Getting ganked by 4 hitokuties in breach or dominion is quite possibly the funniest experiences you can have in for honor, especially since I'm a filthy nobu main with exactly 0 counterplay. You'll reach peak blood pressure as each time you get atomized by 4 axes and then when they synchronize their "Thanks!" in chat, you finally understand that it is in fact organized gang violence, and you owe all 4 of them money. And while 5 minions are stabbing her and yet she's fully focused on your execution, you'll understand it's 100% personal and racially motivated. For a second you'll feel like a god when you parry all 4 of them in a single movement, getting revenge instantly, only to realise revenge doesn't mean jacksh*t as they continue to spam right click because doubling your health just means they get more dopamine seeing your revenge health be insignificant to the power of 4 hitokuties. When you've respawned for the 12th time that game, they activate the funny t4 feat button that instant kills you because you were too deep in clinical shock to parry that weirdly timed animation where she does a backflip knowing that 30 minutes of parrying their normal attacks has completely destroyed your ability to react and that axe comes down on your skull for a funny 200 damage. I sleep peacefully knowing that these players dominated me by showcasing their affinity and familiarity with the right mouse button, and I can appreciate the reads and thought they made to dominate me in such a way. I truly believe that her neutral hyper armor is balanced, since getting interrupted during your heavies are for casuals and the intellectually inferior. For Honor is a great mental asylum, 9/10 come again
JUST INCASE anyone TLDR ..For Honor will make you lose your 🧠 while facing brain rot characters that take absolutely no effort but you can rest easy knowing you’d destroy them if they had to use a complex kit character.

She isn't next to nobody actually utilities her full kit and since 80% of this playerbase can't block or parry theres really no need to do more than keep throwing heavies apparently

I feel liike the argument of Hito being basically OP for people who dont have time to learn the game is valid. Most hitos dont feel hard to fight, but you can tell its not because of the character, its because of the player. But what truly hurts is when you find an actual tryhard with Hito, then youre just fucked.
That’s not even an issue in my mind, just how it’s not possible to shut down or counter endless myriad unless you have a dodgy bash or parry one of the heavies, both of which are extremely risky (since a partially charged heavy being let go during a dodge bash will catch and interrupt it, and the heavies themselves are difficult to parry even if they aren’t using feint to gb as an additional option). Even If you do manage to counter, you’re only rewarded with a light (exception being deflects). Should absolutely be able to successfully dodge a light/heavy, then be able to gb them out of a charged heavy/bash attempt if they make a bad read, while letting their counter play be to simply throw an uncharged heavy if they want to beat a gb.
I play the crap out of Hitokiri, and Warden, and Valkyrie, and Orochi, and Kensei, and Gladiator, and Centurion, and lawbringer, and nobushi. Most Hitokiri players are branching out but I agree that people who play her and barley anybody else are brain dead morons

