Honestly a perfect statement. A lot of people say this when a product hasn't really begun to show its age, but this game has. The HUD is a little dated, the water isn't as good as future games, and certain textures, objects, and shading don't look as good as they once did. When you account for the atmosphere, though, this game is just miles better than any game I've ever seen. The lighting, the particles, the sound design, I could go on. It's just a perfect example of aging like wine.
This is literally the only FPS I still play. Even if you go negative, you still have a blast. Every match feels like a campaign mission/cutscene. Absolute masterpiece of a game.
Its insane how good this game still looks. The atmosphere, the lighting, the sound design, pure entertainment. Then 2042 feels like an extremely watered down version of everything...
I played it a lot before but I tried going back on the Xbox series x because it’s 120 fps but I couldn’t deal with not being able to change the FOV and the game being 720p isn’t great either
hit it on the head with this one. One of the main reasons I love them. True freedom and sandbox fps feel. You can approach situations (usually capture points or vehicles but perhaps a nice squad that lines themselves up for u lol) in any way your brain can conceive.
@@sitlong1 only difference between 3 and 4 is 3 had harder recoil to master imo. Just a little. Battlefield 4 is mostly just more battlefield 3 with better and more of everything. Not here to debate it though. Just wish it was the same dice making these games nowadays :(
I feel like Bf4 gets better with every year simply because the newer Bf and other games show us how well we had it back in the day. What I would give for basically the same game but with modernized mechanics and graphics...
@@enjoi9970 Every game has issues. Look at 2042 then. With that game almost everything is an issue and pretty much nothing works. Cod isn't doing a lot better currently either with sbmm, skill based damage, reused content, technical problems etc. Games aren't perfect but Bf4 was the closest we ever got to a perfect Battlefield game after all the major issues were fixed...
I remember that if you flew a chopper all you had to have were 2 Engineers riding with you and spamming the repair toll and you could virtually stay in the air forever.
Some of us never stopped playing. Plenty of servers full of people and has still has regulars populating servers. If maxed out this game on Xbox one and 360 and am Currently working on weapon mastery’s (500 kills on each gun) to keep busy. Getting to know every weapon is this game really opens your eyes to how many ways there are to play this game. Also recently streamed Bf3 campaign and man oh man how that game still holds up.
@@IamBATMAN2024 It was good when it came out. It just as not aged well in my opinion, especially compared to Battlefield 3 that came out just a year after and still feels mostly modern.
I can sense the happiness in your voice when you play bf4. I fully understand it because the voice in my head does the same thing when I play it. It's just a special feeling that is not present in 2042.

@@enjoi9970 Unique Gunplay, vehicles, good customisation across the board, great maps, balanced positions for Rush and Conquest, then there’s Server Browsing, General, Team and Squad chat, voice chat, Scoreboard for both teams, custom servers released and reliable timeframe from DLC. Oh, the above is all there before any pesky DLCs muddled the picture up.
@@smoketinytom gunplay was terrible (TTK is too fast and recoil mechanics are too random), vehicles were ridiculously too overpowered and spammed way too much, customization was gimmicky when a lot of the attachments were just reskin of other existing attachments, Maps are some of the worst in the series as well.
@@enjoi9970 Yes, the TTK was quick when you hit the target. Vehicles were easily beaten with Rockets and C4 and Slam Mines. Yes, the attachments were US, RUS and PLA skins of the same thing, but it’s something people could work towards, their favourite versions of the same thing. Map wise, yeah they had a blunder, compared to the blunders that are in the 2042 lineup.
I really hope that Dice will put back the chinese faction in the next battlefield, because it's more realistic. After all it would make sense to have the 3 most powerful countries present in a modern war.
The thing with BF4 is that yes, it was broken at launch but the ingredients for a great game were always there. With BF2042 I'm still trying to figure out what the ingredients are.
BF4 is all I've been playing lately.... hit reg is amazing and no (obvious) cheating. In BF1 and V it seems like there are hacks in every single match.
I wish the next battlefield is in year 2025 awesome continuation to bf3 and 4 making the game with dope maps and lots of camos and attachments would be nice
Guys I can't believe it's already 9 years I remember how I came home out of school and play it for long hour when I was 8 y.o. This game have very special place in my heart
It's strange to me that you can have such good feeling weapon mechanics for so long. Even playing BF2 with my dad i remember the weapons feeling impactful and immersive. Then BF2042 the guns just feel off, i guess is the best way to put it.
i think what really makes this game was the destruction leveling a building in this game isnt like any other battlefield also the guns and handling of them isnt like any other battlefield as well also good call on not playing tarkov right now im going to wait until tomorrow to try it anyways theres not going to be a working server for streets prob for a couple days unless your lucky and can get in
"Maybe that's where we are headed" heard that before the latest release and before that lol 😂 Ain't going to happen, we need a new game like BF4. Dice has lost their chance.
@@enjoi9970 Seriously. Battlefield 4 has not aged that well, and looking back there were some serious design flaws. Battlefield V is what was really sending the series in the right direction imo, vehicles finally had some nuance and class balance and incentives have never been done so well. Really hope that's what they look towards too, instead.
They said 2042 was largely based and inspired by bf3 and 4, and look what happened there. We just have to accept that the dice studio is nothing compared to what it was .
I absolutely love BF4. Currently playing it again. The biggest gripe I have is the wall glitch on locker. People exploit the crap out of it. Plenty of players on XB1.

this game was and still is such a MASTERPIECE , every expansion was great and like jack said: you really had a roll and in this game: teamwork makes the dream work. love bf4 content ❤
