@tuckerfupper I hope you rethink and decide to put a roof on again.The main problem with what you did before was using particle board. It should never be used where there is potential for exposure to moisture/water. And you were correct about the pitch of the roof as well. You should try again with a better pitch and use plywood that is stained for waterproofing. Once that is up you should put polyethelene Moisture Barrier over it. Along all the edges caulk it then put metal flashing up. If you don't want to use the tin again do a real shingled roof with gutters. That is the only way it is going to last for years to come. I think leaving it open causes to much causes to much disription of use due to weather. Not trying to tell you what to do or anything... I'd just love to see you guys bet the best possible use out of it.

Good idea ..You could use a shade cloth if its needed . I have portable ones for my outside catio using S hooks to be able to adjust as needed. I love you guys and how you love the kittys . This does my heart so good to see this today . We lost a year long battle to save our Tiger who came to us with multiple issues. After 3 different vets and 17 visits in 11 months he was finally diagnosed with FIP . Until June 1st the medicine wasn't fda approved but we in stelth mode done what we had to to, but it was too late for our baby. Everyone who are cat lovers should educate yourself about FIP . It's beautiful. The only concern now, is mosquitoes and rain.I would add a new cat tree. It will save the pillows/ back of the couch grom being mishaped, tons of hair and nail scratching damage.
You can order shade cloth to put on top for summer that’s what I did for my Gazebo. The rain will go through but blocks out the sun. I got 80% to 90% sun… and my has grommets to to on for tie down.and take down for winter.

I LOVE this make over Tucker! I can see how the babies love it as well! My only concern would be your cushions when it rains and you’re not home. Other than that, I see nothing wrong. I’d be like MJ , getting a really nice nap on the Catio! The furniture is awesome too and who knew it would go well with the newly painted deck! Great job.💕
