Hello goobers, hello swavy, what I said in the video at 2:56 is only slightly true. Swavy technically did not scam anyone, but from what I have been told and read he bought significantly under valued items from his viewers who were only willing to sell such things to him because he's swavy, so basically taken advantage of. Using your fame to take advantage of your own fanbase and profiting off of them is just as bad as scamming IMO, but it's definitely not the same thing. This was a pretty good video and your points surrounding RU-vidrs were fairly apt. I feel like it's very likely Squid specifically was joking, but the other points were pretty spot on. I personally have a policy of not covering info like this because it obviously could lead to harassment to the player who dropped the item / potential unwanted attention, but there are quite a few people who don't really have bounds in that regard. Keep up the good work / high quality content. Lord knows we could all learn a thing or two

Upon further inspection, Squid probably was just joking about the "im a youtuber" thing, but I think his point extended to "I'll hold on to this for you because even if I get hacked, the admins will just give me the item back to give back to you" I really don't believe he personally had malintent, although obviously the statement could be construed any number of ways.

Maybe, but I feel like the sentiment of his remark for the most part was serious. Obviously I could be wrong but he didn’t sound sarcastic outside of the “I’m a RU-vidr” joke he made. Also saying “it’s impossible for me to get hacked” is just a lie. If he spent time to figure out what Anubis is currently doing with the dye he would’ve seen that he’s been informed how to avoid getting hacked and how to keep himself safe and wouldn’t even have had a reason to say anything.

I totally agree, the vast majority of Skyblock content is pretty boring/cookiecutter. There are plenty of instances of RU-vidrs acting badly aswell, but I do think that this video is just a tad overblown. I don't think RU-vidrs are the main people we should be pointing fingers at, I think that the Skyblock community itself is just generally toxic (Not every one ofcourse). Although RU-vidrs setting a good example is important, I think the root of this toxicity is not from RU-vidrs. Rather, issues like cheating hacking and ratting are much more detrimental to the game, which are much harder to solve. Calling people out and making more drama may not be the best solution to this.

I agree, I don’t think skyblock RU-vidrs suddenly become bad when they get a rank or anything, the skyblock community fosters the RU-vidrs and the RU-vidrs take on the traits of the community, which usually aren’t great. I feel like it’s weirdly common for sb RU-vidrs to be caught cheating or duping or something else crazy, but because they always just get slaps on the wrist nothing changes. And yeah the video is over the top because it’s goofier that way. I tried to sprinkle in humor to make it clear that I don’t actually despise everyone I mentioned, hopefully that lands.

davinci resolve 18 is the editing software, video took like 2 days to edit but getting broll took a week because I hate getting broll getting footage takes longer than editing most of the time for me just because I hate doing it lol

Yes, just think multiple times. It has technically the rarest drop rate at 1/1b, but that’s only for small sludges. Large sludges (the ones you kill more often) have a drop rate of just 1/20m, 5x more common than Celeste and cyclamen.

I think you need to do more research about the RU-vidr stuff. Sure, some RU-vidrs are egotistic and only care about themselves, but not all of them are. Also, you completely stretched what squid kid was saying about the dye. He seemed serious, but if he was being sarcastic about the “but I’m a RU-vidr” part then he was probably being entirely sarcastic about it all. Edit: I do agree with you on most things in this video, and also good video.

I really don’t know what to think about the squid clip now, most people I showed it to said they agreed with me, but the comments of this video are split pretty even into “I agree with you,” “he was being sarcastic the whole clip,” and “it was just a joke.” Clip be more open to interpretation than modern art pieces.

I can’t be asked to spend a bunch of time researching this so take what I’m about to say with the grain of salt, but I was scrolling through the spreadsheet about swavy and it seems that “layer two” and “layer four” are just shots at his opinions. I’m not saying I agree with his beliefs, but just because someone has a differing opinion doesn’t mean they’re a bad person. Things like Swavys mods posting NSFW and then deleting it quickly after, is something that anyone over the age of 14 has most likely done with their friends and is basically a useless point. Overall, it just seems like an extreme overreaction on those points and specific. (I didn’t really look into the other points about what he did in game). Especially considering “memes” from his finance channel are used as proof that hes a deranged conspiracy nut 😂

Also from the video clip that was shown of squid kid, for one you can tell that he has a sarcastic tone about some of the things that he was saying. But regardless, I wouldn’t say he an insane ego for what he said, he has been in the skyblock community for long enough and he knows there are people out there with malicious intent who are going to try to steal the account. You showed the clip to try to be some jaw dropping moment, But it was literally just him suggesting an idea…

@@OndraeTheGreat Squid just suggested an idea he had, He knew that people would try to hack the account, so knowing that his account is more safe, he tried to see if anubis would be interested. In no way is that egotistical or stupid, In fact, in the video you criticize YouTuers, but a RU-vidr going out of their way to try and protect someone from losing an item that they are clearly super proud of getting, using the privilege of having 2FA in order to try and help another player doesn’t seem like a bad thing. And yes, he could’ve read the forum and seen that people already told him how to not get ratted, but it is still not a bad idea and definitely not something that he should be shamed for in a RU-vid video.

The dunking on youtubers was pretty dumb im ngl. Hated on Nitroze because u think his content is lazy (dont know why that matters if people watch and like him sounds like jealousy), and the squid thing is technically true in the sense that a youtuber does have a higher chance of talking to the guy than some random non. He also coulda been joking or genuinely wanted to vault that guys dye with his extra security as a youtuber so he doesn’t get hacked by malicious players. Great editing but while the squid kid one could be a misunderstanding, the Nitroze criticism seemed so petty and unnecessary it rubbed me the wrong way and just looks so bad on you truthfully.

I was definitely a bit too harsh in this video, for one I didn't find out everything about swavy until AFTER recording the voice over, and it seems I might have just misjudged squid kid entirely, so if I recorded the voice over with all this in mind I probably wouldn't have sounded as harsh.

I might be biased but honestly a lot of your points about yters seem kinda lame. Sure Nitroze made a nothing-burger video which you say is just clout-farming off of the dye. He makes a video about literally anything that is interesting/new in the game, if it was something else maybe I would understand but this is a pretty big achievement and saying someone is clout-farming off of making a video that people would probably want to know about is kinda wild. Especially since this is basically the exact same but in a higher quality and different format.

If my content is subpar I'd hate to see how you describe other skyblock videos. And I don't see how I'm virtue signaling or clout chasing, I'm just calling out behavior I, and other people I've talked to, find scummy. I deliberately asked Anubis before making this video if he'd be okay with it as well, and he said it would be fine. I will admit the video is a bit childish as I didn't consider how my words would sound to the average viewer with very little background info on the subjects I'm talking about.
