My Father Sargent Major Tom Courtney Courtney, served as a Green Beret in Vietnam 1964. He did three combat tours in Vietnam. Also was wounded at the age of 17 1951 in Korea. He is 89 now and one of the last surviving Green Berets that marched beside President John F Kennedy Kennedys casket in the funeral casson.

Several errors in the story: 3 enemy bodies he loaded up he didn't know we're enemies he thought they were the local fighters with the forces And he spit in the doctor's face when the doctor was zipping up his body bag assuming he was dead and he could not speak so all he could do was spit to get his attention and it worked

We've done a lot to improve our care for vets in America in recent years and I'm glad for it. I'm not saying it's enough or ever will be, but I'm glad things aren't quite the same as they were in the past. They paid a price we cannot repay, but we can at least do our best to improve their lives now.

Yes from 2016 -2020 many great change happened for the better with the VA hospitals, treatment of vets and horribly long waiting time for treatment. Darn shame it took so long!
@04m6gto
@04m6gto Год назад
@@Maria-go5fd Actually the majority of it happened in 2014, but as we sane people understand, voting for Trump changes the facts for Trump voters and everything good that has ever happened in the United States, happened between 2016 and 2020......for Trump voters.
@CountryBoysWillSurvive
@CountryBoysWillSurvive 4 месяца назад
@@04m6gtoActually the majority did not happen under Obuma. The changes made by Obuma didn’t solve the wait time for Veterans like MSM claimed. Congress tried to fix it with The Veterans Choice Program that was also a failure. Because they limited it to those waiting 30 days or more for an appointment or lived more than 40 miles from the nearest VA. It still didn’t fix the wait times problem still plaguing the BA. Trump signed in the Mission Act which actually which gave Veterans the choice to use private healthcare providers and also urgent and walk in care. And it was made to be permanent so the next Democrat in office couldn’t get rid of it. Just like an uninformed Liberal trying to take credit for something a Republican actually did. While acting like their guy didn’t screw up everything he touched and kicked the can down the road with BS legislation. I guess you think the border is secure right now also.

@VideoNozoki

Type in: "MSG Roy Benavidez speech 1991" (listen to the story first-hand)!!! Roy Benavidez would hate this video. The narrator has put too much of his OWN mindset SPIN on the story. He has put in pauses and cut the story up in a way he thinks is "cool." It sounds like a high school student going over-the-top trying to give a book report about a really cool movie adaption he saw. I STRONGLY recommend you hear the story told by Roy Benavidez himself (the story is good enough just the way it is, it doesn't need any "help" or dramatic imagery). Listen to the story told by the man himself. It is 15 minutes (20min. if you watch the 5 min. Medal Of Honor presentation too). He was there, he knows 100% what happened on that day, and Roy tells it in a VERY easy-to-understand yet COMPELLING way. And Roy Benavidez never felt sorry for himself or thought of himself as a victim. The added anti-war protests, negative military stereotypes, etc. added at the end of the video would have pissed MSG Benavidez off. Roy re-enlisted, he fought his way to get back into the fight. He worked very hard to be there in Vietnam (time and time again). People have the right to be "anti-war". But adding it to this Medal of Honor recipient's video does not fit the situation. In 1991, Roy was still very proud of the Army and proud of his fellow Green Berets and the work Roy did with them. Watch: "MSG Roy Benavidez speech 1991"

For your own potential interests in all forms of special forces warfare You 3 guys should listen to Shawn Ryan's podcast if you all need things to keep your work day moving quicker. Shawn Ryan is a former US special forces guy that went into the CIA but now he's got a really good podcast focusing on all things special forces. While he's pretty much just had US / Canada guys on, he's branching out in popularity and I'm sure he'll get to interviewing more operators from different allied countries. The interviews are very in depth on all things warfare and more importantly you get to hear all these ultimate warfighters share their most intimate experiences of sadness, remorse, and how they've moved on from the things they've dealt with

You'd think the video maker would take a small bit of time to get the facts right on some of history---Korean War started while Truman was President and lasted through the last 2 years of his administration ending in cease fire in July 1953, only 6 months into Eisenhower's first term. The Korean War was not "and effort launched by then President Eisenhower."
