Magicube Part 1 - I've been missing the hard puzzle games. Puzzle games in general have been getting soft, and sometimes you need a no funny business really hard game, and Magicube delivers. How long will it take me to solve these puzzles? Let's find out with a timer.

I wish they'd do that for every game. It's so nice, being able to compare our times against Tyler's. I like the concept of racing in a puzzle game, but the distinct lack of puzzle aficionado friends means I never really could.

@@anteshell I'm not blinded by fanaticism, you are being unfavourable by actively going out of your way to dose people's enjoyment, implying that you have a better understanding and that the other person is a simpleton for regarding something menial as anything remotely great in their eyes. I did not insult you sarcastically, I am sarcastically pointing how you are portraying yourself in our eyes, whether you like it or not. Matters not the intention, you still exude a full sense of snobbiness. There are plenty of ways to go about this, completely ignoring it with your thoughts still prevalent and technically correct, putting it lightly like 'It is just one joke over and over again', or what you did and basically be analytical about an admittedly high praise for the editors, which is also something menial. yet you're here trying to fend us off with your words as if it is a 'Woe is me!' circumstance when it realy wasn't until you came along and decided to be cynical and unnecessarily vocal about your unfavourable opinons. You can do that, sure, but we can absolutely make fun of you for that as well. Freedom of speech. Also, very, very ironic for you to claim all the things like me being very hateful against anyone who disagrees with me when you can even ask my IP provider that I have lovely debates that don't tend to end in agreements but still resolve peacefully despite our differences. As if you aren't currently insulting ME with baseless assumptions and being completely hypocritical. What a wonderful person you are, I suggest YOU hang around professionals instead, my friend.
@swordzanderson5352
@swordzanderson5352 10 месяцев назад
@@anteshell Never said I was a great person, I said I have delightful arguments with other people, disproving that I, in fact, am not 'very' hateful towards people who disagree with me, even those that hold onto their differences. And no, that is indeed not you portraying yourself, like I said, that is how you come across, which not only one person coincidentally felt compelled to go against you as they, too found it unfavourable, which is what I said, and exactly what I said, nothing more, nothing less. And you can go and find out that calling you a connoisseur in a sarcastic fashion only says that I am implying that you are, in fact, not a connoisseur, and does NOT imply anything else, nor does sarcasm equate to insult, neither does a mere joke. And once again, irony here is instead you calling me 'too damn arrogant' when you know next to nothing about me and I have not once claimed to be any more superior than anyone here, when you were the one acting like you know better than the person merely giving high praise to the editor, critiquing them and going way too in-depth on a measly compliment. So, once again, slapping traits on me which IS quite insulting, assuming I am a horrible person, while saying I am assumptious, and also claiming I am arrogant when you were the one giving unfavourable, unwanted crtique towards a mere compliment that is admittedly a bit too much of one. While saying that I have insulted you when all I have done is sarcastically joked about you being a connoisseur of comedy and nothing else, which anyone who actually understands sarcasm and insults would understand that they are not one and the same. Am I mocking you? Yes, you are needlessly critiquing a compliment, and this is the internet, RU-vid comments section, a place where people with too much time on their hands come to chat, argue, debate, yell or say all kinds of things, even IF did the most sensible thing, you'd still have the chance of facing opposition, and the thing is, what you did wasn't the most sensible thing. You can voice out what you think, sure, but like I said, and exactly what I said, no more, no less, I said that your critique was unnecessary and unfavourable, especially towards a measly overrated compliment that is brimming with passion, and hence it comes off as snobbish, hence the sarcasm at the very beginning. And not once have I said whether or not I am reading too much into it, and to which I will admit, I am, evident by the fact that I am using a 3 minutes to type each of these articulate replies to debate with a person that is quite literally insulting me by assuming I am a horrible person without resorting to any personal insults, and might I remind you, again, sarcasm and mockery does not equate to insult, especially when I am directing both of that to your actions and not you, whilst you direct your horrible and personal assumptions towards me. That right there, is pure, undilluted irony.

This game is cool! Seems like it jumps past the first 4-5 worlds of a normal puzzle game and unapologetically expects you to figure out its funky rules. It would suck if every puzzle game was like this, but one or two games like this is cool and novel!

Other than the one where you can create a box before the existing one falls - which is something that I can't imagine actually stumped people, since it's so obvious to try once you get to that point - the game doesn't have any unexpected mechanics. ...Well, now, anyway. I'm guessing the version Tyler played is from several months ago, when the tutorial didn't clarify the block can be pushed?

This is pretty cool. I've always thought about simple looking puzzles with hard solutions, and wondered how far you could theoretically maximise the ratio between difficulty and size. Like, the most "effective" puzzle in a way. i've always thought it was impossible, since puzzles tend to be very subjective in the amount of time they take, but this looks crazy. I don't even know how you would BEGIN to make these levels also theres a missed "what else can i even do" at 2:03

Even though it’s branded as a hard puzzle game, I really don’t like how it handles difficulty. For instance, the trick about standing on the magi cube and shooting it again to get it in a push-able state should’ve been it’s own level. It’s not a good puzzle if it relies on several “patterns” that the player hasn’t been taught about. Once those patterns are isolated and taught in a few warmup puzzles, only then a balanced, but still difficult, game emerges. But this one takes the same approach as a math teacher giving improper integrals to their students before they learn what limits are.
