This Ingenious System Brings Water to the Chinese Desert 

The ancient people were really ingenious. Without machines ,they produced what is marvelled the world over.

No matter who invented the Kaner well, ancient Chinese dig many 20-70 m vertical well on the slope of the mountain just by two hands. That is an amazing achievement.

in Morocco this system consists in transferring the water from the mountains underground in order to avoid evaporation and also it requires the maintenance its is called '' khattarat ''

This is probably the most amazing thing I've seen on RU-vid. Imagine if we spent money on doing something like this instead of spending trillions of dollars on war.

In the Philippines we have our own natural rock water reservoir under the mountains. We just put bamboo on the side of the mountain where water leaks. Continues supply without experiencing droughts.

We in Australia could really learn and innovate from this Chinese technology to combat our own water issues

This system is common throughout NW China. The early inhabitants of the region were Sino-Tibetan, East Iranian and Tocharian (a misnomer by Early European scholars. They called themselves by the towns they lived, such as Tuti and Agni). The inhabitants were Indo-European Buddhist for millennium and Islamization started in around 10th century AD. They are now known as Uighur but this is also a misnomer as the real original Uyghur people spoke a Siberian Turkish language and believed in Shamanism. There are direct descendants of Uyghur living in Gansu who still speak the Uyghur language and are Buddhist. The Xinjiang Muslim Uyghur speak a Chagatai language which is almost identical to the Uzbek language.

This is a method that Uyghurs have been using on since very old times. The place shown in the video is in Xinjiang.

We have spring fed creeks here in Central Mississippi. The water is sweet and clean. Most farms/plantations dig their own wells near their house. These old dudes, back in 1830, could dig a 150 foot well with mules.

We call it "Karez" کاریز، it's also common in areas of Pakistan with similar climate zone. But we have almost driven by nature.

This system is 300 years old and there are more than 20,000 of this systems all over Iran. In Iran this system is called GHANAT. One such system also is working in U.S. near the village of Kerman in southern California. This only Ghanat system in US has been set by Iranians about 150 years ago.

Well.., hmm, This is actually an ancient Iranian technology called "qanat" or "karez", which dates back to more than 2500 years ago. Neyshabur, which was famous for its numerous qanats as the city of 1000 qanats, has lost lots of its qanats during the attack of Mongols but still some of them are functional.

Those were ancient han Chinese techs. China spreaded digging well techs to west regions. And han Chinese came to that region before urghur race came into existence. According to a 4000 years old poetry击壤歌 and other history books, The wells were used when Yao尧 ruled China.

I have seen thousands of these irrigation systems in Iran, it called ghanaat. Every villages have one. Unfortunately they are disappearing, Dams drying out ghanaats.

Mother Nature also deposited coal, natural gas, and oil.

It is a very old system known in the Persian Empire (now Iran) and imported in Spain Andalusia by the Arabs (see the suspended gardens in Grenada). It seems that the term "paradise" comes from it.

These are the descendants of the original ethnic groups that developed the area known today as western China.

Ghanats and kariz are two ancient persian "iranian" inventions thousands of years ago. Some of villages in iran are still using these systems that is said to be hundreds of years old. The clever system is also called the eighths wonder of the world be some researchers. in the field.

Plants require way more than water for growth... We know Sandy soil not good for retaining water... Even if it's maintained.... The nutrients in soil will leach out easily.. not forgetting the temperature extremes.. also is it even cost effective?..
