Mind-blown with the use of this important indicator in such a tweaked way! I checked the method on a lot of charts after watching this video and the results were like as explained in the video. My learning from this video makes me believe that the overbought and oversold thing theory has been put to rest by your bullish or bearish concept. Summary of learnings: 1. Traditional RSI usage(70 sell) can be inaccurate. 2. Instead use RSI 60 bullish. 3. Combine RSI with RSI 5 MA for double confirmation and reduce false signals 4. If RSI 5 MA> 60; find an opportunity to go long if < 40 find an opportunity to go short.

Here are the "learnings of the video", hope this summary also helps the people who do not have much time to go through the video : 1) RSI indicator can be used in scalping, intraday trading, BTST, STBT, daily, weekly charts and options buying and selling. 2) RSI traditional definition: RSI>70 is overbought and one should look for short and RSI60 uptrend (bullish), 60>RSI>40 Sideways, RSI 60 bullish, 60>5MA RSI>40 is sideways, 5MA RSI < 40 is bearish 6) Better to have proper entry and stop loss rule based on different types of trading 7) 5 parameters that play very crucial role to make profits: Entry, initial stop loss, trail stop loss (TSL), exit (exit after 1:2 risk reward or at important resistance or support level, or depending on TSL), risk per trade (should not be more than 1.5 to 2% of capital per trade 8) Time frame suggested: Intraday-15 min, Scalper 3 or 5 min, BTST-30 0r 60 min, swing or positional-Daily 9) Entry criteria: 5MA RSI > 60 , mark this respective candle (mark up candle) close and buy if next candle breaks high of the candle and keep SL low of the mark up candle 10) For trailing stop loss intraday players can use 21 EMA or ATR (default is 14 period and one can use the 2 multiple of the ATR value as stop loss) or supertrend 11) Money management most important: never risk more than 2% of your capital on any trade.

Sir, I think you have done a great job explaining the use of RSI-MA. Yet, for me, an even more useful insight from your video is about the entry which I have never heard of in other relevant videos. I am trading the hourly chart. Because of my impatience, I am used to place an entry before the hourly candle closes itself, which more often than not turns out to be premature and sometimes disastrous. In your video, you gave me a wake-up call indeed. You emphasized the need to wait for the completion of a candle before making an entry. And, I can't agree more on such an advise. Thank you so much.
Summary of the video: 1) Instead of using conventional RSI (UP:70&L:30) use upper band:60 and lower band:40. 2)Apply MA (5) in RSI to avoid false signals or over trading. 3)Entry should be above the breakout or breakdown candle in suitable timeframe depending upon the type of trader you are. 4)Trail stoploss for winning trade is depend on MA,supertrend or ATR indicator and for losing trade SL should be below or above the breakout or breakdown candle respectively.and fixed SL with 2% of your capital. 5)Exit should be done based on risk-reward, support & resistance, trailing stoploss method depending upon your risk appetite
Learnings from video : 1. Indicator RSI for trend identification & strength. 2. RSI < 40 - Bearish ( Look for short opportunity). 3. RSI > 60 - Bullish ( Look for long opportunity). 4. Plot 5MA on RSI for trade confirmation and reduce false signals 4. 5 MA > 60, find an opportunity to go long if 5MA < 40, find an opportunity to go short. 5. For additional conformation include price action.( Support, Resistance, Trendline etc.) 6. For intraday study first candle opening and its price behavior. 7. Time frame depends on duration of trade. ( 15 min to weekly ) 8. Target - can stay in trade till RSI MA above 60 9. Stop loss - It can be candle low, swing low or can be followed by ATR, etc.
One more suggestion: Keeping the default SMA 38:21 at 14 and using moving average cross overs as entry points give us lotof trading opportunities than the one suggested. Please correct me if i am wrong

Rsi staying for long time above 70 is overbought and below 30 is oversold. To avoid false signals RSI INDICATOR SETTINGS Upperband 60 Lowerband 40 Rsi based MA MA length 5(inputs) Entry Levels 15min for intraday 3min for scalping Daily for swing trading For entry levels candle should close above 60 according to time frame and entry will be above high of candle. Exit according to sl /support resistance/partial booking 21 ema,supertrend [14 AND 2.5]ATR can be used for entry and exit .
RSI combined with pullback is a killing strategy, i created a screener which would give me stock that would go onto more then 10% in a day, but one thing i could not solve is real time alerts, i would be late to the party, and once a stock is in the list, used to be there even the stock was exhausted, just because it was above 70 !
Nice video on RSI sir. learning of the video - RSI is the simple but very powerful indicator if we use properly along with price action. I would like to add 3 more indicators. 20 SMA, 9 SMA (HIGH) and VWAP. When they come together most of the time trade goes in your direction. This I have learnt from N K sir. Just give it a try.