Tbf, they did change the speed of her chain heavies and gave her nuetral hyper armor back which was OP when she launched. Those chain heavies track dodges when previously they didnt. Heavy on red was created by her.
Random idea, it might suck im just putting it out there. How about, when a variable time heavy gets parried, not including when its not charged at all, it makes you lose a ton of stamina. I feel like if you manage to parry one of those it should be more rewarding than the smallest punish in the game. You basically have to either read or parry on flash wich is about as impressive as a light parry if not more so.
Totally true, this character does not require any brain cells to play. It does incentivise one to actually think and mix up their attacks cause of the extreme simplicity of use and the high damage potential gained from just swinging. Getting tanked by Hito's in a 4V4 is a pain. This character did not need a buff but the great minds at UBI again have shown us that they don't play this game enough to understand balancing correctly. One of the most tasteless characters in the roster. Conceptually cool but everything else is SHITEEE
Even tho I have hito as my highest rep, she does not need neutral HA, she should lose most the HA (keeping it after the heavy is charged like most heavy charged attacks) and some slight buff to her other moves to keep her from being god awful and prevent another lawbringer incident
Seems like a really simple (not ideal) fix for how overwhelming and simple minded hito gameplay is would be extending the gb vulnerability present on neutral heavy chargeup to all of hito’scharged heavies, then speeding up the fully charged release by 100-200 ms. Same for charging bash. Should be able to dodge a heavy, then gb them out of a charged mixup attempt. Wouldn’t work while in heavy hitstun because your dodge would complete too late into the charge of their followup. Also they need to make sweep confirm a fully charged heavy, or at least make whatever followup is confirmed execute. Also revert the light frame advantage change, and allow chaining to kick/sweep after light finishers so that it’s not a completely pointless kick followup.
I think that her chain level 1 and 2 heavy should have their dmg reduced and level 3 increased. This would create more mind games (get hit by low dmg heavy or suffer high damage UB) maybe this would make this more bearable
hitokiri heavies should be light parries honestly, that way she can keep her strength but its less braindead (think about how heavy that weapon is). also the quick chain bash should reset her to neutral and guarantee a light rather than a heavy (keep chain pressure but lessen the damage).
whenever I see another hitokiri it’s a damn boss fight and I love it. I love going axe for axe. if I’m a weak character it is so annoying. the reason I got her was because of other brain dead people.
the way i want hito to be changed is removing first heavy hyper armor, giving her anything from neutral to actually pressure with, dash forward gb still works with her sometimes lol but i want something real, last change is making the chain stop at 2 heavies which u can reset with a bash or maybe a zone
Do you think that something which could help, would be to not allow Hito to mix-up after the guarantied heavy from her bash ? I mean that after the kick/charged kick, she receive a special heavy animation (a bit like the centurion has the jumping on a laying enemy) and she need to start a new combo with a light/heavy again. And can't heavy or light -> bash -> heavy -> bash -> etc anymore. But will need to heavy or light -> bash -> heavy -> heavy or light -> bash etc ?
The point on hyper armor is fair but if they remove that then hito needs another tool in her kit like a new light dodge attack or a new parry punish maybe even tweak her zone attack so it has a more important part to play in combat to incentivise aggressive gameplay without the hyper armor safety net
I feel that just out of principle alone Hito needs a full rework. Its stupid that Ubisoft looks at a character with a moveset that boils down to "press the same button 8 or 10 times" and theyre fine with it. Characters can be simple, in fact they seem to only release simple characters nowadays, but theres a fine line between "simple" and "obligatory nothing-burger because there was a deadline for one."
agreed, neutral hyperarmor is a little much for a hero with so much trading potential and offence already, but she has no opener at all other than the hyper armor heavy, so we would need atleast a enhanced light or neutral bash or grab to avoid hito's turning into turtles. And if were gonna do that already, might aswell implement some of the more fun changes slanderous suggested.
actually most of the characters with charge heavy attack have this hyper armor to prevent light spam. if light is as slow as year 1 then it should not be problem but with current meta, all heavies need it, to make others respect that move.
Yes Hito definitely needs a nerf man. Its way too strong in team fights with that hyperarmour heavys infinite chain into unblockable. I certainly agree with you
I understand that this hyper armor neutral is incredibly powerful, but on the other hand her kit is really limited. She has no real opener other than that move, no neutral bash or forward bash and her anti-gank is weak AF. She already has a lot of problems when the opponent's parry game is on point. I get it it's annoying to play against, but other than this feature she lacks neutral options. So idk, if she only has one viable option it kinda makes sense that it's a strong one ?
I disagree. All you gotta do is whiff to get that kick mixup going. I think her anti ganks are very strong too against most of the goof balls that eat her target swap heavies. If that’s not working she can target swap her kicks and get free heavies. The hyper armor is just too much. She’s always been good but as solid said previously, not every hero needs to be viable for every situation. That being said IMO hito isn’t as big and issue as gladiator, shaolin, shugoki, and warmonger. Did I mention gladiator? Hate that character so much
After the heavy on red nerf, I got Hitokiri up to rep 25. I only played duels during that time, so it's completely dependent on the skill level of the player. If you're good at the game, losing some armor won't make much of a difference.

She’s incredibly easy to use, variably timed heavies (hard to parry on old gen) level 1 bash that does a shit ton of damage and a ton of hyper armor for team fights. Her heavies can also catch some dodges. It’s a completely brainless character.

I recently came back to the game, slowly got back into the game. Fcaed 1 guy who spammed the same attack same location 24/7 and he killed me. couldn't counterattack, coulkdn't attack after parry cause the attack was so quick. I decided to play her to see what she was about and literally did a 1v3 the first fight I had with her lol
I heard someone talk about glads bleed, he is an amazing character, from my 4+ years of playing this, I have used everyone apart from some samurais and any of the wu lin or outlanders, but come on, there’s only one thing that ruins the game… 4 different hero’s in each team just like R6 so each character and hero can be optimised and utilised anyone else agree ?
They nerfed her because she had hyper armor on everything on release, now they've come full circle except her kick *and* sweep net a heavy. The hero is a huge noob trap, teaching players to ignore game mechanics in favor of extremely difficult to punish offensive spam, and in the case of most hitos ive come across; inflating an undeserved ego.

