Yea that’s crazy. I know I’ve seen everyone get all kinds of mufflers and never had to remove tips. This my 4th Silverado with exhaust and I never heard of that before
your truck has an active exhaust set up, all that sound you were hearing was the backpressure from the valve being completely closed and no other route for the exhaust to go through.
Put a new factory exhaust system on my 04 5.4 3 valve Triton F-150. I had an original OG 40 series Flowmaster that had been laying around for decades in my garage. Had it installed with my new factory exhaust. Absolutely the sweetest sounding truck I ever driven. She's a little loud... but I'm a car guy. I love it.
You had zero exhaust outlet in normal mode because the exhaust valve was closed and the other non valved pipe was welded closed. Have you had any problems with that engine yet?
@@JOHNNYUPLOADZno It WAS ok when you decided to start ordering random generic crap off the internet. Modern cars are not generic muffler vehicles. They are complete engineered systems. Do the whole thing or leave it alone because all the money and time you spend to accomplish what.
