Yes. Top water table experts! Amazing work. Country is undergoing severe water crisis. These people can alter the situation. No problem if govt is not responding or delaying, private agencies, NGOs must come forward and start working right away under their guidance. Govt response takes time. It's time for us to play the concerned citizens and motivate and help the govt instead. These people are common villagers with very high standard of thinking! We should follow their footmarks!
Oooo no no no! Reservation blocks the talented youth. Though it gives an opportunity to people, but, only if there was a system to choose talented youth from the reserved seats.
1 million. IAS officer are glorified clerk who were fit for British era system . 21st Century requires intelligent problem solvers running our affair not some rattus who passed some exam .
I am from Pakistan, but I see this person as a role model for all the developing countries, especially those with the same land conditions and climate. He should be given projects and supported on every level, this science is greater than space science, and making this planet lively is better than wasting a single penny on space exploration missions.
This Pakistani salutes your efforts and I wish this would be implemented by governments at a federal level, all across the Indian subcontinent. If only there were more people like Laxman and Jagveer sahab, the world would be a much better place. P.S. I love this channel!
Hats off to the Village community as well as the Down to Earth community for bringing this beautiful message to the world. Instantly brightened me up after a depressing day. Lots of love. I also pray that each one of us be this aware regarding our environment. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.
You missed the point. Govt or one person or one organization cannot do anything. It's the people from community. Listen to the video again carefully. Solutions are very customised and that's why succeeded.
The gentleman who came up with this idea is brilliant. He works with nature instead of trying to bend nature to his will. Well done. Thank you for this video.
When I was growing up in a village in Kerala, most houses were of one to two acres of land. In each house, there was a pond. Then there were bigger ponds attached to temples where people went to take bath. The village then always had water. Now things are different. Houses are in small plots. Ponds are not there anywhere. Water problems have started despite the fact that Kerala has two monsoons. In June July and in November.
True Vikram. Same memories from my childhood. The difference I feel is that we have stopped focussing on the "COMMON GOOD" and become self centred. I remember that even in the peak of summer, the temple tanks ( " kulams") were full and with one single downpour it used to over flow into the nearest paddy fields.
@@sraj2230 Peaceful religion is implementing it. In three hundred years, across the world unfortunately they will be successful. Then we will not exists as the peaceful religion knows how to care of other religions. Then, they will start to do to their own communities, sects and just as it is happening now killing their own brothers. This is Kaliyug and only the first phase. Wait for the second and third phases.
Turned Desert into an green lush Village Plus Water conservation made them self depenedent Plus Forest, Flora and Fauna, a small weather forecast setup Plus No crapp What a wonderful video. Their dedication deserves applaud. All this without the Govt. 🙏 Salute to everyone 🙏
Brilliant! Bringing back old knowledge and applying new to adapt, survive, and prosper. This is quite a success story. More desolate, arid land could be brought back to life following these types of skills. It all started by one man figuring out why the local pond was failing and fixing it. A community working together with nature. Congratulations!

Dear Sir You had shown that for sustainable irrigation and protection from drought one need not spend thousands of crores of Rupees and build huge Dams. Experience and scientific studies have proven that Big dams are ecologically Disastrous. Salute to you.
In the midst of all the bad news all around the world, it's breathtaking to see what these people have accomplished, and that they are doing it as a village. People need to realize it takes everyone in the village to make it successful, not one rich person who employees half the village....... This practice needs to be shown to African villages, this could save so many lives there.
Dear Mr. Laxman Singh Ji, We Salute for you and your team. You are deserving for national award. I wish will visit your village soon for learn rain water harvesting and other things. Because I also working on Sustainable Community Living in Rajasthan and other states.
Being a Science and English lecturer all my life and having served in rural Punjab,, it is a great experience for others to follow otherwise we are all doomed to extinction. I felt so much pleasure in watching happy villagers and livestock. At the same time felt immensely painful when I see wanton destruction of water bodies and rivers and ground water in Punjab.
People here are commenting that deserts should be converted into these green Areas. People don't know that deserts are also very important. The monsoon of India is dependent on Our Thar Desert. So It's a very bad idea to eliminate desert. Although we should do efforts to stop desertification. We should plants more trees around the desert not in the desert. Although I love the efforts of rain water harvesting. Good work 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think villages don't cover whole of the desert but scattered randomly leaving a large portion of the desert uninhabited. So planting in and around the villages only may not do any harm!
These guys are true heroes . They deserve the highest awards. The government should make them an example and ensure every village goes through this example,
Great Inspiration!! If want to do something good for the society stand up and even if u are alone don't worry there are always good people who will join you. Jai Hind.
Wow great job sir. Laxmanji you are a role model. Thank you for inspiring bit only your village but also other 59 villages to adopt Rain water harvesting. God bless you and your entire team. Lots of love from Mumbai. 🙏
This entire process of self-sufficiency and sustainable development is really awesome! The uncle deserves international recognition for his exemplary efforts.
After ceding water from the Conchos R.into the Rio Grande, with which forms the border with the USA, farmers have experienced a decrease in the water available to them, if we here in Mexico contacted this Honorable Man, we would significantly green the Northern part of our country! Thumbs up, liked and greetings and respect to Laxman Singh Ji.
This is awesome, great stuff. I've always wondered why rain harvesting isn't more common. Here they cut the water off for hours sometimes during the summertime, but yet we have HUGE rainfall in the rainy season. I'll we'd need is a reservoir to harvest water from regular rainwater.
Look at the ancient monuments temples palaces etc they have water harvesting systems that can be recreated now and put to use without electricity but these villagers are doing great job too
There were some very dry parts of Rajasthan in 2012 as I traveled through - lots of soil erosion. This is much needed and I am sad I didn't get to see this.
Very interesting! There is a similar project in Arizona in the US, where rather than a chauka on the surface, what is done is that a plastic or rubber tub is buried in the ground, usually filled with rocks to make more space for water than would be in soil. So it is like having underground ponds to do this 'chauka' system of collecting rainwater, but because it is under the ground it can be made to take only a very small amount of space, or even it is possible to have pathways over it, so long as it does not block the rainwater collection, and even, because of the gutter along the roads in america, many of these have been built to collect water from special gutters and keep it in the environment.
I like that he stressed these systems takes time and planting of the trees are key! This isn’t an over night solution but it is the best solution to droughts! Way to go India 🇮🇳
Great documentary!! This place looks similar to villages in Tamil Nadu!! Great job sir , you turned the dry land into green pastures, of course the people were supportive ❤️
In 2001 the government called him ... ... it's 19 years later now! Obviously it really doesn't matter which political party runs the government, nothing helps but becoming initiative on your own.
