Rare is not a vary intelligent company most of the time but most companies will in fact ban you if you are found using an alt while under a temporary ban because it's ban evasion. Temp or not that's seen as a serious offense. I could feel sorry for the guy for effectively lose there account over 1 word but all sympathy goes out the window the moment you pull up a cheat engine and make it your task to make as many peoples lives miserable. Rare has ironically banned someone that deserves it. If 8k hours was indeed what was lost I can't help but smile. Clearly you're not a good person if cheating is the action you take

If game makers would just stop banning people for saying meany words and instead expect people to take it on the chin in a game where you can lose hours of progress as just part of the game which you're expected to just take it on the chin there'd probably be less cheaters in the first place too.
I ran into this guy today. I was doing hourglass when I saw the other boat shooting blunders in the air, and I thought, “Huh, is it the hacker?” (My friend ran into him yesterday.) And yup, it was. They sunk, and we dived. We said, “Haha, you don’t get to sink us!” He said, “I’m coming for you,” and I haven't seen him since this morning.
As an outsider looking in to this community, seeing the players who've gotten banned or disciplined for their behavior. They are some of the most obnoxious players out there who for whatever reason don't have the self-awareness to understand why. They don't get that nobody in this game gets banned for cheating, they get banned for annoying other players. They go on the forums crying about it instead of reflecting and saying "Hey maybe I was acting like a tool, I should tone it back a bit"
I played against that EXACT same person 2 days ago in hourglass, miserable experience for no reason. If he only got yellow bearded then this will only get him red bearded. Doing shit like this doesn't change a thing but make your situation worse and ruin it for other players.
I think i ran into this dude out in the wild when me and two friends manage to stole a Burning Blade after another brig did like 90% of the work before we got there the guy was foaming at the mouth that we didnt try to kill him "ha ha big boat cant sink a sloop you are trash" when all we wanted to do was rack up rituals to get some quick gold, the guy acted like an annoying mosquito, naturally when we saw him at port, we decided to give him a warm hug
Another creature in his natural habitat 💀 these types of cheaters are just weird. I was on a brig a few days ago and we had some guys acting the same way, it’s like you said they could at least try to be funny with their cheats and not completely ruin the game.

They have entire discords about cheats and think of themselves as virtual gangsters or hackers (Even though they don't make the cheats, they buy them and use them, that's how pathetic it sounds). That's how it is in TF2 and I'm 100% sure it's also like that in SOT or any other online game. These people are really the result of not touching grass in your entire life.

I was in a server with rare is kancer when I was playing once, they sunk someone with a grade 5 reaper flag and a ton of loot, Me and my friend decided to give him his loot back and he sold with an alliance with us
hey i met this guy and had a nice conversation with him.. tried to give him some therapy. i instantly redove 3 times and tried to be his friend. he got sooo mad that i was wasting his time and trying to chat with him that he logged off.
Rare doesn't care about cheaters, they added EAC to deal with it because they do not want their employees prioritize that resources but if EAC didn't detect this, they do not care at all. They only care about profit.

