Man I just found your channel. I was watching the Before your eyes video, I stopped the video after 5 minutes, went, bought the game, played it, cried my eyes out and finished the video. All this has taken place over the last 3-4 hours. And after looking through the videos you upload, I can already tell this is one of those channels I'll keep coming back to for years

I needed a nice calming video. Things have been tough these last several days. We found a tumour in my 10 yr old's brain. After 7 hours of surgery on Friday, they weren't able to get it all. So things have been stressful and overwhelming and exhausting and heartbreaking. This video, while a little sad, was very soothing and I was able to get a little kip while listening. Thank you, Morph. 💜

Convo at ~45 minutes- I agree completely. Making a spectacle out of someone in a time of need is just cruel. A lot of the ones I've seen don't even have the decency to blur the person's face, either. Being homeless or really poor is demeaning enough, so it sucks to see people being forced to give up what dignity they have left to get some help.

If you're looking for something vaguely similar, I also recommend 'Alter Ego', though there isn't much to do there other than collect Es and unlock new tests or stories.

This game makes you think about too many things and I'm already struggling... This may be a trauma dump so don't read it but.... I lost a child in 2020 to depression essentially, one of my surviving children told his brother last night that he was planning on doing the same and when questioned about it essentially said therapy and medication isn't working and trying to look forward to things just hurts now so why not? I contacted the therapist but I wonder about myself as well now because my first thought once I'd done all I could for him was that I can't imagine going through that again so maybe I should just do it first.... And I'm just alone. I'm completely alone and drowning in pain and terror... I can't keep doing this because, even without the thoughts, my heart's just going to give out. It already feels like my heart is trying to pump glass shards through my body... Is life this hard for everyone? Does everyone struggle to keep distracted because otherwise they'll think and then they'll break? Does everyone constantly feel like glass is spreading through their body while they're being stung all over by bees? When you walk does it feel like there's knives in your feet and your pelvis is broken so every step is agonizing and leaving the house is terrifying because you might collapse and just be stuck and alone? And being alone is terrifying because at any point someone may come along and hurt you again? Is this just what it means to be alive? I always thought I'd just protect my kids from the hurt and pain and they'd have good lives but I guess I failed.... And if this is just what life is than I'm a horrible person for bringing children into this in the first place

44:40 This actually happened to my sister as a kid. We went to the Melbourne show and there was a tv presenter recording the game events. My sister was given a giant teddy by one of the operators of the ball game. Once the presenter moved away, the operator snatched the teddy from my sister (who was about 6-7 at the time) and said you don't deserve this. An argument ensured. The presenter wasn't far away and saw what happened and eventually came over to apologise for that as he knew the operator was only in it for views.

Maybe it is an age thing because I agree, altruism-as-content isn't altruism at all. But I'm old and crotchety, so what do I know.

AI might be fascinating (it is) and with the right focus could actually be helpful (it is in some areas) but as professional artist and game developer I have suffered for it... a lot. It can't be compared to the invention of the printing press because with all honesty: the printing press was invented as a tool to speed up production and did improved lives, not with the goal of replacing human beings in the chain of production. (I've seen truly vile things in this industry, including hiring a 2d artist in a game studio for them to use their work train and AI and discard the poor person away like they're some broken toy) Generative AI, for texts or images is not only based on illegal theft, but have ruined a lot of jobs and job opportunities, and not only beginner ones :(. It's hard to explain how sad it is how nearly spiritual and healthy drawing can be, as a method to communicate with the world, not just paint a pretty picture, but to tell the world I want you to see this that it's withing my mind and soul and I want to share it with you and to make the world a slightly better place. It's the closest to magic humans can do, pure joyful creation. It has help me cope with some really hard times in my life and part of that special art that means the world to me... has been crammed inside an AI, to get butchered and regurgitated in the form of some... souless crude imitation of what we strive to share. That day I saw that happened, it broke my heart a bit and filled me with rage tbh. As someone who also has struggles with mental health and see the importance of how friends, family etc can help you heal and how beautiful human interaction is... the fact some people will certainly use AI to prey on already vulnerable lonely people and made them ever more lonely with all kind of AI chatapps is a worrisome one as well. I do stay optimistic though, I know the bad uses for AI will end up dying out when people get bored of them because unlike humans they don't have inifinite potential for change and growth, they will hit their ceiling and that's it. And we already have tools to protect our art, ironically, an AI as well, since the problem is never tech, is only what's used for. as to your AI question, I think that the idea that it is not something we can escape is just propaganda. these AI companies want us to believe that their version of the world is the only one that can ever exist, and theyve been trying very hard to sell this idea. when in reality, we have the power to control how AI develops, and if it is developed at all. we can put pressure on our politicians to write laws which protect actual humans from the consequences these tech companies are happy to ignore and call inevitable. these AIs are also not nearly as powerful or helpful as people think, so letting them run things unregulated is such a truly terrible idea.
