A greyhound! Nineteen is a very long life span. I’ve had three magnificent ex racing Greyhounds and they are the best. They have also gone over the rainbow bridge. They are so wonderful. 😢

I wonder, if one of his sons, or nephews suffered for a terminal illness, he'd provide the same treatment... Humane treatment... I am convinced, that this was done from humane heart. Humanity... Ain't this a bitch?!!

How cruel-hearted of him to force Walnut out of the he house just because he was suffering from loneliness and depression! What a horrible owner he is!!! Dogs suffer depression and loneliness sometimes! But forcing Walnut out just because of that?! He doesn’t deserve to have a pet for that!

I remember the occasion as I live in Cornwall. Walnut was *not* distressed and it was a sad but wonderful occasion and the best way to share a last precious moment before Walnut had to leave this life. Walnut and his owner had been companions for 18 years and the beach walk was something they always shared. I don't know where you get the idea it was cruel, and for me your comment is cruel. You have *no* idea about their relationship nor about dogs it seems. Dogs are wonderfully empathic and make great companions. Whippets are animals that need regular exercise (as do all dogs) and they shared nearly 2 decades together. Perhaps you should research about service dogs and how they make loving companions to those in distress, and how their owners love and care for them in return. Maybe if you do that, you'll have a better appreciation about Walnut's last journey on the beach with his dad, before he left this earth. It was a loving gesture that you are clearly incapable of understanding.
