I had a $100+ mixer ordered on Amazon and after a month waiting, it still hadn’t shipped. While I kept waiting I watched your video on the Typhoon and I cancelled my Amazon order, and bought a Typhoon that showed up on my doorstep in 3 days. They have awesome customer service and it’s built like a tank, I couldn’t be more happy. When I ordered it, they asked where I found them and I told them by watching your videos and they were happy to hear that.

Holy hell, $106! PlazaJapan is selling them for $39 and the regular retail price is $46.48. Even with shipping to TX it's only $58!

These are great. I have tendinitis in my elbow so shaking paint bottles is murder. I have the 4E's one. Best hobby money spent in a long time.

Very interested in this simply because most mixers can have long term wrist damage and I want to avoid aggravating my carpal tunnel as much as possible. Thanks for the recommendation!

Was out of model car building for 60 years, got back in a little over a year ago. Things have changed a lot. Checked out couple model car sites and they were airbrushing there cars. Knew nothing about airbrushing and started searching for info and found your site. Not only took the mystery out of airbrushing, guns, compressors, paints and tools. Subscribed first thing. You do a great job explaining things. I’ve purchased a lot of things you’ve recommended. I bought the four Es. It’s great. I just bought the Vortex mixer because of the hands free clamp on Amazon so for sure I over paid. Amazon prices have become ridiculous, but I go there for the free shipping and mostly good delivery. Anyway, I love your site, it’s been very helpful, and you speak clearly so I can understand you. Some of these other sites the southern accent

Dude, this is weird. I just happened to search for a paint mixer today. I need something that holds the paint for me as I have injured my shoulder. I watched the original video on this vortex mixer, and got one. It is the only mixer I have, and I love it. I think it was mentioned the low speed that can be used to keep a metallic paint mixed until ready for the airbrush, another great feature. For me, it was well worth the cost. LOVE IOT!!!

I have a 4E's and one of these Vortex Mixers. Use the 4e's for mixing things that are hard to get mixed and the Vortex on the desktop for a quick shake. I got mine for somewhere between $65 & $75. Can't remember where I got it from. But it really is a good unit and works perfectly.

brought one of these after the 1st review, I have the 4e's mixer but have limited space to use it, works great glad its available again I got mine from Plazajapan and have used it non stop ever since tbh

This thing is legit - also if you leave it running it will shut itself off after about a minute. Amazing mixer - all I use now

If you want to get a bottle of paint to really give these machines a good test, try some Dirty Down Verdigris for example. That "paint" requires that you shake the absolute hell out of them. The sediment at the bottom of the bottle sticks there really bad.

New here, been watching for past month or so. Just want to say I love your videos and find myself interested in most of the things you talk about and show off. Just getting into airbrushing as a hobby and start diving into painting. So I have plenty of your videos to catch up on!

I have been enjoying your videos for some time now. I ordered this mixer a few weeks ago and i absolutely love it! It is quiet, and really does the job as you showed here. It came complete with a power supply and cable. I do like the auto shut off feature after it runs for about 2 minutes unattended. The unit mixes metalics perfectly and it even resurrected some older metallics i have to my delight. Thank you for your reviews!

The intro music was just way too loud. I woke up my roommates. I turned it down, then found out the dialog was too quiet. So you might want to make sure the volume of the intro matches the volume of the rest of the video. Otherwise, thank you for the video. This stirrer looks much better than all of the other stirrers.

Good thing these are available domestically even if it has to be Amazon. Because if you are unlucky like I was directly importing one from a seller in Japan and it's defective, you are basically SOL. I tried to take mine apart and basically destroyed it In the process. The damn thing is build like a reinforced jigsaw puzzle. So I bought another one and haven't gotten it yet. Hoping it won't be defective too. Vevor makes good little vortex mixers too if you want a cheap option. Just do NOT get the 6000rpm model. I have had the 3krpm model for 2 years and it worms great. Bought the high speed one thinking it would be better and mix faster. Turns out it's horribly designed with a motor that does not have enough torque under moderate pressure to spin up at all. Motor gets power but can't spin. Sometimes it will sometimes not. Before I got to that point I thought it was defective. Got a replacement and the same issue. After disassembling it and tearing down and doing testing did I figure out the motor issue. So I ended up mounting both halves of the mixer to a piece of wood so I can turn it on without pressure. It works ok for small items this way but is otherwise still garbage.

