Oven crazier on a bike bk a crash in many places would be instant death. Every couple of yrs a biker is killed there. Whereas in a car it would mostly protect the driver.

@@jacobthefiend you don’t really want to live here anyway. it’s boring af most of the year apart from when it’s TT. also the standard of driving over here is horrendous. people just go 40 mph everywhere. school zone where it’s a 20 mph limit? speed through at 40. roads where there are no speed limit? trundle at 40 getting in everyone’s way. and people never stay on their own side of the road. it’s pretty dreadful

I've never seen DRS work on it in gt7, and there's no action for it to map to a button

@@jacobthefiend Its the same as the Nitrous button. It does work, but you have to hold it down. Default is R3 (pushing down on the Right analogue stick) If you fit the car with nitrous you only get nitrous and not DRS, its a dual purpose button press but nitrous takes priority.

The only modern sim with a faithful recreation of the IoM TT circuit is Rfactor 2 (Is a conversion of Jim Pearson's GPL track that took 14 years to build from scratch).

Higgins is a legend. I remember 2004 brc at ulster when he was driving for stobart, he went a bit hot over a jump overshot the corner, whipped the handbrake on, and took off like he meant it.

128mph average speed. Holy crap. Fortunate enough to take my Volvo 240 round the course for a couple of laps 6 years ago. Tree roots at the side of the carriageway come as a surprise at 90 I can tell you. Wooden crosses on every tree. Amazing place.

Theres a vid from 81 or so a finn in tt in an opel manta has a scuff with the wall, swings side to side and goes through a car sized bridge and just keeps going on 3 wheels for the rest of the stint. The co driver goes speechless for a bit

The very first thing that I thought of while watching was JC on Topgear: "To be a racing driver you have to be able to turn the inbuilt danger switch we all have in our brains off" This guy is a certified lunatic, absolute insanity doing those speeds a few CMs away from kerbs and less than a metre away from trees and houses.

It's also the surpreme confidence that eveything is balanced, everything will stick and hold. Just unreal. Even watching the oboard is seriously stress inducing, can feel your own body flinch at moments. He's no mere mortal that man. I have respect for the pace normal racing drivers go around a typical F1 style circuit .... but this speed is an entirely different class of driving

Hey Jimmy, as someone who's just come from the Isle of Man to watch the TT for the first time, it's pretty damn crazy. Love the event though, such a unique experience in motorsport. Feels like a huge track day with how close you can get to the riders, circuit, paddock, etc. Had a WRX back in the day and man attempting a lap in that around the circuit might actually scare me more than on my bike, major steel going on with the lads that run the circuit no matter their pace. And the sidecars even more so, if you ask me. All the best

He talks about the bumpy section from ginger hall to Ramsey and it is bumpy I've been down it at legal speeds on a bike and it is fucking bumpy. The fast guys on the race bike say they actually lift the arse out of the seat and ride it like a jockey to give them more control.

That was horrifyingly good. The trust involved on everyone's part is insane. A car at those speeds, with that momentum through towns could be devastating. It's the skill and engineering of those involved that makes it so compelling, and frankly terrifying to watch. I was quite uncomfortable watching that knowing how close the margins were for everyone there, those watching at roadside and those not just sitting in their houses. Mental.

Such a stunning lap. Dunno if you watched them on stream but there's an amazing clip from a previous attempt where he has "the biggest moment of my life" at the bottom of Bray Hill. It's insane. Also worth checking out some of his older videos, there's one from the Manx Rally where the he commentates all the way through it instead of the co-driver saying anything. Also the onboard of Peter Hickman's record 135mph lap is just pure insanity, especially when you hear how calm he is about it all

I think Jimmer brought it up early, but the way Mark attacks the kerbs/curbs/corners feels very rally-like. Treating the apex as if it comes earlier than you think it would in a road car. Mark's mental toughness really is the showpiece here.

That sense of speed is one of the main factors for highway car accidents, as people are getting off the highway after an extended period of time their sense of baseline speed has been altered to feel higher.

One thing I learned from maneuvering a forklift around a factory floor full of pallets of expensive parts was that if you clear it by a millimetre you still clear it and there's no damage. That can be applied to going past a wall at over 170mph, which is what this video reminded me of . Take that advice and use it the next time you're in a Praga Jimmy.

The bit I found mad is where he says that "the bikes are doing just under 200mph here" at which stage it was almost 50mph faster than the car. It would literally make the car look like it was standing still if it went by at that speed difference, and the car already looked pretty damn quick at 150! 😆. Crazy

IoM is not part of the UK but yes, we use UK road conventions (though there's no national speed limit like there is in the UK, when you see the no speed limit signs they mean no speed limit).

I did a lap of the iom tt when i lived there 20 years ago during a practise week. it was a 2.4 ltr rental sierra cosworth that cost 50 quid for 2 days and was faf. just chilled at normal speed until the mt rd where u can let lose and was doing 120 ish all the way to the creg with multiple mbikes overtaking me tipped right over about 3 feet from the car on the corners . was unreal buzz. sunny day, no tunes and just the engine noise. great memories. love the tt track. is awesome on a push bike as well. i did 95kmph going down past kates cottage. that was med as well. prob even more dangerous that doin it on a mbike/car. lycra doesnt give much protection at that speed. thank you iom for bein mental

Years ago I meet Mark Higgins at a Subaru Big Event. It’s a big show that goes on every year he was doing autograph’s and he let his rally car rip in the back parking lot of the dealership. He’s got really good car control I have video of the Craziness.

and I thought I was a badass when i was 18 driving my 1.5 nissan Almera up to 70mph through B roads. this man is a mutant! the car seems an engineering masterpiece. love the sound. Arizona has some cool roads but nothing will compare to the twists and elevations of a British B road. not sure where you're from but there are a lot of incredible village roads in Wiltshire.this vid is awesome

Holy shit, its crazy people get to this level because as you learn the chances to crash and burn in a serious way a lot of times. Unbelievable some of the risks taken on a few of the turns

Mark is absolutely nuts man. Anyone who drives flat out in Isle of man has balls of titanium. Jimmy, if you feel like reacting to more POV hillclimbs or anything of the sort.... You HAVE to react to Sebastian Loeb's Pikes Peak climb from 2013 in that Peugeot beast he drove. Would be sick if you checked it out even if you probably saw it already. Keep up the great work 👍

Me before the video starts: "This is the kinda bullshit Mark Higgins usually gets up to" Splash screen: Mark Higgins. Called it. His Mount Washington run is also amazing (even though it was beaten by Travis Pastrana in a more powerful car). I think Mark is one of the greatest rally drivers of all time to not make it to the WRC class

I mean it’s just incredible and to think the bikes go even quicker. It’s just pure insanity. The kerbs, the shadows, the walls, the drops. It’s simply the best circuit in the world and these guys are gods of the course. Simply loveleh.

Jimmy you should come for a trip over, theres a simulator here built into a car. feedback wheels,pedals,seat, wrap round monitor - and a leaderboard for lapping the TT course. You know you want to ;)

Most of the islands roads are national speed limit outside of the TT fortnight, Our national speed limit in the Isle of Man is “de-restricted” so we can do what ever speed we please so long as it is safe to do so on most of the islands roads, it’s only really the villages that stay 30/40 all year round
