I was at this video shoot in NYC. My father was friends with one of the horn players. R.I.P. Kevin Falvey. Met Joe before the video, signed a promo picture for me. Was the nicest guy. A very sweet human being. And one of the coolest days of my life without a doubt. R.I.P. Joe Cocker

I also remember something else about the movie. They had to edit the heck out of it because it was released I believe like 1986. It didn't do very well in the US but the unedited version did amazingly well overseas. So if you can find the unedited version. I've never seen the movie. I think I was about 17 when it came out. I just know a lot of pop culture stuff.

Sorry to hear she left you. I'm 42, I don't understand her leaving because you are putting in so much energy here. RU-vid is like a job right? Would she have left you for putting in overtime at a job or working hard trying to start up your own business? So many people have no work ethic. This is a cover of a song by Randy Newman. Newman also wrote "Short People" and the whole score for the short film "Me and my Arrow". Joe just puts a lot of feeling in it and the background music is epic.

I got into Joe Cocker very late in his life when BBC Radio 2 played Fire It Up one of the very last songs he ever released before he passed away. Also Tom Jones does an extremely good cover of this song. ❤️

There’s a reason this song is one of the most played songs on strip clubs. It’s a helluva lot of fun to dance to. Just makes you feel sexy. Other favourite pole dancing song is Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin- though with the tempo of that one, it’s not a beginner song. And it’s not as overplayed as Leave your hat on.
