I listen to Green Day on a daily basis and happen to know quite a few instruments and have taken 8 years worth of music classes. So I don't know why you are coming at me for a comment from 9 months ago.
I wouldn't say high pitched, it's gentler than you'd expect after listening to green day all the time. His voice in his songs is rougher, deeper, but when he talks its gentler and kinder.
