try out the PC client, but at this point I'm already juggling Genshin, HI3rd, Star Rail and Tower of Fantasy. I'll likely just wait it out for Wuthering Waves, but it's cool to see PGR getting more attention! As much as I love the character designs in those other games, PGR really hits a sort of "edgy cyborg anime niche" that I really enjoy, and the combat animations are top notch.
@@matthewstef7441 Genshin is definitely the top, but ToF is a solid runner-up. I enjoy the world, character design and aesthetics of ToF a lot, I ust wish it wasn't an MMO. I'm a solo player and as such miss out on a lot of the stuff ToF has to offer, sadly. Star Rail, I stopped playing. I wish I liked it more but the gameplay and everything about it that isn't the visuals just couldn't keep me. I realized I wasn't enjoying playing Star Rail after like the first week and would just auto battle, do my dailies, and log out.

@@betterretromess Honestly in my experience on TOF the only thing wrong with the game being MMO is the bosses NEEDING a team of players to take it down, otherwise I barely see anyone else and barely interact with my guild mates. Star rail I agree with you, it just got stale too fast, I have who I want and I’m kinda done for a while until the story far enough ahead that I dont have to do it in increments. Rn I’m spending all my time and energy with PGR bc its awesome, and I’m waiting for Bianca alter
still amaze me how they don't use ads to draw in player rather they sponsor youtuber and let them review the game. sometimes they don't even sponsor them and yotubers just do it cuz they love the game also he didn't mention this but right now there is also another S rank character selectors up to Luna. which means if you play now you can get a free S ranks for creating an account only 5 starting character but 2 of them are still good, another S rank for reaching 40 pity on standard banner which have all S ranks except for Nanamech since she's a new character and another S ranks selector for doing the event and you can pick whoever you want up until Luna Release which would have the 5 starting character, Lucia Crimson and Lucia Plume, Luna, Rosetta and Bianca did i mention you can also pick the A rank character that you want on standard banner ?
Don't appreciate that clickbait title. This is supposed to be an ad, but since it's a video, people will take it as more credible than an ad. Edit: The title used to be something like "THIS GACHA GAME IS BETTER THAN 99% OF THE COMPETITION". Luckily it's better now
Playing it since global launch. For me, its actually harder to play it in PC if you ping orbs with keyboard keys since each orb placement requires one key bind. What I did is switch camera mode where you will ping orb using mouse. The left click is disabled during this mode so I switched left and right click in settings so I still do normal attacks using mouse(right click). Bascially left click to ping orbs, right click to attack. This config is much more closer from mobile controls, where you ping orbs and attack using right hand, but this time you're using mouse to do both.
the PC client is a great improvement in the right direction, but I think it still has miles to improve, especially if you intend on playing with controller. I found it easier to navigate the menus with keyboard+mouse, and play the combat with controller. It´s in a weird place, because playing the combat with the controller is excellent, but using it to select the missions, build characters and everything is a complete pain. However, using keyboard+mouse in combat is very janky, and all the keybinds the game uses are weird at least. Even changing everything I still found it not-intuitive. I'm with high hopes for the game and Kuro in general, and I really hope they fix some stuff, but right now the PC client is in a weird position of usability, at least imho.
Holy dang. This looks like the game I'll be playing after absolutely completing genshin. I'm AR60, have over twenty lvl 90 characters and reeeally want to try something new! This looks like a super fun replacement.
Just try playing it. I'm also the same, this is so fun with the combats and the same devs are working on open world RPG, Wuthering Waves. This game is good for practice before Wuthering Waves get released 😆
Yeah i been playing on Bluestacks since 1.0 and the PC client is a massive improvement. Love this game. The Nier colab was what got me into the game after seeing it on the JP server.
The PC Client is great I went on a hiatus for half a year after playing the game for a few months cuz of lag, delay and performance issue using emulator but after I found out we got a PC client for Global server I install the game and been enjoying it, oh and free S rank selector and lot of free pull for returner make it worth coming back. Definitely gonna play PGR a lot until WW official release. Genshin is still a much more complete game with varying amount of content and of course huge world with countless OST but PGR is definitely much more generous in giving reward for F2P. Genshin rarely give free 4 star let alone 5 star while PGR consistently give out free 5 star and pulls so unless you went on a hiatus for too long you can get most if not all character as F2P edit: I wish you add link for the PC client too and not just the app version, I know you just following the ads requirement and all that but you know, might as well
I have been waiting for the pc version of this games for a while, at least a year and i'm so happy there is one now i'm downloading it as i'm writing this :D
I have played punishing gray raven form day one but it was on my mobile, I was 60 to 70 lv maybe and i have not played the game for over a year, Now i am downloading the pc client right now to play it
@@Ava-nf2qq double dodge when the staff bar (the one in the bottom, middle). when you're outside ult, you need to click orbs twice, clicking the same colored orbs or different colored will make different attacks. during ult, you do double dodge then click the orbs thrice. always prioritize 3-ping too because it deals more dmg
"I also think she's categorized as a tank" Trust me.. Everything can be damage dealer in this game. 😂 I'm using Vera Garnet as my main and she's also categorized as a tank, but she hits harder than my attacker constructs.
