I go using low level characters to avoid that feeling, I mean, you have a limit on grow your character based on the AR so,, yeah, you gonna do "little" damage, but on your world that is a good damage. If I use my main char for any reason I try to use a normal weapon to fit more. Unless we need kill something strong, there I go on serious mode ÒuÓ)

sadly all my characters are 80+ now, so i couldn't do that D: (only thing i could do is removing the artifacts and switching weapon hahahah)

Totally agree, whenever I join a lower AR coop buddy I always ask if they are okay with my mains or if I should bring lower lv characters. One shoting enemies, especially in someone else's world takes all the fun of fighting away in most cases.

I agree with this completely. I refuse to co-op with friends now and decided to get to WL 8 solo because of that reason. I wanted to have fun and enjoy the game and learn the game myself. I don't mind of course if people sincerely gave me tips to help me out with the gameplay, but the vibes and useless information (mostly flex/belittling with no constructive help) I am getting from them isn't something I enjoy. I joined just around a month ago, (I made my account back when Childe was first released to get Zhongli, lucky me. I quit after I got Zhongli without playing the game haha because Zhongli was too handsome. I deleted GI for many months and only came back at AR20 at the end of Eula banner) Back when I joined, I was late to the game anyway, most of my friends played right from the start, so at that point they were keeping up to GI at around AR 45++ while I who only got to AR20 because they told me to finish some event that was happening (I think I finished it but I didn't grab the rewards and deleted the game eventually ww) At that time I luckily got Childe (beginner's luck I guess) and my friends started asking me to co-op. I was farming for stuff at that point and exploring, trying to figure out how to use the combat system and getting used to things in general, which I enjoy doing so on my own. I thought there's no reason to reject them, since I told them, I was just exploring on my own, they said it'd be fun to co-op and explore together so I said ok, I accepted them in as my first co-op. When they entered I was picking Violetgrass and they followed me around. I wanted to try practicing my battling but ANY monster I run into (I am at WL 1 and they are generally at 5 or 6 at that time) they just run ahead to kill them all and I couldn't do anything. It happened a few times and I was like "Guys, can you let me kill, because I am not familiar with the controls yet, I want to try getting used to fighting by practicing?" And my friends were like oh ok, sorry. And they did stop for awhile, but then one of them suggested: "Hey, since you want to practice, let's go fight a boss." And I was like: Oh... okay sure! (At that point my only 5* was Childe, and I had 3 friends who joined me) "Which boss should we go to? I only explored some parts of Mondstadt so I found the ice flower. And the electro hypostasis..." "There's this very good one, you'll need for Childe, the Oceanid" That time I haven't explored that far yet so I had to follow them all the way and unlock many teleportation points without exploring around me to get to the exact place where the Oceanid was (which I honestly didn't like, since I like to explore around to unlock...) So I got to the Oceanid and I was like: "Can someone explain to me about this boss?" They just said "Wow this one is so hard. But don't worry, just hit, bring your best character" And I was like my best character? I can only select one so I took Childe since he was my best/most well-equipped then. I entered Oceanid, only to realise Hydro doesn't work, meanwhile my other friends brought Venti, Diluc, Keqing and I was practically useless. They downed it so fast I didn't even know what the mechanic was. I only knew the Oceanid was talking and I hit 'immune' on my burst/E and charged attacks. And I was like: Wait, Hydro doesn't affect Hydro? Why didn't anyone tell me? I would have brought Kaeya?" And they were like: Oh hahaha it's ok we kill it for you. If there's anything else you want us to kill just ask us, we kill it for you, I have Venti/Qiqi. You don't have to do anything. I am left being like very handfed and benefited nothing from it at all. They didn't explain the boss mechanics to me, they didn't explain to me that I shouldn't have brought Hydro when they clearly saw I picked Childe. And they kept wanting to kill my giant Whopperflower and they kept ksing me until I told them to stop. What I am feeling is that they're trying to flex and show that they are stronger than me (which is a given since they had been playing the game, while I did not?) I mean it's fine if they could give me tips or explain some things about the game so I could learn about it, but I got nothing out of the