I fought this guy like 3 days ago, actually such an annoying player. His duo whenever I played him like 3 times was actually terrible at the game, I can't imagine being that scummy to get boosted by a cheater.
The issue with people like this is that not only are they ruining it for the people when they're trying to spread a message to rare, but the way of doing it is just counter-intuitive. Whilst actively destroying it for players might be a way to grab rares attention, they are hurting the people, the same people which of they claim to be doing this for, when spamming messages like this. A person which does this, this way is clearly someone who should be banned, he doesn't care about "freeing" these people It just seems like an excuse for him to attempt to justify cheating. To clarify I only recognise the logicore name from all the drama documentaries that have been uploaded in resent times. I do believe that wrongful bans exist, and rare with their stubborn ways are not a good company to get banned by when you want to be unbanned. But these people make it even worse. They are an extremity and since they're so loud with their opinion and actions, it in many cases ends up being these guys who are associated with this issue. And besides, this guy is a complete arsehole for his behaviour, both in-game and voice chat. What a hypocrite :/
Met the same guy We were on streak 13 on gally and he was solo spawncamping us for like 1 hour i did write ticket to rare instantly to check the live server because i cant send vod right now and they said there is no enough proof. Even tho they have ability to see live server they refused to do it after we lost i did report him and he got redbeard like is it really hard to do autodetect on staff like this or check the server if bro is spawncamping us xD
First of i want to make clear that i think cheating in any way is just cringe and there is nothing else to it (same goes for this guy) But what he is pointing out is somewhat right and is a known issue withing the sea of thieves community. Rare has banned multiple accounts of people who did nothing back in the arena days because sea of thieves partners thought they were streamsniping them or some people were impersonating other people by replacing an i with an l which looks the same in the fond used for sot unsernames in game. The 0 tolerance rules for a redbeard haven't helped with that at all. What i mean by that is that people who maybe used fov hacks or exploits which have been a grey are in the past(which i think is completly fine cuz u dont really get an advantage) have gotten a perma ban with no warning at all, so they made a new account and still got banned so some of them just started cheating in way that is way worse (aimbot, esp you name it). Rare refusing to tell us exact rules sometimes because "then people would try to work around them" which causes some people to get "randomly banned". What I'm trying to say is he is right Rare has the wrong idea when it comes to handling those bans in the past mainly because rare refuses to go back on a decision even when they themselves know it was bad one.

The only way I play this game is on safer seas. Call it a sailing sim all you want but I'd rather just stick to skelly ship battles and events to just chill. Fishing on the open sea is one of my favorite things to do and if that means a 70% reduction on sales so be it

That and the jumping around like a bunch of autistic kangaroos just makes me laugh at how shit the pvp actually is. Hell pve isn't even enjoyable unless your fighting ships. The only real challenge is getting hunted down by the same Brigantine that has zero loot is extremely fun seeing is how you just farmed and have everything to lose but the Brigantine doesn't have anything to loose. The toxic behavior everyone is mostly talking about is being called shit when its a 1v3 and their just waiting for you to spawn on your ship. I'm pretty good at the ship pvp but I just carry 2 guns and watch the ladders like a fucking hawk on high seas. I can also see why almost no one really touches or talks about SoT anymore. It's boring and lost the charms years ago. But hey you guys keep the baby seal clubbing going and hopefully it's just the pvper's left just fighting 24/7 for no gains other than to pvp. Hell you cant even fish in piece most of the time without either a 2-4 man rolling up and start lobbing canon balls at a docked ship at outpost. Honestly I'm just gonna stack a 4 man and just hunt down other players for their loot since it's way easier to just take it from a numerically smaller team and ship. YOOOO it's just like real life except the pirates are just the IRS and the other employees are the brain dead crew you usually get paired up with through random match making. The connections are strong
me and my friend ran into the same guy that ruined our 30 streak but i have confirmation the account has been banned and his alt ALSO his own fault he got his original accounts banned.
The guy is really true here, the game is insanely bad. The devs cant make a good update which makes the game consistent. They also made an anticheat which you can bypass with a 7kb executable. You get banned for nothing.

That guy has legit reason to be pissed about his initial ban, and a single instance of ban evasion being a permaban for his main is extreme and he has every right to be pissed about that, but it does suck that he's doing this to people. I hate rare too, Ididn't deserve to be banned and I got banned anyway. I was new and just did a flameheart fleet, a crew came over with an alliance flag and added me to the alliance, then just killed me and started talking the most vile trashtalk ever. I decided to jab back, they got offended, and started spawncamping me and intentionally fixed my ship to sink as slowly as possible and kept insulting and trashtalking me as they spawncamped me. I got banned for 2 fucking weeks for talking shit back at them. Fuck rare.
Today we run into burning blade with lvl 145. I said to my crew it will be cheaters, no one believed me and guess what. We come closer and we all dead{3 people brig crew) in like 3 seconds. It was invisible cheater. Also they appear before HG battle starts and kill everyone. This game is great, but rare is really bad company, they really sucks.
