Come on... They felt like freaking toys compared to even a Skoda... if that doesn't say anything, I don't know what could...
I’ve owned Hyundai since 2013. Build quality is good, they hold up well to 150k. More than enough in this market. Want a car for 200k+ go with Toyota. Hyundai sets the standard in exterior innovation.
Have had mine since November and I gotta say I've been very impressed, I was concerned about the winter months but when the heat pump system these come with the range loss was not severe (had to charge a little bit more but not a big deal) have taken it on a 600 mile road trip and it was a breeze and usually had above estimated range by the time I got to my charging locations. Overall it's been a really good car, probably best I've owned so far, the capabilities and charging speeds are certainly a step in the right direction but with how quickly these cars have advanced in the pass 10 years I'm eager to see what they are like in the future
@@heysoular Oh it's fantastic! I don't see ever going back to internal combustion unless the economics of it drastically change somehow. Not that I was after attention, but I sure do get a lot of it. Teslas are everywhere in this area but the Ioniq6 is rare so strangers stop me to ask about it all the time. Of course the range suffered in the cold winter but I'm getting way over the published range now that spring is here. Here in NJ, our electrical provider offers both a level 2 wiring reimbursement and a drastically reduced off peak rate, so I'm saving a fortune over what I once paid for gas. During the first long trip I took where I had to charge away from home, it cost me $18. I used to pay $70-$80 for gas in my Audi A6. And charging at home is even way cheaper than that. I did the math and I think I pay about $6.50 each time I charge from 20 something % to 80% at home. Feature wise, it's awesome- super spacious interior, beautifully designed, and great safety features. Acceleration is also quite amazing if you push it in Sport Mode or My Drive maxed out

It’s because it’s electric it needs very good aerodynamics so it can get better range. In the electric car industry range is a very competitive selling point because of the charging time

Damn they are turning into a really really respectable car brand. They’re making some good looking stuff lately. I remember when these cars were a bit of a joke and they made Hondas look high-end. these cars are about to be out of reach for the people I used to think they were for…. The automotive market is becoming so competitive it’s almost like nobody makes a bad car anymore everyone has such good stuff they’re bringing it to market because it’s just so competitive.
As the owner of a UP Model S Plaid, outside of that vehicle, there are so many better options to the model 3 and Y offered by other manufacturers, but the supercharger at work was the key to Tesla’s success, now that those are opened up to other manufacturers to use… if I can plug in that Hyundai to a supercharger like I would my Tesla it should easily out sell the model 3
Honestly, with these easy-to-understand features. Not only Hyundais and KIAs ave really been kicking’ it out there! I would PREFER seeing more of these than any Tesla!
@@fayenotfaye uuuhhh no. If It doesn't plug into a Tesla supercharger there is no reliable well distributed fast charging network. Tesla is looking at opening up it's charging network but Teslas would have priority and other brands will be relegated to availability and be charged more.

Thats the base model with 272 miles $56k for performance model $6k for enhanced autopilot and $12k for fsd. and even more money if you want anything other than white paint. my moms tesla model 3 long range with fsd in deep blue exterior and white interior cost her almost $73k with delivery.

It makes it faster to produce vehicles when the majority choose two colors or add ons. Plus the self driving add on is literally another computer you’re buying that these Hyundai’s don’t have. Plus base price for vehicle without add ons is around 47,000 before tax. I could only imagine the basic features this car has before tax. The Tesla is marketed as a premium vehicle not an economical one. I mean if we’re juggling $4000 here… why wouldn’t you buy the Iphone of EV cars over the android? Your mom made a good choice and she will maintain resale value later on.

They're built on the same chassis and share tons of parts and features. Same battery, same charging features, all that stuff is all the same. Same architecture.
Hyundai’s look they’re giving their vehicles now reminds me of 90s concept car paintings and sketches from auto books i use to look at when i was a kid. I dont think that’s an insult though. Weirdly enough they give me a nostalgic feel.

the ioniq 6 is definitely not gonna outsell the model 3. the model 3 is already the most sold electric car and a new car definitely wont beat it unless its cheaper and more affordable as well as good at the same time.
Careful about that build quality statement. We've had more major problems with our Hyundai vehicles than with our Land Rovers and we've had 5 of those over about 20yrs
- Look how much space space there's in the back! * Hunches over not to hit the roof. I've examined both the 5 and the 6 in the showroom. They are pretty much the same inside. The 5 is way more practical, but the 6 will be a future classic. Then again, the 5 is the one that reminds me of a certain time machine :)
The rear headroom looks a bit tight tho... But otherwise this vehicle looks absolutely fantastic! Two minor gripes is the single dash center Guage cluster with no shroud and a two spoke steering wheel. Otherwise perfection!
Yes, he would hit his head in the back seats, so he crouched down. And he would hit his head in the driver's seat so that is why he slouched down with the seat reclining. That is terrible for head room. And the rear seats look "thin". I don't think they will be comfortable compared to a more normal EV seat.
@@animejanai4657Absolutely incorrect, I don't know how tall he is but I own this car and I'm 6foot 2 and I fit in the front and back perfectly fine, in fact this is the first car I've ever owned where I can fit in the back with my driving seat position. And I've had a lot of cars. Go sit in one for yourself then judge.

Under $50k, over $40k. Either way, cheaper than a trash model 3 which rn is close to $48k & $15k extra for autopilot, $1500 extra to get a white interior, etc etc. Ioniqs also come with free charging for 2 years.