Got from Plaza Japan as well (to Australia), much cheaper. I have a very smooth bathroom tile, zip tied to the top of a brick with a layer of rubber between. I then have rubber feet on the brick. This absorbs most vibration when on the bench top. You still have to push down on the suction cups every now and again but I don't have to hold it down. Well made solid item. Works vey well. Instructions say blue = 40ml + bottles (300-1000rpm) , yellow = 10-18ml (1000-17000rpm) and red = 10ml and under (1700-2400rpm). Runs for 2 minutes. It has a automatic overheating cut out and they recommend letting it cool down after 10 minutes of continuous use. (if it cuts out it will work again when it cools down). Cheers🦘🦘🦘

So I know this review has come and gone. But I ordered this paint mixer and recently got it. This little mixer is legit! This is by far now my new favorite mixer and I do own the two other mixer that Barbados Rex has reviewed on his channel Typhoon and Four e S. This one does an amazing job of actually mixing the paint thoroughly on first try where the other it takes more than tries and it accepts most bottle types. I super stoke with it. I just wish now the made a pint size one! This one of the reason why I follow this channel. You find some golden nuggets!

I paid 65 on ebay free shipping from Japan and got it in about a week, after I saw your original video I had to have it I told a few other people about it they bought it as well and got it pretty fast as well

Just received my Vortex Turbo and I really like it! I’m trying to restore some acrylic paint that got dried out, and the Vortex seems to be really helpful in getting the paint mixed up to where I think I can salvage most of the jar of paint. Thanks for the review of a truly remarkable hands-free paint stirrer!

Hey Rex. Much like yourself iv’e been looking for mixers to review. I just purchased a fingernail polish shaker from Amazon and it works great for hobby paint bottles. I paid $30 AUS for it and I think it’s actually good value for what it does. I’ve also ordered a handheld fingernail polish shaker to test as well. One last thing I want to try is getting a magnetic lab stirrer. I always put two bearing in my bottles so instead of using a magnetic stirring rod to mix the paint I will just magnetise the bearings and that should suffice. Another great video.

Another great video! I'm pretty happy with my 4E's mixer - I got that on Amazon days for like, $75 or $80. When my 4E's eventually fails ( it doesn't seem like it's going to be soon), I'll definitely give this one a try. Hands-free would be awesome.

I just got this on Prime Day. Finally had a chance to test it out this morning and like it so far. It's amazing how quiet it is. I got the Four E's on Black Friday and it's also pretty nice. I guess the Typhoon is next on my list! Edit: The suction cups stick pretty well to clean flooring tile.

Any chance you could add a GW Citadel paint to the next paint mixer tests/showcases you do mate? They're awkwardly sized & shaped, and are hell to mix properly when they settle out. I suspect the Vortex Stirrer will handle them just fine so I'm going to pick one up, I've got a bunch of GW paints that take several minutes to reconstitute on one of those science lab test tube mixers.

This is a great shaker by looks of it. Shame it's difficult to find. I'd bet good money that sooner or later one of those ball bearings will break a glass bottle. I did it with hand shaking one a while back. I'm off to find one 😅

This looks great, but I've really been wanting something to mix standard size spray paint cans. I use them occasionally for larger 3D prints, or I often use them for clear coating. Know of anything that would work with them?

I just received my typhoon & while testing discovered it also has a timer. It will stop after a period of time. I haven't tested if the timer is variable or not, I will leave that to you. I enjoy your videos & have learned a lot. I have made purchases on your recommendations. .Erv Sedlock

What about DirtyDown Rust? That stuff is like molasses. So far I'm sold. The Lab Genius I've got is better than shaking by hand, but it still doesn't do a great job. I'm sold on this.

One more thing, can you tell me we’re I can buy Tamiya acrylic paints for a reasonable price? Amazon is up to $3.80 for 23ml, which isn’t too bad, but they tack on $2.99 shipping per jar, which makes it too pricey for me and I’m a prime member.

I just use a massage gun. Does the job & can be used for muscles as well.