So setting upper and lower band of RSI based moving average as 60 and 40 respectively without middle band and following proper entry as well as exit with stop loss or trailing stop loss and limiting risk as 2% of our capital we can use this indicator as an add on for our final decision to take a trade along with other price action strategies.

This rsi video is eye opener for me.i am able get early signal on RSI/5 SMA CROSSOVER. This works. 15m rsi line 5 SMA cross OVER ON KEY LEVEL GOOD ENTRY ON 5 minutes. Overall trend assessment on the whole day of RSI LINE ABOVE 50 sma is bull trend overall day. Overall trend assessment on the whole day of RSI LINE below 50 sma is BEAR trend overall day. ONE MORE POINT , 5/20/50 sma cross over on RSI LINE IS STRONG TREND CHANGE BULL OR BEAR.

As you always says don’t trade this in isolation. Bring all our learning while we trade. Use this for confirmation of your entry. Ask urself whether it is initiate or Responsive, price acceptance or Rejection at levels, Trend continuation or reversal pattern, Open type and day types, ORB + RSI 60-40 is far better as per your book. Efficiency of RSI increases/gives better result when the MA in RSI is set to 5. Also add a 5&61 cross over(EMA) on the main chart for Intra-day trading. On a long/short trade, EMA(61) will be the TL. In addition one can add 1hr PIVOT along with present TF pivot. Higher TF pivot will give an better understanding of P/Action bullish/bearish..
In my experience when the moving average line goes from 40 and crosses above 50 good to take the entry above that candle price and vice versa in 5 min.

Its very true that - Defining rules towards ones trading system is the only way to trade. Since there is no holy grail strategy one needs to follow proper risk and money management system to tide over the drawdown phases. That is why I believe that it is not the number of profitable trades that will make one successful but the trades that he didn't take based on certain rules are going to give him an edge in trading... Nice video for intraday traders sir...i personally use RSI 40/60 method with 20 EMA ...for nifty n bank nifty 5 min time frame ...it works well in trending market but average in sideways market ...with small capital we are unable put only 2% sl in intraday ....

For trending markets it will earn you, but take all your money and more during sideways market. Market oscillates between 40-60, crossing boundaries many times during sideways market. Fun facts sideways is major nature of market 70% of the time.
@@indrazith1 Yes that is true. My point is that people struggle to find if the day is trending or not until it is very late. For trending days everything works, nobody needs any indicator for trading on those days as market is moving one way up or down with little consolidations here n there. No disrespect to your work Indra, just adding my take for healthy discussion.

RSI when above 50 we can expect bull market and below bearish When price moves in opposite direction of RSI than we can expect reversal, some time multiple divergence occurs trend continues in same direction When RSI cross above 70 and continue for some time it means momentum is strong in bullish side When RSI is below 30 and continue for some time it means momentum is strong in bearish side

Sir I learn the use of 5MA instead of RSI. I search the stock having RSI above 70 on daily, weekly and monthly time frame and keep watch for long trades. I have read Intraday Trading twice which improv my trading. I also prefer partly booking of profit which increases my confidence and avoids loss. Above RSI 70, mostly speed increases.
Sir, One basic doubt: If we want to buy a stock we have buy at low price selll at high price . That is to pick a stock low and sell at high. If we buy a stock below 40 RSI and sell above RSI 60 IT would give us more profit. So we have design a system whereby to buy below RSI40 and sell above RSI 60 safely. Am I right ? Please advise
Because of the same thought process most people fail to make money in trading. Your aim should not be to buy at lower levels and sell at higher levels, rather buy at higher levels and sell at more higher levels. Because no body can buy at the bottom
