THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED | CHICAGO TRIP & FITTINGS. Here's a vlog about the past few days. I've been traveling a lot the past few months and I need to spend some time chilling back at home and resume home decor like I've wanted to. I went to Chicago to talk about how to build confidence and how to have confidence through your style. Clothes are not 'just clothes.' Don't let anyone make you feel like what you love and enjoy is stupid or silly. I also highlight the ridiculousness of name calling anyone's make up free face ONLY because I know others will read that comment and possibly feel bad about themselves too and fear ridicule.

I agree with you Karen! But, that commenter you spoke of, is most likely sad within and jealous. Karen, I am almost 70 years old and spent way too much of my young, beautiful life paying attention to jealous people's taunts. You are one of the most beautiful (natural or with make up) women on this earth. I wish I had had your confidence and understanding of life when I was young! This was a wonderful video. I wish I didn't allow people into my spirit with their poison. I'm 59 and still battling demons because of narcissists. Dear Karen. Thank you. My 82 years young stepmom has had to slow down and I know it’s very frustrating for her. And like you said, her feelings have been reflected in how she presents herself. It seems to have caused her to not want to enjoy her things. She is the embodiment of LOVE to me. So I treated her to a tiny comfy capsule wardrobe from some of the new H&M line. Silky animal print lounge pants, a soft chocolate brown hoodie, furry scuffs, a cargo white shirt. Her reaction was the Girly we all are. Smiles, squeals, laughing and twirling in our new things. I told her to wear these clothes every day in some form or fashion. Dig out her other stuff and wear it too. Truly these little things go a long way to help heal the mind,body,even as our soul prospers. Thank you Karen❤

May I point out, without disagreeing, that if people are not into her, they also have the choice to move on and not watch or comment? When I retired I stopped wearing makeup most days. Now, I am a skincare fanatic and I'm happy with my 62 year old skin. I do my daytime skincare routine and sunscreen and that's it. I do love wearing makeup but as I've gotten older I just started wearing less and less. My style is now more casual/athleisure. My goal is to look put together but natural. I don't care what anyone thinks about how I dress or look. I dress for myself. I love changing my look too. I have always been the single, bougie auntie. Karen, you are gorgeous, with or without makeup. Your style is always phenomenal and on point. People who are insecure and lack confidence are the ones who hate on the rest of us. I am 61 and love to dress well. It makes me feel confident and happy. It doesn’t matter your budget. I use to work in a casual office setting and everyone was amazed how well I dressed. Same here. I’ll be turning 51 in december and I barely do a full face beat. Bronzing drops, little blush and mascara… chef’s kiss! Only when I have an event, I put more effort in my makeup look. Otherwise, I cannot be bothered. Also, my skin has been much healthier.❤

Karen, thank you SO SO much for pointing out how a simple negative thing produces negative ripples. It’s the same way that a pinch of poison can kill. I think makeup is to enhance the good bits and downplay the ones you don’t like as much. I have this happen but in the reverse. I don't often wear more than a tinted moisturiser and mascara, so when I wear more makeup, people go 'oh my god you look wonderful', or 'you should wear makeup more often' etc., etc. It should make me feel like my natural self isn't good enough, but it doesn't. At 62 I know exactly how to put myself together and look amazing, but my everyday just isn't like that. It's about balance and confidence, so I feel sorry for those that take all the comments to heart. People who say I look lovely when I put in the effort, are the ones I gravitate towards. They are acknowledging my effort but not highlighting it to where I feel bad not doing it. People should think before they open their mouths!! You are fabulous with or without makeup.

As a woman in my mid forties who suffers from rosacea which is really bad at times I would love to go out without makeup but I have gotten really negative comments about my face being so red and what is wrong with it it has made me really ashamed of embracing the way I look naturally. All I know is that the day before my fibroid surgery, I rewatched your video when you told us you had been away for the same surgery and it made me feel less frightened of the procedure. I get feedback all the time from friends and family that I’m too into makeup, fashion etc, as if it’s superficial or facile but they are missing the point which is that taking time to express myself through my style etc is about my mindset, mood, it’s an act of self care to spend time getting ready and curating my closet and beauty kit. I love myself enough to make the effort and when people say to me ‘oh I don’t have time’ they mean to dig me out but actually it’s sad they can’t prioritise feeling good and prefer to be a martyr

I agree wirh the comment that a few channels I watch this week have mentioned nasty comments towards them. And I cannot help but wonder if they would say it to you in person? Why do they think they can make mean comments hiding behind their phones? Im almost 70 as well, and my mother and father taught us if you can't say anything nice, dont say anything at all. Arent mothers still teaching this? The femark sbout how a persin looks without make is just uncalled for. I totally respected Pamela when she attended fashion week without makeup last year. The best antidote -> provoke them by NOT changing, train yourself to be ok with whatever comes along when you are the way you are. Even post some stuff that you feel KINDA uncomfortable and act against it, see how you react , question it, laugh at yourself… then go to Michael without saying anything and see his eyes are telling you the only truth that matters. Change the way this stuff makes you feel by running towards it.

Hi there, the vlog title grabbed me coz I was sad to read it. I think you’re beautiful without makeup and there was nothing wrong showing yourself getting braids. I personally enjoyed watching how it’s done . Love this channel 😘 ❤❤❤ Yes, it's tricky about that make up comment. As I get older, I try to put on a little something just for my own comfort. I do not look at ppl and say my goodness they need make up. I'm just not that person. However, you make a valid point that those comments can hit the wrong person at the wrong time! That one negative comment can unnecessarily hurt. Sometimes, I wish comments could be better controlled. I will admit there are times a comment could persuade me to not even start or even finish a video.