co-op experience except annoyance and feeling left-out/useless. Then after they left I decided to never co-op again. I came back to the game and Immediately all the AR 55 and 56 friends were sooooo excited to see someone who just started, at AR20, and they all said they can kill everything for me if I need help and I was like: No. Thank you. I am going to get to WL 8 myself. I don't want any help. It's just me, I want to enjoy the game, learn it and explore and discover things on my own effort? It really takes the fun out when your friends are there telling you NOT to play the game and just do nothing, they will do everything. What's the point in me playing the game then? When I am not actually playing? They are never impressed too, they did not know that Abyss has been updated since the very start. I heard it has become harder now To improve faster I set challenges for myself like 'Clearing Floor 7 before AR 35" "Clearing Floor 8 before AR 40" which I managed to hit so far, I reached 9-1 at AR 39, 3 weeks into re-joining the game. Some of my friends were not impressed at me hitting average 2k~3k per attack and Charged attack 7~8k at AR 35+ for Klee whom I was building (since I have her and she is cute and a very nice dps) and passed snarky remarks at me: "Hah, did you mistake it for your Elemental Burst damage? 6k not a lot lmao for Elemental Burst..." and I was like dude, I only have 3 star/some 4 star artifacts at that point, and I managed to get some good rolls on them which made it possible... people are never happy with my progress aren't they. During my private stream for friends (just to do story quests and commentate on the story, since I love lore of games) some of them were like: You should do this do that, why is your damage only 1+K? I can hit like 3-4k, You need help with bosses I am AR 55 btw I can kill them for you. I have 300 dandelion seeds btw lmao" (When I said in stream that I needed dandelion seeds) And I got so fed up since I was just killing some hilichurls that got in my way of walking to some other quest point, I was like "I AM AR 30 SHUT UP Stop comparing my AR 30 damage which I've only been playing for 1 week with your months of grinding 5* artifacts and AR 55 3k- 4k damage, I am already trying to play this game. And you tell me you have 300 dandelion seeds but you can't even give them to me because we can't drop items!! You're just flexing what's the point" I just want to play the game. God, can people stop belittling and flexing at a new player just because they had so much more time to grind for good artifacts and roll for characters. Everyone can get to AR 55 one day and clear most of the content just by enjoying and playing the game properly. It's just a matter of time and dedication. Like I don't judge someone who don't really have time to play the game to only have a certain number of characters or artifacts or hitting a lower damage than average. They did their best. I have 2 friends who were totally nice and sincere about helping, I asked them to try the ice whopperflower back at AR 15 or 18, since I only have Amber and she can't cut it. They were ok with it and explained to me that without Pyro it can be tough, and said we should try it together, which we did. They didn't like have an attitude to flex, and was trying to explain to me about Genshin and answering my questions nicely. However most of my friends have this flexing vibe to them so I really can't deal with it anymore. I just want to progress on my own and be proud of my achievement without needing to put anyone else down or taking the gaming experience away from them? Or belittling their achievements? The flexers made me quit co-op as early as WL 1 and 2. I am feeling quite peaceful now, and learning a lot on my own and is much more familiar about combat and my team through clearing challenges on my own. At least that's what I like when I truly want to enjoy playing a game. I am sure there are people out there who just want items and they don't mind if people help them, and they benefit off people helping to down things for them, to me that's just not fun at all. They do them though. I will just stick to what I like and people should respect that. (I still get people flexing at me "Well, if you can clear 12-3 36 stars then I think you're ok. it's ez"

yup! if i join a lower lvl ar players world, and they need help with a boss, i will bring someone who is half built, or more of a support! that way its not just instant kill haha

Totally agree. I had a friend who one-shot everything when I was just starting out and had just unlocked co-op, and while I wasn't discouraged, it did take away some of the fun from combat. Regardless of whether I'm playing with friends or strangers, I usually just help them with whatever they want help with, including exploration and world quests. Recently I carried someone not in combat but in the Kaboomball event lmao.
