I love rummage sales, you find so many items for great prices and also give support to whoever is having the sale. That lady was so rude to start getting into the box you were looking in! It's just common courtesy, and it's not like she couldn't have been looking in the 10 other boxes of purses until you were done with that one!

I don’t think garage and church sales have any rules when it comes to rights to a box,but I would have just picked up the box and said I’m buying everything.I spotted a bag of video games at a goodwill it was difficult to see so as soon as I asked to see it (glass cabinet) 2 people got right up next to me ready to grab them from me if I put them down,so I told the worker to put these aside for me then I went around the corner to check the prices to what games I could remember. This way I could still let it go without losing it. I paid 40.00 for 225.00 of Sega genesis games.

What a great sale!! You got quite the haul. As for the lady digging in the purse box…soooo rude! I totally agree that when someone is looking in a box, you wait until they are finished to start looking in it. The church had rows and rows of things to look at, so she could have looked elsewhere until you finished! You handled it perfectly!!

Here in New Zealand, anyone can look in any box, cupboard or tote at the same time as someone else. The only person with preference is the sellers..every item is open for all buyers. Thete is the fast and the last 😬 we have a very small pool to buy from

Most U.S. sellers wouldn't say anything about it either, but it's not like that was the only box there - she had at least 10 other boxes of purses she could have looked in until he was done with that one.... But it sounds like reselling in New Zealand is pretty cut-throat?

I don't think there is any garage sale "etiquette" it's a free for all....unless it's sold it's up for grabs! I saw a video of you a year ago, wow what a difference in your weight....keep it up you look so much more healthier.

I always do good at our local church rummage sales! Couple years ago I bought 8 baseball hats for $4, 50 cents each, sold 7 of them on eBay and made around $400. Made $50 off of a new delta shower head that paid $2 for. Good stuff! Also I have a church in my backyard that does a rummage sale twice a year, where I got the hats!

I was sorting through kids clothes for my kid at sale and a lady reaches and starts pulling out of the pile I’m standing right in front of digging through. I was so irritated. The lady on the other side of the table was trying to cut the tension she saw on my face 😂

Great sale. U got soo much for a great price. ASA matter of fact u were so polite to that purse snatcher. Thats not cool of her but thank god u already had the good stuff by the time she got there. Real pet hate , in charity shop (thrift store) this morning and looking through the clothing rails , only myself and this woman in the store , walks up and literally knocking my arm as she starts looking at the clothing 😠

There’s etiquette at sales, but some people truly just don’t know. It’s a little different than people who just don’t care. Speculative to say which camp she fell into, but I would lean toward not knowing.

It's who is there first. It's called proper etiquette. She should've got to the box quicker. Then he would have to wait. Example: your at a car lot looking at a car asking the salesman questions about the car. Do you think someone should walk into the building and buy it? They can do it but morally they shouldn't. Up bringing has a lot to do with morels.

Its the same in the UK at Bootsales, you do all the work at a Stall, You get the Box off the Buyer, and as You are holding the Box, people are in there! 😡😡😡 they do get a Swift & Loud F Off!!

About that lady....yes!!!! That is such a pet peeve. It is so rude to dig in a box that someone else is digging in. It was driving me crazy just watching her. Your not crazy.Some people are so self entitled!!!

It's a community sale and you don't own the box of purses, others can dig inside it too. Everyone wants to eat not just watch you stuff your face. ( Figuratively speaking) At the same time she could have said excuse me. Some folks want to utilize these finds and not resell for a profit. I see your point as well some folks can be rude. Good finds!!

Actually, you said “it’s a community sale and you don’t own the box!” Suggesting that even though Paul was digging in it already, and it’s a small box, you could horn in and grab stuff too. Even with the huge Gaylord boxes at the Goodwill Bins it’s considered poor etiquette to jump in on these boxes if someone else is digging. Paul was very correct and polite to hold his tongue, but I really appreciate his manners. In my upbringing you don’t “ jump the queue!” Sounds like you would!

That's one of my garage sale pet peeves, when someone starts looking through a box or bin that you're clearly looking through, especially when there's lots of other stuff to look through. You were definitely right when you said it bugged you.

How rude of that lady😮 the rule iis you dont look thru till the person is done, then they can look. I think she thought im going to get what all hes finding. But you have to wait till the person is finished. Ive seen in other people do this in other videos. But just shows you what kind of people. Greedy ones. Im glad you stuck in there this time paul. I once had a woman stand behind me tapping her foot and then she stomped on my father's foot. It was a church sale and we knew the people running it long story short she was asked to leave and got nothing. People where I live are mean and will push you down to get what they want not all people but quite a few

I would have done the same as you did. I would have kept taking purses from hat box. It was rude of her , but you never know what someone is dealing with. She could have been just rude, or she could have had some mental health issue . With all the stuff at that sale and it wasn't crowded , it's hard to understand why she zeroed in on the same box you were looking through. Did she even find one she kept to buy ?

That woman looking in the same box when there are hundreds of boxes available is the reason i always eat an onion before going. Doesn't matter the time. If the smell doesn't keep people away then i switch to plan 2 and release the onion juices from my body. I hear oh gross and your disgusting and get a dirty look before they leave. But baby, learn. I was looking first. Either wait your turn or happy breathing.
