Amazing that hospital let the dog stay the whole time. Don’t think many would allow that, but it’s wonderful for ailing patients to have something that comforting.

@@RoughRaiders13 He isn't certified so to the hospital he is a normal dog. They probably had to fill out some paperwork, and prove that he would not be an issue.

I agree. I spent eight months in the hospital and if I had a dog with me it would have made the stay that much more bearable.

I think it's not hygienic when dogs are allowed to come in hospitals or any other animal for that matter.

They are. Better than 3/4 of the PhDs out there. They nail the art of being present which is a difficult thing for people to understand, much less do.

I have severe Crohn’s disease, there were times I did not go to the emergency room, because I actually got more comfort from my dog then from all the drugs. RIP Jingles❤️

Man, there is nothing better than seeing a person include an animal in their life and treat them like family. This made my day. Dad looks like he is physically doing so well at this time also. Wishing this family many years of better health and wonderful times together. Good boy, Magnus. 💞

I had a certified service dog. I wound up in ICU ...Plus in a medically induced coma. I always wondered if I would have done better if my puppers was with me, if I would have spent less time in hospjtal and healed better with her with me. Personally...I believe I would have but some things were out of my control. Thankfully I had family that cared for her while I couldn't... while things were out of my control. Sadly, after 12+ faithful years, she crossed the rainbow bridge. I still miss her every single day... she was my heart.

Service animals are permitted to stay with the person at any medical facility. Seems like Magnus serves as a service animal as well as a family member.

Hospitals should have dogs on their staff to comfort patients. With a couple of designated dog-free rooms for people with allergies. I bet the survival rate would shoot upward.

There is horse who is a service animal who goes to hospices, they are a god send. My cat saved my husband's life when his disease was intolerable he gave him peace and he is here today because of him.

I love my 6 dogs and 2 cats more than my blood relatives. I worry about them if i pass away, because were i live, they can not name them my heirs. They should be my heirs, they are my babies. They never mistreated me.

I loved this!!!! I got my first dog 9 years ago. I prayed God would send me the biggest gentle giant doberman ever. I got what I prayed for. Reagan is 9. She's 100 pounds and really tall. She loves children and anyone with a medical condition. God did an amazing job creating the dog.

Such a great idea! As welcome as visitors are when you are stuck in a hospital, I know I feel compelled to continually talk with or "entertain" them, at a time when I really don't feel up to it. But having your dog or cat there would be the most COMFORTING. And they, likewise, enjoy the companionship.

@@serpil_ozler not necessarily. Some hospitals allow esa and therapy animals to stay even though they are not service animals. Some won't allow them unless they are providing a physical service. It's all up to the hospital

I am in end stage renal failure and will start almost-daily dialysis while I await transplant. I would love to bring my beloved cat with me but the hospital says no. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, also, and my cat is intrinsic to me surviving each day. Instead he will be the goal of getting through each treatment so I can come home to him.

I’m going through a lot of cardiac and neurological issues right now related to a recent stroke and my cat, who is literally a dog trapped in a cat’s body, is just like this. She never leaves my side, always cuddles and purrs and comforts me. It makes such a huge difference.

Beautiful family, made better with their incredible pooch. My daughter used to visit nursing homes with her lab/bassett, after going through some training. Her dog knew she was there to lift their spirits.

This made me cry so much. Reminds me of my dog tessie. She passed last year of bone cancer. Magnus reminds me of her. I'm glad someone has a dog like that. No a friend like that ❤