I recommend you only use 1,2,3,4 buttons for the first 4 orbs and not go all the way. Instead, use any buttons that can be reached by your left thumb for the last 4 orbs. That way you don't need to stretch your fingers and disrupt your game.
I’m excited to play it in the vacation (*≧∀≦*)💜 I like the costume thing, it’s not like Genshin impact that we have to bye it 😅😂 It’s not available in my country 🙁
the game works perfectly with a controller (better than m&k IMO). if ya'll are still unsure if you wanna try it' there's an event right now that lets you select an S rank character. That's 2 s rank that you can pick (event + beginner [beginner has less characters]. aside from that youll get another S rank in the beginner banner which has a 40 pity. thats a full team already
Fighting evil army robots is not enough, since the lore of the game is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCHHHH deeper than it is since it's heavily related to morality a lot, oh and a lot of sufferings too (especially Chapter 16-18!)
Which is also a plus because with enough time you'll find yourself be able to fully build a character in like a day or two compared to Genshin. I tried this on a new account in PGR and I was able to get her whole BiS set to max in two days as a new player(no resonance yet). The stamina cost efficiency for event stages to the materials you'll get is insane the fact that you can also get the previous characters set's from there as well.
Without stamina cap u basically have an infinite amount of resources and needless to say what it would do to a game. Plus, only resource and story stages cost stamina. All event stages do not consume any stamina at all.
As an old player momentarily quits for a year due my old phone issue..... Now having a new phone, defenitely I'm going have a comeback to my old account Alpha main 😎 missing Lucia and the crew now 😊
Runs 120 fps easily and without frame drops, 144 fps with vsync for me, ost are great, liked the characters a lot (Vera step on me), NieR trio has the same VAs from oiginal NieR game with A2 still having berserker mode and the game actually recognses and allows me to map functions to the extra keys in my mouse.
I know it sounds like a flex but this game has set the bar so high, especially combat aspect, that now I cant seem to fully enjoy other hack n slash gacha game like AG which is a really good game too
The only 2 things that annoy me: 1st is how the orb system could have been just 3 as the colours maybe on mobile it's OK but on PC it's a pain and 2nd really wish they did a dub for at least few important parts of the hame for the global release
xD u are supposed to do double dodge on Liv Empyrea when her core bar is full and when she in her ult... Do it, and ping sets of orbs, u gonna see some insane effects, very beautiful skills
Basically me at 6:15 : No... No. No! NO!! NO!!! *WAITWAITWAITWAIT* But actually, I like Nanami Pulse, and coincidentally I did pick her when I first started because a cute, enthusiastic girl with a chainsaw. Who wouldn't? I know she isn't meta but I appreciate and use her often.
Coming back to PGR after 1 year, I thought I will be overwhelmed with all new chara, content, story, ect. But, I'm surprised that there are not that many changes. There are many new stages that I haven't completed but not that much and there's a many new faces but for a YEAR and only that much has comes out is unsettling. compared to the other gacha games when after a month of not playing there's so many changes and new stuff happening that I even think that am I playing the same game I used to
I absolutely love playing PGR. However, it's a pity that it restricts me like Genshin too though... And by that I mean mostly the "energy" system, or "resin" if you are from Genshin :D
I was in the perspective that gacha gamer was like a casual player that is on and off on pgr due to the amount of S rabks he have but I suddenly saw the SSS rank Liv 😂. My guy really enjoyed her so much he pulled for 5 copies
The only thing I hated about the game is that it's really difficult to get into after a break, I tried but it was too many things on my screen, too overwhelming.
well let's just say the devs are finally going to the slightly right direction, because you don't play a game built to play like a Devil May Cry in a smartphone, right? It already has the best of everything, but a game like this is meant to be played with a controller.

I started playing this game a couple months before the PC version was officially announced. I was like oh hell yeah I'll just wait for that then. That lead me to forgetting about it. This video just happened to pop up in my recommended and now I know what I'll be doing for the next few months
it is woth imo, gen 2 dps is insanly cool and old character get buff, im waitting for globa release of abyss bianca and electic alpha, hope I can get those 2
I got the Nier team and to be honest some if not most of the original characters are more fun to use. Nier is just an extra but it doesn't really make the game.
i stopped playing mainly because of the stamina shortage at level 80++ as an f2p. Farming and fully building a character takes so much time as an f2p because of the very limited daily stamina, while the stamina cost for each content is just too much imo. Not to mention how long it takes to even afford a 10 pull. It's pretty generous at early-mid game but once you hit 80+ it's more punishing. I love the gameplay very much and the unique characters skill mechanics, but everything else is just putting me off from continuing.
@@Kramer_. leave bro, they say they're level80 and say affording 10 pulls is hard... Can say, doing only dailies and weeklies even except other BC grindings you can easily stack up 6-7k BC per patch...
I like this game, but cannot convince it to install on my C drive. It insists on installing to my slower D drive and the load times are awful compared to my ssd. Also can't seem to get left mouse to work as attack, it always defaults to free looking. I can't even find their support page on the website to try to sort out these issues.
