Join me as I tour a suburban orchard and vegetable garden that produces over 6,000 pounds of produce a year.
On this tour, we take a look at things like tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, blueberries, and much more. We even take a peak at the chickens.
This garden is not only inspirational, but the owner gives insights into how he finds success with his gardening - something he has been doing for over 60 years!
If you would like to see more of this garden and learn about how to garden like Kelly, subscribe to his channel ‪@kellymahan861‬

Are there no thieves in America?? I see no fence around the garden
@DicksonClaim
@DicksonClaim 29 дней назад
He actually mentioned that he will be building a fence soon due to people coming in and taking a bunch of his produce!

@@DicksonClaim ooh that's good, because here in South Africa, thieves would have lifted the whole garden and the owner😂😂😂

I have lots of thieves...birds, and mice are some of the worst. However, several times there have been two legged culprits.

Flowers on your potato plants means thier ready to harvest.
@DicksonClaim
@DicksonClaim Месяц назад
It seems like he was harvesting when the potatoes were flowering, he just pruned the flowers off so they didn't divert energy away from producing 🥔

Harvest 2 weeks after the plant dies, that’s the rule
@exscapegoatpowerfulhealer9685
@exscapegoatpowerfulhealer9685 27 дней назад
@DoumdaDoum no that's a myth like waiting for the garlic plant to die. Not necessary & flowers on potatoes means they've stopped growing the spuds any bigger.

Awesome! What is the name of the type of blueberry netting and black weed barrier he uses?
@DicksonClaim
@DicksonClaim Месяц назад
I'm not sure of the exact name. He said he got both online from Amazon. I have purchased the netting for my garden. You will find several options if you search "garden netting for pests" on Amazon. For the weed barrier, you may have to search around for options. He said he purchased it in a large roll. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more.

The mesh is insect netting from amazon. The black fabric was from Sunbelt or Dewitt on Amazon.

You asked him the name of his channel and he said it was just his name. I couldn't find it again when I searched, can you give his name? Also where is this? State and county if you don't want to be to specific.

Showing a new orchard 3 yrs old? Would rather see it in 10 yrs. Then you would see which don't make it

@DicksonClaim Месяц назад
True. The main part of what I wanted to show was the garden which starts a few mins into the video!
