It’s a game that’s banking on hype and the one time release to make as much profit through marketing. Even if the release was “good”, the game is going to be abandoned.

With how many "small indy studios" release trash games via Early Access, anyone who actually pays for this up front in the first month it is available deserves to lose their money. FFS gamers, wait at least a month for sober reviews to be available before plonking down cash. At this point, after years of developers pulling shenanigane, gamers should have learned that Early Access most often means: "Our game isn't ready. It may never be ready. If it ever becomes good, it will be 2-3 years from now".

If you don’t think this game is a scam then go ahead and buy it on steam, make sure you play at least two hours and then don’t refund it. They started developing this game earlier this year. It 100% will not only not have like 90% of what it claims to have, but it will be dead and buried by the end of next year. This was originally supposed to be free to play so many people like you were saying the same thing: what scam? Now after 3-4 delays and so many issues surrounding this it’s coming out in early access for $40. Good luck playing this catastrophe. Their beta test was internal only, so even if you know nothing about anything related to this game that should tell you enough to keep you away. But it won’t, too many gamers are too stupid and will buy this and regret it. As much as everyone wants this game to be great it just won’t be. People are so fooled by random trailers that are literally copying other games shot for shot that they fail to ask any other questions about this. But sure, it will be all fine once December 7th hits.

Crimson desert was said to release in 2021, skull and bones 2020, suicide squad 2022, beyond good and evil 2 was at E3 in 2016 and that is just a short list of hundreds of games that has been delayed multiple times. I'm also skeptical about this game, but again you go further then just being skeptical and make claims that there is no way you can know at this point based on the information that is out there.

Lowkey whole video vibe is like "HEE HEE FORTNITE HAPPY TIMES YAAAAY TIKTOK WOO" - might be their bad music choices, or just too tight of a budget to spend it on music. With the recent citizencon, things are pretty positive for the community, with all the new content shown being in-engine (at least past the prototype phase), when usually there would be most in the concept phase, and the engine demo of a single 1 billion km spline, the SQ42 feature complete announcement and the magnificient server meshing tech demo. I was in voicechat with my org I literally cried after the end. It's been 9 years for me since I backed the project, and it's actually sooner than I was expecting. What we predict (at the earliest) is seeing a SQ42 release date announced sometime around october 2024, either for the christmas period or 2025. We don't think the polish phase will be as short as it has been for other games that have gone gold recently. As for SC, it's definitely gotten way better over the years. People sometimes underestimate how much you can already do. It's easy to miss content releasing because it comes in chunk but then you check the game out 2 years later it's a completely different experience. Right now racing, mining and bounties are the best activities, with trading being seriously enjoyable with the right knowledge. And the various communitiy events are the best thing ever. With servers having over twice the capacity they had 2 years ago, things are pretty nice in the verse.

@@Tovinthorn The Division got stuck on what they wanted to be, was it An RPG focused on singleplayer with minor multiplayer elements(co-op), a battle royale (DZ's) or a casual third person shooter with more tactic elements (cover usage and such)? The Division 3 has been announced as on development, guess we''ll see in the future if they found a path or just gonna dig a deeper hole and bury the franchise. Tbh, i loved TD1 even though i just played it recently, and 2 has been getting a lot of new content with even a new story expansion announced, so they're still willing to support the game.

The division never represented itself as a survival game, though. If anyone went in expecting that after playing the beta that’s on them. It was already advertised as a third person coop shooter with pvp elements. And in the end they nailed what they went for with the first one. Second one had and still has so many item issues, although it’s still fun. But they did what they set out to do in both games I think, so I don’t know what else people wanted. I hope they do a third and it’s great.

I don't know anything about the dev, nor am I defending them. The way I see it though, if they're a small Dev, why wouldn't they use AI voices and free music? It looks interesting and I do hope it's good but we'll see!

it's a 'scam' because of the developers history, the number of times it has been delayed, and the fact that it's not a big or experienced team compared to other AAA titles, YET it looks better and more polished than most games today. Something about it just seems off.

theyre a small team. the industry is cut throat as fuck. consumers like you who have clearly never studied the industry (like i have. i studied game dev) or worked in it have no idea just how hard it is to keep a studio going. hell, look at volition. released saint row and it didnt perform, studio fucking died. they need to keep the projects rolling cus if they dont, they wont be a studio anymore. sure, you can argue that they should have staff to keep older games afloat, but c'mon dude, theyre clearly limited on resources (hence store bought assets, that are there for studios to use by the way) so they arent gonna limit their staff to working on old games when they actually need the new one to survive as a business

People bought their earlier games on the promise and expectation that they will be finished later but they were just abandoned instead. If they can't release a finished product then they should just close the studio.

Its an MMORPG set to release next month with no Alpha or Beta testing, someone is for sure getting scammed.

The point everyone is trying to make is not that the game is a scam right now, but that it is setting up to look like one. The game uses premade assets, plagiarizes advertisements, the teaser looks identical to hundreds of other games, and the game looks like a straight rip off of division. While they havent made any attempts to sell the game yet, people are preemptively judging it based on its current appearance, and expecting it to be a scam before any more info comes out. I think it looks like a fuckin scam too, I've seen dozens of games that look nearly identical to it and they were scams so i expect this one to be the same.