Tbh, her hyperarmor isn't a problem We have some characters with neutral hyperarmor heavies and that's ok The biggest problem is her bash It's varible timed, it has hyperarmor, it gives you heavy ON EVERY SINGLE WRONG READ from opponent Lvl1 - heavy, lvl3 - heavy, feint into gb - guess what, a heavy That's not okay
Agree with hyperarmour nerfs but honestly I think the overshield/hyperarmour exe/instakill feats are worse to deal with at the moment. As you rightly point out, Hito is braindead to play which ironically means hito players tend to be worse duellists in general and often fall for the most obvious bait/techs. On the occasion a competent player is playing her though... can totally ruin the fun in a game

Hl has no opener and no backstep, good players will react to all ur stuff so entering Os (in which u dont have a guard) requires much more skill and cant be compared to a 1 button hero, seriously.

If you talk about people that need to work and stuff and don’t have time to deal with shit dons’t Hitokiri will suit them perfectly? Easy to use and high rewarding while Warden and Lawbringer being more complex would lead them to a more difficult time and hard times adapting?
The only time I've managed to parry Hito is only on pure luck. she and catman need a nerf in some capacity (since obviously they cannot be deleted from the game)
even if somone say this hero for new player easy strong guess what there is a new player watched havok and he said ohh warden looks cool and he get stomped by hito player, these days its like every match there is hito in your team or the other and its getting annoying at this point
June 13 new samurai hero so how about the next week of only Hito? Also, I hate the little kick at the end of the new exe cause it has no power to it. (Side note, does anyone else have trouble dodging hito’s bash?)

i think the game as a whole is braindead due to the lack of complexity and inspiration for the previous 3-5 heroes as well as a majority of the reworks. Every option both defensive and offensive play is always the same for every hero, for the reasons i just mentiond, and the options are not all that exciting.
Just quick question, who u play against if they cant parry ur heavies? Seriously.... Hito is one of the most predictable Heros. Im afraid to ask u what would u do if Hito would try sweep cancel....

If they want to make the character so safe than nerf all heavy attacks including unblockable attack to two damage down and nerf her chip damage from 4 to 2 if they want to keep her uninterruptible stances ? Because feats can buff her attacks too
What nerf? She isnt that hood when compared to actual good characters who have the proper tools to fight him. Between all block cancels, dodge cancels, crushing counter lights, hyper armor trading, and dodge bashes. Many characters have tools to counter the character. All the top picks stomp Hito. BP can CC the heavies and bulwark flip the UB in 1 go. Vangarian can kinda do the same but loses to.full charge UB. Afeera can try to CC the heavies and dodge cancel the UB. Any character with a dodge cancel can dance around Hito. Orochi, Zerker, Pirate, Shinobi, Nobushi, Jian Jun, Afeera, and Tiandi. Caharacters with crushing counter and hyper armor follow up can try to go for a CC light and if they dont get it, they can out trade the UB charge heavy with their out hyper armor heavy. Warlord and Highlander can do this. Aramusha can attempt a heavy parry then cancel into his full block to beat any variable timed heavy except for filly charge. Kyioshin can CC light into full block and cancel it in time to parry the UB. Or CC lught into bash to hito out of a charged heavy. Shugoki can buffer input a heavy to trade with hito and then get a confirmed head butt. Tradding 22 damage for 34 (24 heavy and 10 bash). Hito is a low tier character stomper. He easily beats low tier characters but can be out done by higher tier characters. Kinda off like a character tool check. If your hero doesnt have these tools and/or you dont k ow how to use them, you get easily stomped. A 100% brain dead boring hero to play, but only hebbe only works on equally brain dead opponents.

In chain yes she is quite strong but from neutral I would pick anyone with a bash over her any day. With hito I cannot attack anyone who can parry at all,I have to wait and parry or dodge myself then use my offence as this happened with a warden I fought earlier. If they take her neutral armor she needs some type of opener besides light and heavy lol.
